I love how the soundtrack is a combination of Pokémon and Freddi Fish.
You know the first 8 seasons of Pokémon aired on Kids’ WB! (1999-2006) before moving to Cartoon Network from seasons 9 to 19 (2006-2017) until it was moved again to Disney XD for seasons 20 to 22 (2017-2020), thus making Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon the only series to air on Disney XD and then it was moved for the third time to Netflix (2020-present) where it remained since
You're criminally underrated because you only have 611 subs when you should be like 42K. Nice video btw
Pokémon being on KidsWB is super nostalgic for me. To be, KidsWB was Pokémon (and Yugioh)
Wow! So informative. And I thought it was the "Twerp-ology" from Team Rocket that stopped airing it (which was the reason for me to stop watching Pokémon at the time, which I have since tolerate especially with Jessie, who I now call her my respectable frenemy). So it was money AND time that ended its run on Kids WB, that and so much merchandising, which is the reason, the main reason why some of our favorite shows (even though they had a good run) get cancelled. And on a personal fan note, no disrespect to the other voice talent in the later seasons, including Sarah Natochenny, but I will always think of Veronica Taylor is de-facto voice for Ash Ketchum. And looking back on what Pokémon has left behind, it was indeed a national phenomenon, even dealing with Team Rocket's antics and "Twerp-ology".
Lisa Ortiz wasn’t a carryover. She had to come back later.
Thank you for bringing it up. You're absolutely right. She didn't initially jump over, but she did come back some time later. So, you can consider it an example of some of the VAs that eventually returned.
@@MediaNutso Yeah I am intrigued as to how everyone that came back did, like, did the costs balance out? What was it about the next two years that allowed it to start happening?
@@DigiRangerScottFrom what I know, it was partly because production costs weren't kept as low as they'd been for Battle Frontier and the first season of Diamond and Pearl.
This was a great video. I also heard back at that time that they also couldn't keep the original VA's for cartoon network from WB due to the 4kids VA's being under union contract and they didnt wanna pay them that extra money to keep them so they dropped them fast without hesitation. I remember I heard that all those years ago
The date mentioned at 4:18 is 25 this year, as we proudly celebrate the silver anniversary of the premiere of Pokemon indigo leauge on Kids' WB!. Also noting at 13:12, Cayzie Rogers who originally voice ash and max in the original Kids WB! broadcast of Pokemon: the mastermind of mirage pokemon (now on Internet Archive) which took only 21 days (a.k.a. 3 weeks) to dub the full special in english, Shara Natochenny did dub her voice of ash in the redub edition and was released on dvd as part of the 2 disc collector's edition of pokemon: Lucario and the Mystery of mew and the wave hero (the last film to have the original 4 kids entertainment english dub adaptation cast).
I miss ash
Static Shock has 4 seasons NOT 3 seasons.
Nice history video😙
It always interesting to learn more about pokemon effect when it aired years ago)
Glad you enjoyed it!
And this the end of Looney Tunes era was here.
I had watched Pokémon on television for 25 years since my childhood years in the late 1990s and onwards. I remember the who's that Pokémon mini game, Ash Ketchum's adventures, and the Pokémon Pokérap. This was happened when I was in my elementary school years in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
I definitely think there’s some bad blood with TPCI. They NEVER acknowledge the original cast. I love the franchise but imo the casting changes ruined the anime.
I don't know. If that were the case, then Pokémon USA wouldn't be showcasing clips from the early seasons on their CZcams channel, or would've gone ahead and redubbed the first eight seasons like what had been done for Dragon Ball Z. They might not be direct about the old cast, but they do infer about them a bit.

Didn’t Kids WB drop ALL their anime before the 2006-07 season?
Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters had already ended, and Spider Riders premiered during that season.
It definitely didn’t help that Cartoon Network out bid Kids’ WB! for the show and took it away from Kids’ WB! Plus, they were forced to give up the weekday afternoons. The WB was bullied by advertisers to give back the weekday afternoons. They were quoted as saying they couldn’t “advertise adult products” during the Kids’ WB! block. Warner Bros could lose some advertisers but to lose as many as they were possibly going to, that would’ve hurt the shows, block and lineup.
Had the advertisers not whined and cried about not being able to advertise during the kids shows, which is ridiculous since they had 10 hours during the weeknights and about 4-6 hours on Sunday afternoons and evenings. So they had an equal amount of time to advertise. To say they didn’t have enough time is by them is ridiculous.
Good video and ty again. Keep up the awesome work!
I do remember it was the afternoon block that stopped like 3 days before 9/11/01
@@davidlewis5189 actually, the afternoon block went until January 2006. It was the weekday morning block that stopped right before that day. I loved both blocks though. Networks wanted their morning ones back for news programming.
@@Trekapedia Well, they got their wish in a way a few days later...
Great and informative video. If I could make one suggestion it would be to slow down the anime clips you’re playing. A little too quick.
Actually, they weren't sped up. That's really how the clips were played, as they were lifted from old promos.
@@MediaNutso ahhh my mistake. I watched this late at night, must’ve just been exhausted 😂
Great Job can you do Pretty Cure/Glitter Force Yu-Gi-Oh! or Zatch Bell!?
Then how come warner bros still doing it's distribition with pokemon???
It's only for Detective Pikachu, and it's a completely different deal.
They lied,Pokémon has more seasons.
Very true, but as I said, it was canceled from Kids' WB, but it continued on Cartoon Network for a while, then moved to Disney XD, and eventually went to Netflix.
@@MediaNutsodid Pokémon Battle Frontier was aired on Kids' WB before the show quickly moved to Cartoon Network after the merger between UPN and the WB! Television Network? Or did Pokémon Battle Frontier aired on Cartoon Network?
Pokémon: Battle Frontier aired on Cartoon Network after Kids’ WB! dropped the Pokémon anime from its lineup
Cartoon Network run the original seasons
