Lol I was about to say that, bet me by 5 months

same here
I have a theory that photoshop wants to end up with only 5 paying customers that pay 100,000 dollars a day to use it.
Most people don't even pay for it
i only pay 10 dollars for both Lightroom and photoshop a month, it’s not bad.
And 2 Of The Users Are Same guy.
@@maddie-xk2uv 120 dollars a year isn't cheap. For a professional - sure - but if you just want to dabble a bit, paying 120 dollars every single year is prohibitively expensive.

why would you blur them out when you could just remove them overall... tf.
So they're teaching you...what,how to "claim" your art as yours?

@@rkitsune3549snitch of the century lmao
have you ever thought about coming back to this vid and do an updated version? :) but thank you for actually looking at all these different programs :)
I think some of you missed the point of this video. Jazza is a professional artist who has used professional programs. The point of this video was to find the "best" program out of the cheapest art programs. That program would have the best qualities/highest potential to create "professional" art work you could possibly even sell. (Like big complicated backgrounds etc you know what I mean) So pretty much a program closest to Photoshop and other professional programs.
Now that doesn't mean you shouldn't use FireAlpaca and other programs Jazza didn't like. Those clearly aren't Photoshop or nowhere near it. But if those programs fit you and the ways you use them then go for it. People make amazing stuff with MS paint and the program is just crap.
Jazza clearly has high standards and a mindset of how an art program should work and how it's best for him. But that doesn't mean it's best for you. The review was from professional's prespective, there's no way he could demonstrate how a complete newbie feels. If you have never drawn before picking up a very "complicated/professional looking" program like Krita could be a challenge. But when you learn how to use a complicated program properly, it's already better than you knowing how to use MS Paint cuz the program itself is very limited so your knowledge would be limited as well.
So you draw with whatever you like but be open for reviews and opinions. Try different programs and find best for you. So what if your program wasn't his favourite? You who have used programs that are more limited and simple probably feel like the more advanced programs are confusing and way too complicated with way too many features. Where as Jazza who has used Photoshop feels like those programs lack a lot of things. Even though he tried to find programs that are good for newbies as well he maybe failed a bit cuz of how much he knows about art programs.
So in conclution Krita is probably out of these programs the most advanced one and probably the best for more professional use and for those who already know the basics. If you wanna sketch or draw comics that are simple and don't need much of the advanced features or you have never drawn on a computer before then using a simple program is probably your pick. Again try out different ones and explore! :)
Edit: Just wanna point out more, you can draw with whatever program you want and the program doesn't tell how good of an artist you are. The art is what we "judge" and base our opinions on, not the program. The program you use doesn't make you any less of an artist than anybody else.
//Sorry this was a rant 😂
Jazu Neon tl;dr
You don't need money to get good.
A pro is defined by how they use their tools,
Not the tools they use.
That's what I was trying to say with the guys drawing amazing stuff with MS Paint.
I'm not saying you can't draw amazing stuff with more simple and limited programs. I'm saying the more advanced programs make it easier and provide more options.
How could people take it any other way!! Shocked, thought that was all obvious.
But thank you for explaining it for others.
Jazu Neon can’t be bothered to read that
Yeah I wouldn't either 😂
People needs to chill out, it's a first impression video. Of course he can't give a 100% accurate review of these programs after such a short time. This is only his very first impressions of them, there's no need to get so upset over a program.
Skap n pie
This.
This is the best thing ive seen in the comments section
there are people that are looking for a drawing program that watched this video, so people want to inform them on why they think there current program is the better one. They want to switch them to their preferred program. Of course when they start throwing a shitfest about it, they are making their program that they are defending look worse then they want it to.
Thank you
I would really love to see an updated video like this, recomparing all the free programs and how they've changed and improved, as well as all the new free programs that are available!
And maybe one with paid programs as well. This is the only video I've seen that rates them even slightly objectively

something i'd like to point out about medibang paint pro and firealpaca is that they are made by the same company, which is why they feel similar. medibang is in general the more professional feeling of the two and that's on purpose. Another thing is that firealpaca does actually have an animation feature. a very crude one, but it's there.
