Hi Wynand cool gun and enjoyed the review. It definitely seems purpose built for hunting and showing your buddies. I wanted to see you shooting the rifle and the surprise on your face while doing so. Keep the vids coming really enjoying it
I was able to make mine a backyard shooter by taking the advice of a CZcamsr by the channel name of Southern Gunner. He now goes by "SG". He advised to go with the heaviest pellet and keep the rifle turned all the way down on the lowest power setting. I shoot my .22 cal Sumatra with 34 grain JSB diablo Beasts and get around 888 FPS. The aforementioned combination with a suppressor definitely made my gun much quietly. I have had mine since 2016 and I have never had any problems with it yet. it is an awesome gun to have!
Is it possible to add a regulator for more even shots? Perhaps even a bigger air cylinder? And is it still loud on full power with a proper silencer? Dig the no bs approach of your video.
My sumatra also decompresses after removing the filling probe. I just put it on again refill that amount that got decompressed and then it stays on the same pressure. This gun surely has it's perks :). It is also loud on maximum power. It sounds like a real rifle. So wear ear protection. First time i shot it, it got my ears ringing. When you put it on lower power the sound is very bearable. I use this gun alot on lower settings because i don't have a big yard. Use a good stopper if you shoot on max power it packs a punch a shoots through quick build bricks. Nearly shot through the wall in my yard, that would have been bad since there's a shop behind it :) luckily the second layer of the brick stopped it. That was on medium power setting. On the highest power setting i woud have shot through. The underlever is fun and the gun shoots great. Good accuracy and alot of power. And yeah to me this classic look is appealing. Others find it disgusting. Tastes differ. But it is a good gun for sure. Your readings are strange to me. I can tame my sumatra to around 300 fps. Most of the time i set it at 400fps. Even the first shots when filled and changed power level are low velocity if i want. So I do use it for plinking :) at 400 fps it is not that loud and not too powerfull. So i do use it alot, nearly every weekend :)
