    Played by: NPI
    Released In Europe as Donald Duck: Quack Attack.
    Looks Familiar? Yeah, Rayman 2 engine is used.
    So, I've collected all toys and parts for the boss level. Unfortunately because of a bug I couldn't play the time rush mode, however it is not a vital part of the game and it rewards you in nothing more than extra clothes. Also this game exist on several other consoles so I'll do a 100% another one eventually. -

    Ah I remember this game. Loved when I first played it. Back then I had a lot of trouble with some of the bosses (especially Magica!)
    Came back to it years later and it was such a breeze. Fun game, and there are little references everywhere. Voice acting is decent too. All in all not a bad Donald Duck game but certainly not the best one.

    It's not a bug, you have go to your nephews and talk to them, they will then leave the hub so you can enter the chase level in each world. After clearing each of the chase levels, you can play the time rush mode when you re-enter one of the 4 main levels of each world.

    I think the first console that could do 3D graphics properly was the Dreamcast. 60fps at 640x480 resolution, that looked great back in the late 90s.

    • @wizzgamer
      @wizzgamer Před 3 lety

      Disagree I would say N64 it was the 3D powerhouse of the 5th generation being over twice as powerful as the PS1 meaning the graphics where a huge step up.

    • @naoaquieopatrickpatrick8565
      @naoaquieopatrickpatrick8565 Před 3 lety

      @@wizzgamer who cares about graphics when your console is less powerful for storage and capacity than a CD? the main reason n64 was a flop in comparison to the ps1, they shouldn't have used cartdridges instead of CDs, I know CDs weren't that popular and the PS1 was the one that turned it into a priority afterwards, but no wonder Nintendo lost the 5th gen to Sony, the CD costed less to develop and offered much more potential for gaming than the Cartdridge, the only disadvantages were the controls lacking an analog stick for precision like the N64 and, like you said, the graphics not being full 3D, but I doubt customers at the time knew or cared about real 3D images or not, at least nintendo learned something and decided to use their own CD format on the Gamecube, too bad the PS2 just fucked nintendo's sorry ass a second time, lol.

    It’s interesting looking back, seeing how groundbreaking games have a ripple effect of cheap rip-offs. Especially in licensed games.
    There were a lot of games like this one following Crash Bandicoot, but there were also a lot of tomb-raider knockoffs that used the “run around and shoot” auto-aim concept. It’s something that has always happened in games, and still happens today.

    Dreamcast & PS2 version would have a bug on stage 3 or 4,I've remember had freeze on my DC always at the same level on PS2 exactly the same stage. I had buying Quack Attack cardridge for my N64 to finally have the last level of the game and i got it. Anyway I preferred the N64 version,think better framerate or fluidity. Think the 64 rom better encoded,and suppose the game has been developed for the N64 initially,have you heard about this?

      MegaXLR Actually there's no Xbox version, maybe you got confused with the Gamecube. ;-)
      Also the N64 version is quite better than the Pc counterpart which apparently has been hastily developed. :-\

    • @megaxlrful
      @megaxlrful Před 9 lety

      SaturnJap The gameplay part was the same. I thought I read that there was an xbox version on a wiki page. (I could be wrong) Played the N64 in an emulator now and I seem to drop quite a few frames. (I really have a beast of a computer, it's not my hardware) and never noticed those on worse PC setups

    • @SaturnJap
      @SaturnJap Před 9 lety

      MegaXLR Indeed the gameplay is the same. I thought you referred to the quality. I can assure that doesn't exist an Xbox version, otherwise I would have immediately bought it at the time. ;-) (Basically is the only platform for which the game has not been released.)
      I don't use emulators (I mean sometime I use them, but just for whim or on my android smartphone), I like real things and I can tell you that the real N64 version, especially if equipped with 4mb ram expansion is quite smooth and also you can play the game at "hi res" 480/576i.
      I have a monster pc either on Win8.1 pro x64 and that's actually a major "issue" playing older Pc games, also the N64 emulation is really complicated due to the complex architecture of the machine, in fact the results are still mediocre, especially sound and framerate stability (you have to mess a lot with settings to achieve both decent look and gameplay), no matter if one has a Nasa computer, with most of the main roms, same for the Sega Saturn, but I have the console. :)
      The video above has definitely been recorded with an emulator, no way N64 graphics could look so sharp and vivid, it's always even too much blurry. :-\
      Whatever, I suggest you to get a "modern" N64 emu at emucr.com ;-)

      The Playstation version has the most differences of all. And if you ask me, it's also the worst version. The music is boring too, but the N64 version, that is a port of the PC and Dreamcast version, did a good job with the music porting to fit the N64 card.

    • @AMathMonkey
      @AMathMonkey Před 6 lety +3

      I'm glad I found someone who agrees - the N64 version's music is well done. Despite being a bit more minimalistic due to the nature of MIDI, all of the melodies are more memorable and stand up better to repeat listens, plus the songs are longer and there are more of them. Also the N64 version's sound design does the best job of making the haunted levels seem truly scary. All of that, coupled with the fact that there are no loading screens and all content remains fully intact in this version makes me prefer it over the others. PC and Dreamcast come in second, PS2 and GCN come in third for being totally different but lacking in levels, and PS1 comes last. No idea about the handheld versions.

    • @Louis_Miles
      @Louis_Miles Před 6 lety +3

      I totally agree! The PS1 soundtrack is not that bad in my opinion, but it's very unfitting and too exaggerated for the game.
      Also, if someone care, there is an early prototype of the PC version, with early music. One of these soundtracks seems to be completely different from any final version. It can be found here: tcrf.net/Proto:Disney%27s_Donald_Duck:_Goin%27_Quackers_(Windows)