Going into this i kinda wished you'd have covered sai, but after seeing the video i have a feeling you wouldn't like it much, and for reasons i get. in its current state, sai is ancient, and doesn't look like much, but SAI2 is currently in development and i'm curious to see what you'd think of it once that is out. I use SAI 2 development build for most of my artwork so it it's quite functional, but again, i doubt it'd necessarily be to your liking.
Rebaka-Chan hi Rebaka I love your videos ;v;; also I agree
Don't you have to pay $45 for Sai? Because he mentioned that they were all under $20 and no subscription based payments.
sai is around 40$ USD, so not quite in the range of this video, however it's still fairly affordable compared to photoshop.
You can use sai2 right now, it's kinda early release but I've been using it for like 2 years... Small changes from sai1 but not terrible. Blur tool is gone but you can use the watercolour brush I think it is to do basically the same thing. Much bigger brushes though, and actually works with my ugee tablet on windows 10 for pressure sensitivity.
I've never tried SAI2, I only use SAI, would you reccomend getting SAI2 for someone who likes the original SAI program?

Lololol listening to Jazza defend his circle drawing skills has definitely been the highlight of my day.
well, at least he's not doing a hexagon test
A bit disappointed with the FireAlpaca review, I understand that you felt this way about the program, but as someone who had never done digital art and started out with FA, I like it a lot, and managed to grow using it. Also, I thought the circle test was a bit unfair, it's common knowledge amongst FA users that you need to set your correction to a slightly higher value, and you will get gorgeous results :)
Agreed. I have been using FireAlpaca for a while now, and I can make amazing art, even though I'm a mediocre/bad artist.
Agreed!!
Agnanas02 well here's the thing, this was a first time impression. I used Alpaca and I didn't know about the correction tool until later on.
Also on how Medibang and firealpaca are made from the same team if I am correct, which I believe I am.
I have used Firealpaca a few times before jumping to Krita some days ago, and I must admit that Krita feels much more comfortable, easier and fun to use, but Firealpaca had a nice curve tool (can't get the Krita curve tool to work as I wish >_>) and was a decent opportunity to get into digital art for the first time, I learned some helpful things about layering and stuff ^^ but right now I'm pretty happy with Krita, I kinda loved it since the first second using it, but everyone has different needs and expectations in terms of the different features all the various programs provide :) even MS Paint is a great tool if the user knows his/her stuff ^^
Hi Jazza, I've been a long time viewer and I am finally doing the research to look for some beginners tools to get into digital art! I was so happy to find this on your channel! Are you ever going to do this again? Reviewing any other programs/tools like Pixlr or others that you heard of that you think we would benefit from trying out?
Really love your content and thanks for doing what you love!
I make props and prop templates and inkscape is pretty ideal for that sort of work! I definitely wouldn't try to make any art with it, but it is really nice for working with a specifically sized area for templates and making exports of certain sizes. Inserting an image and scaling it to whatever size you need is really easy and drawing over it in another layer is probably the best use for it, as far as I've experienced

Having worked professionally with both GIMP and Inkscape I can say for certain that they shouldn't have been on the list for "Photoshop alternatives".
GIMP is for editing photos and retouching images, you COULD create art with it, but wouldn't necessary recommend it.
Inkscape as you correctly assumed is for creating clipart and similar artworks (for prints and such), you shouldn't really be creating the original artwork in it from scratch, but rather bring in a sketch or reference image from another program and work from there.
just to add on: if you want to see GIMP and Inkscape used the way they're meant to be, watch some videos from Logos By Nick. Nick is a professional graphic designer who uses free/open source tools in his job and actively avoids paid programs, and he gets some pretty awesome results from GIMP and Inkscape
Gimp is really good for beginners cuz it doesn't have a crap ton of features that can overwhelm someone just starting yet it has enough features to get things done
Inkscape does look quite like Corel Draw, be it interface or the intended use
Yeah, I use inkscape to create logos. I only use GIMP create gifs
Exactly! Inkscape is an Adobe Illustrator alternative, not a Photoshop alternative. It's obvious this guy has never worked in a commercial design studio and never had a need to use vector based programs. After watching this video and seeing these glaring errors, it just shows that Jazza is more a CZcams artist then he is a real world digital artist.
