I don’t understand how people fail to see the irony…in the biggest democracy the Indian National Congress is still a monarchy. The party’s main leadership has and is from the Nehru-Gandhi family. Every decision is still taken by the family members instead of the elected members.
There are many local parties in India like this. Keeping the reigns within the family. It’s not very nice.
For all the people commenting here. I was merely pointing out that party decisions should be delegated to capable leaders and shouldn’t stay within one family. It’s really sad to see these results. It was Modi’s government that put India on the world map. The fact that we are doing so well in technological field, economic growth, eradication of terrorism, etc is because of Modi. It’s sad that people believe the propaganda that he’s against Muslims. But he’s done a lot to benefit the Muslim community too. Just because someone supports their religion doesn’t mean they hate other religions. I feel that the fact that he was against Kalisthan movement, supported Israel, supported Israel, and the ram mandhir incident made many believe he did bad. But they forgot all the developments and advancements.
I wouldn’t say BJP is perfect. It has its flaws too. They should’ve been more careful in the choice of their candidates which costed the majority this time. If the candidates had bad reputation in those areas, they should have switched them with better leaders. They were too focused on winning the central elections. You need good leaders at the grassroots level so that the civilians in those constituencies benefit.
Good on Congress. As far as I am aware (Karnataka), congress had some good candidates at the constituency level and so people I guess voted for leaders who they believed will do good for their area in terms of development. Maybe BJP ought to learn from this election that having good candidates is important to keep the majority. It’s important to listen to the feedback from civilians and keep a close watch on the progress that was promised.

I was born & raised in an India that was spiritual more than religious - To each his own religion & it was considered not only crude & impolite to impose one's religious views on others, but totally backward & UNacceptable to the progress of any nation. I took pride in the fact that India was a country of Religious Freedom with a clear separation of religion & state. Even in my Catholic school, there were more non-Catholics & we went to Moral Science classes (learning about ethics, good & bad rather than the Bible) while the Catholics attended Religion where they studied about THEIR religion. Decades later, from the Outside Looking In, I was shocked to see Dada-Modi run India to the ground. He boasted of "technological progress", while the poverty & population levels hit the roof. Fake news out of India lied while Modi denounced the BBC for exposing him!! India was slowly turning into a country I hardly recognized. It pained me to see religious riots & divisions being caused by a man who was getting rich from India getting poor. TIME TO SURRENDER NARENDRA & UNITE INDIA AGAIN. Time for India to be in "Peace", not in "Pieces" - Better a United India than a Divided Bharat - Namaste 🙏from USA!!
