The unsettling “DUN DUN DUN DUN” in the song (especially in the beginning) makes more sense when you find out that this song was originally written about a serial killer.

Not only you are a meticulous and perfectionist when looking for the exact sounds of the covers that you show to the world, but you are also a great interpreter and also mythiculous looking for the exact chords of the songs ... In "Maniac" it would have been easy to play the chords that sound in the 95% that runs on CZcams ... but you, it seems that you were present together with Sembello in the studio when he recorded this song for a horror film originally conceived in '83 .... I admire your work a lot, Greetings from Spain.
I agree with Raúl. This song sounds simple on the surface, but there is a LOT going on when you crack open the hood. Can’t do everything with just two hands, and I love what you picked to focus on. That DFDF sort of “siren” trill toward the end of each verse line kills me. Sembello clearly brought so much of what he learned working with Stevie to this. Bit of EVH homage in the solo too? Anyway great choice and super well executed. New subscriber get!