I mainly use Firealpacca for lineart and block colouring, because of the tolerance feature you can make very smooth and natural looking lineart with your mouse
I agree! I'm a FireAlpaca mouse artist too :)
I have been using GIMP as an illustrator for a long time. I wanted to have a look at Alternative programs because I felt like it wasn't the best (although I could use it with a lot of practice) and now seeing this confirms my suspicion that I haven't been using the right program. Thanks so much Jazza! Kita it is!
When I started digital drawing I used Mangastudio 5 and Clip Studio Paint, now I using Krita cause a friend recommend it to me and it's way more fun drawing when you can talk with friends about the program.
I hope I can update to Pro create soon

i'm going to like and express thank you simply because when isearched up top free photoshop alternatives i ended up seeing and using Gimp, and inkscape for vector art. Oh my socks did i know something was wrong when i found it surprisingly difficult or actively unenjoyable to try and accomplish simple tasks in those programs. so thank you.
I've been using fire alpaca for a while so watching this was fun, seeing that I could essentially upgrade or just check out new programs that I haven't seen before for a very low price. ^-^
Inkscape is actually a pretty powerful tool for logo design. It's not the most polished or well designed, but there's a lot you can do with it. It's just a replacement for Illustrator, not Photoshop.
I could see where things were going by the time he got to Inkscape. Even though he pointed out the "elephant in the room" of it being a vector graphics application, he then proceeded to (attempt to) use it like another Photoshop-esque raster-drawing application. Using Inkscape that way _will_ drive you to drink :D. I put that effort up there with re-creating Jazza's opening animation with oh, I dunno...Blender.
On the other hand, once I understood the limitations of vectors--(I never used Illustrator)--by using Inkscape to ink penciled sketches, I was eventually able to do some pretty nifty tricks with it. My personal pinnacle was vectorizing a photograph of an automobile. By using color samples from the original and applying them to appropriately-shaped and stacked gradients, I was able to re-create the image at near photo-realism, with fewer than a dozen of Inkscape's tools, if that many. But it required a _completely_ different approach to achieve that result than one would use in a Photoshop work-alike.
Something else I learned while doing vector inking, at least in Inkscape, not only do you have layers in the traditional sense, but each shape you put down _is it's own layer_ . So they can be stacked and rearranged on an X, Y *and* Z axis--even within a defined layer, which probably explains why he was unable to move some of the scribbles he was trying to grab.
What I'd like to see though, is how Photoshop _itself_ would fare in terms of usability from the perspective of someone who never used it.
(FYI: I typically jump back and forth between Krita, Clip Studio Paint EX, Inkscape, and the extremely ancient Micrografx Picture Publisher)
his focus was very narrow, basically, i work one way and does the tool work that specific way. out of those i've tried gimp and krita only, and found krita utterly useless: i could draw nothing, i couldn't pick a colour and see its rgb, i couldn't crop an image. so because it doesn't work the way that makes sense to me, i rate it 0 but i know someone who does great work with it. i also know someone who does stunning work with paintstorm, which jaz also rated poorly.
I agree it’s powerful. But it is even more powerful, not only for logo design. It’s the only tool I use for creating designs at work such as web illustrations, postcards, or even small one-page PDF brochures. Inkscape’s user interface has its flaws but all in all it is easy to use and logical.
inkscape.org/en/gallery/
Gimp and Inkscape probably shouldn't have been in the list to begin with. Not because they're bad, (I've used both in paid work) but because one is a photo editor and the other is for graphic design. It would be like using Powerpoint to write a report just because it has a text tool.
Exactly...
Photoshop is also not intended to be used for drawing, it's meant for photo editing. GIMP, Inkscape, and Photoshop are all photo-editors, not drawing programs, but they're good enough at it to compete in the same genre.
Inkscape is a vector graphics editing program, not a photo editor...
21:40
also, photoshop isn't an art program either, but many people use it as an art program.
I just want to take a moment, and say something. Gimp is the equivalent of a free photoshop. Both are meant to be used for editing photos (photoshop especially, I wonder if any of you forgot about the whole thing about photoshopping something to know being a metaphor of editing something? and the fact that adobe has a program for drawing and digital design called illustrator, I should know because I use it in my computers class), but can be used for drawings. I, myself use gimp. And I can say that the first while of using it was difficult, but it is a free art program. It is primarily an image manipulator, but it has all the tools to be used for art, just like photoshop does.
Thank you Jazza! Another great video.
Thank you for the reviews! Exactly what I was looking for :D
Notes:
FireAlpaca and Medibang are made by the same company. Medibang is more suited for comics and illustrations, while FireAlpaca is based on cartoons because it has an animation feature.
If you want complex things, you can do it if you try. There are useres of medibang who have made good works with it. (I'm biased because I've been using medibang for two years. Good video tho)
Clockbirds...
I wanna see a Firealpaca/Medibang challenge now
Yes
I've actually been using MediBang for a while now, and it's actually very nice! If you create an account you can download more brushes from their cloud. Though, it should be better shown.
Panonne Yeah, but I just wanna see how Jazza handles it. It's really simple honestly.
roseyorsageiwonder I used to use the cloud brushes but then started using the watercolour brushes. It's really smooth once you get the hang of it.
I've been using FireAlpaca for bloody years, it's actually pretty good when you get in depth, but unfortunately, (As shown with the circle challenge) you need to change some details to make it usable. It does take time, but you can produce lovely work, and you can make your own brushes, so the brush opportunity is unlimited.
I know this is one of your older videos but still very helpful for a newbie into digital art such as myself! Thank you I downloaded Krita last night. It past my circle test! Lol!
Just bought a tablet (waiting for it to come) it will be my first one and I'm looking at free programs, thank you Jazza you have made this alot easier for me to decide, and you showed that krita even has a animation program which will help me out alot with my channle
Firealpaca is actually pretty easy to use once you figure everything out but its one of those art programs you learn to use over a gradual period of time
citrus meat ikr. I think that he just has too many high expectations.
Fire alpaca works amazing for me
he was right about it being an upgrade to ms paint. i don't like most of the features but its been great to sketch and line in and maybe some simple shading
JUSTICEMO he doesn't have high expectations, firealpaca just wasn't what he was trying to find in this video (a good free/cheap program with depth). Yes, the program is good for simple things, but if you're looking for a photoshop replacement (the original point of the video), firealpaca doesn't make the cut.
It works OK for me, except my tablet doesn't respond in the middle section of the program, and I only know how to use it BC my friend showed me, I did use it for a while and made some pretty OK stuff. I probably wouldn't go back to using it though
To be honest, inkscape is not an alternative to photoshop but an alternative to illustrator. And for that it's pretty good.
yeah i have no idea why it's here. it's actually a pretty close clone to microsoft's corel draw. it's worse, but a usable substitute.
I worked with inkscape when I started with vector illustrations and then switched to Illustrator and its way better.
Message me if you want lifetime access to Photoshop CC.
Inkscape is super buggy though. I was using it for some time and had to give up on it.
Yes, a few years ago I tried learning AI but didn't get very far. A couple of CZcams "teacup" tutorials later and I was up to speed with Inkscape - it's much easier. Also it works with SVG which AI has only relatively recently switched to.
I love Krita, and use it regularly, it is the first and only art program that I have used/needed to use.
The problem with the circle tests are most likely to boil down to tablet/pen drivers. The first time I used my Kamvas Pro 16 in GIMP, I got slow motion pen tracking. Updating the program to the current version solved this completely.
I actually was amazed at how you reacted to Firealpaca. Then I downloaded Krita and learned what I was missing and, wow. Thanks Jazza! I love you and your brother!
I've been using firealpaca for a while and am hesitant to switch. Do you think it's worth it?
I'm deciding whether to switch over to Krita...I really like FireAlpaca but I don't know if Krita would be better for me. I'm so indecisive :'D
Lol I’ve used fire alpaca for so long, and started getting emotional when I deleted it a few minutes ago
I tried it and it wasn't for me. I'm sticking to firealpaca. Maybe because I use a mouse, instead of a tablet and therefore do it slower.
I do I have to say that Firealpaca is a great drawing tool. I've used it since I started digital art. I honestly though Jazza was going to love it. So I agree, it was a incredibly unpredictable reaction.
**quietly uninstalls firealpaca and downloads krita instead**
Long live Krita
dud......... nice👌👌👌
I used to use krita, and for awhile I did. It's a great program, but now I use firealpaca because it's a lot simpler for the same quality artwork. Just depends on what ya looking for.
I have both (^∇^)
Question: Has all the issues for Krita on Mac been fixed yet?
I've been using Medibang for nearly 7 years, and am happy as a clam with it. For a free program, it's absolutely amazing. It does nearly everything I'd like it to.
Very insightful my dude. Definitely getting Krita
I actually use firealpaca and once you actually try to draw a picture and mess around with stuff, it is actually really amazing!
Actually actually actually
Inkscape is a graphic design program. It's for designing logos, brochures, posters, business cards etc. Gimp is primarily focused on photo editing.
Thank's for the video my dude. I ordered an art tablit the other day I should be getting it later today and I wanted to use the right program. Medibang look's Awesome, I think I'll use it on my stream today! :)
I love Krita! Glad you reviewed it.
Can you do best free animation programs?
just get a cracked version of flash and cracked photoshop. Theres also a way to get an unlimited free trial for all adobe products
You can animate on FireAlpaca!
Macromedia Flash MX 2004(which is free from adobe now)is a fantastic animation program that many people have used before it was just named Flash 8 and up(now renamed Animate CC) Basically it's V7.0 plus it uses ActionScript 2.0. Now days 3.0 is used but I don't think anyone should have to many issue making a flash game with it. Now it is a bit outdated but it should satisfy a animator fairly well. has onion skins, tween, fps you can change,Layers, etc Honestly it isn't to much behind from it's time for what the newer flash is/Animate CC it might not have a few things. but for the most part it should do for quite a few people. It also supports pressure pen's/screens and it works fantastically once you turn down the smoothing a little bit.
yes pussy
krita has an animation function
GIMP and Inkscape definitely come with steep learning curves, especially if you're coming from Photoshop and Illustrator. They're still quite powerful and recognized applications, even though they could be more friendly. Keep in mind how long it took to learn the Adobe products you're now familiar with.
this
The problem is they both have steep learning curves for the UI itself. A UI should barely have a learning curve at all.
@@LagMasterSam if this was a video from someone who had never used Photoshop, they'd be saying "what the hell does this button do?" all the time.
@@LagMasterSam That's why you google tutorials like I did when figuring out Photoshop.
The last I poked around in the GIMP settings it did have a place for the pressure sensitivity also. I can't remember just where that was, but I do remember finding it when I had been having issues with it on my bamboo in other programs and was trying to figure that out.
I'm honestly really surprised that he disliked firealpaca so much. I've been using it for years(including my pfp) and it's worked very well! And I've tried to use Photoshop as well(though not for very long) and the only problem I have with firealpaca is that it doesn't have a liquify tool, which kinda sucks since I mess up proportions quite a bit and have to redraw over a "mesh transformed" version of what I just drew because the quality dropped so much. There's also a little bit of a learning curve with the 3d snap, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty helpful.
This video got me to try out krita, a program I've been avoiding! It's a bit confusing but I really like it!
I hope none of you get offended by this! It's his first impression and he is used to expensive Photoshop so he can tell flaws more obviously. If you use one of the programs he didn't like, don't be down on yourself! Be proud of your work!
Derpy Selfie Gaming I agree but at the same time I use Gimp and I cant help but feel hurt cause I have created amazing peaces in it including some animations (which he didnt mention). Sensitivity in Gimp is also not hard to find at all and mostly goes off the tablet settings you have anyways. Each brush is dif also.. Some have no presure sensitivity while others do. I find photoshop MUCH harder to use. The learning curve is much harder in photoshop I find then in Gimp. I also still find myself going in to Gimp to do stuff I cant do in Photoshop while doing a art peace.
I know each person is going to be dif but I just dont see how gimp got such a bad rating
I can't believe there are people who get emotionally hurt when some CZcamsr who is used to using a certain program doesn't like a different one.
Cute Kittie Kat yes, but don't forget it was just a first impression kind of rating. Maybe if he would have spent a week or so, he would find the features he needed, but it would still affect his rating since he needed such a long time to find features and get used to it. If you can make great pieces in the program, that's great! But the learning curve is there, and that's (at least that's how I understood it)the biggest problem with the program.
Cute Kittie Kat Just curious what could you possibly do in gimp that you could not in photoshop? I've tried gimp several times throughout the years and always found it a pretty horrible experience. Sure I could power through it and learn how to get used to the programs short comings but i'd rather just focus on my work than bad software.
Jonothan Kolberg I knew as soon as I clicked on this he'd have a bias toward photoshop because adobe has some of the most bass-ackwards shortcut keys I've ever dealt with. CTRL+Z is universally undo but it's undo and redo in PS, you have to open up a fucking MENU to undo more than once so as a kid in highschool I didn't know that and actually thought I only got one undo in the damn thing, then I took a class on using it and found otherwise. Redo is universally ctrl+Y except in PS it's ctrl+A+Z or CTRL+shift+Z (I forgot which) which is not very intuitive or obvious and was something I had to learn from the documentation. Adobe have to be special snowflakes and not do what every other damn program in the god damn universe does I guess, they probably do it for exactly this reason: it creates bias against other programs and makes it hard to transition from theirs.
I first used FireAlpaca for making digital art but then I encountered an error in saving my drawings so I switched to using Krita. Krita was really difficult to use the first time I did because of all the different panels and settings but once you get used to it, it becomes sorta easier to use. The brushes have a wide range and you can customize your interface to how you like it. I actually used Krita to draw my profile picture, hehe. I think Krita is a really good alternative to Photoshop because it was designed to look like Photoshop and you can produce really cool drawings with it even though it's sorta laggy sometimes.
Ccinee11 thing is, I use firealpaca (used it for my profile picture hah) and I did try using Krita for a bit, but I have a very slow laptop so Krita would lag and often give up on me, that’s why I’m kinda stuck with firealpaca lol. I‘d keep in mind that if you have a very bad laptop like i do, Krita won‘t be performing as well.
I love Krita, I fixed the lag, I forgot how I did but ever since I've used Krita and It hasn't lagged much at all
you probably switch to gpu or cpu
It is worth trying Krita 3.3 if you were using an older version on Windows and had slowdowns. They changed the hardware acceleration backend in 3.3 to fix a lot of glitches with using GL directly, so you should be able to reenable it, and with hardware acceleration it uses very little CPU.
You can also customize the interface in FireAlpaca
I would like to say for those who don't know Autodesk Sketchbook that was mentioned to be subscription-based is no longer subscription-based it is also a really good recommendation for a starting art program.
And now it's US $20
Watched this a couple of years ago when I didn’t even have a drawing tablet. Nice to go back now that I actually have one.
I've used FireAlpaca and Krita. Both free....for now.
Nite Lights you're everywhere!😱
Krita (and Gimp and Inkscape) is open source so it's created by a bunch of online volunteer developers. You can even talk to them on their website and suggest stuff for the program. It'll always be free :)
What's you opinion of FireAlpaca
Thank God krita ia free I love krita sm
Aswell as medibang
i cant believe you were saying Fire Alpaca and Microsoft paint were very close.
I started out my digital art journey with Fire Alpaca. It was easy and was my gateway into other apps. I'm using Autodesk now ;)
Great! I got Krita but haven't used it yet and now I know it was a good choice! Ty
It's actually good to know that Fire Alpaca isn't what it's cracked up to be. Fans had been requesting me to use it since I'm well known for loving alpacas. By the way, please draw an alpaca for one of your videos I would love to see that. 😍
Livdaneix I dunno I make some decent art with firealpaca, I personally prefer photoshop though lol
Firealpaca is actually pretty good. he just barely looked at it. And you can do a lot with it if you try to learn like most people do when they get a new program (I never go right in drawing I look over everything so I can make fairly ok stuff)
Sunset Dai yah he really didn’t really look deep into it but if you do it can be very nice to use and it has an animation feature, a crude one but it’s there and it works
.
its actually a good program if you take the time and set everything up
Firealpaca and medibang are made by the same company. There not copying eachother.
Firealpaca is more for animation where medibang is more for just drawings.
Firealpaca was originally made with no animation a newish (not that new) update added animation
Sunset Dai
It's Really not a new update, animation in it has been possible for a few years.
Fire alpaca isn't really for animation. It's an art program with an animation feature added on.
Fire alpaca isn't really for animation. It's an art program with an animation feature added on.
I use it for animation though and it's pretty good.
As of recently, FireAlpaca definitely has more brushes and more tools, but he does make a good point. There’s still much to be desired when it comes to the brushes and cuztomizability of your tools.
true especially since i cannot import photoshop brushes to firealpaca, honestly as of now that is the only thing I firealpaca lacks for me
this is really helpful, thank you so much!
GIMP might not be the best for drawing but I gotta say I absolutely *love* it for image editing. The amount of tools it provides is staggering for me.
actually, it's pretty good for drawing on Linux based system when using the 2.8 version, and 2.6 version on windows is what someone should have told jazza to try out :D
Medibang is good for beginners honestly. At first I was confused since Medibang was the first program that I started using for digital art and I used my phone. But later on I found it a really easy program. Then I got my mobile tablet and I really enjoyed it. (Do note I made my profile pic with it) and when I got used to the watercolour it was really smooth. There's also this program called Ibispaint X which is way more advanced and... I didn't like it, I'm still getting used to drawing on a really smooth surface, so, without the sharp pen brush from Medibang, lineart is hard and the blending in my opinion is better with Medibang's wet watercolour than with Ibispaint's various watercolour based brushes. Overall I feel like Medibang is better for beginners, mostly because of the sharp pen which, in my opinion, is very very helpful.
Medibang is really better than Ibis Paint
thats why the profile pic was bad
I use IbisPaint and I've gotten used to it, and when you begin to understand how it works, it's really easy. There is a learning curve, and getting past it might be hard, but worth it. I might give Medibank a try ^^
Da Dragon Durp yeah, all it needs is an animation feature
program* not programme
20:45
Jazza:*shows the circle test*
Also jazza:*draws perfect circles to show the bad circle test*
He was speed drawing the circles to see if the program could keep up. He only drew good circles while nothing was being input into the program,so there was no lag.
thanks for making this video :) I really needed a good free drawing app
Inkscape is IMHO a pretty great tool, it's not competing against Photoshop, it's competing against Illustrator, which is a different market niche.
I have to agree, it's a lot more suitable for graphic design than art. Its learning curve wasn't that steep for me, in fact I had a harder time figuring out Illustrator than Inkscape.
Yes I use it for posters but not for sketching
Also useful for 2-axis CNC purposes.
Jazza, the circle test failed in Firealpacca and Medibang is because you have your stroke correction set really low
The Art Furry yea but he didn’t know about that feature because it was a first impression over a short period of time
The Art Furry Yep pretty much
It's a very well known feature most art programs come with, I was surprised jazza didn't know it existed
I was thinking the same :D
why would that be slow on default, he said even if it can be fixed by settings, I don't care, because you cant just download it and start making stuff, which sucks
The comic creation option is what fire alpaca is all about XD You create what you want in another program, then transfer it into fire Alpaca and work with the 'foils' to make the backgrounds and textures XD
Great video, just what I needed.
I use Krita to play around pixel art gifs, but from what i know all the animation Krita can give is just frames. There isnt much options as normal animation programs, but its good to play around
Natalia Carrión lo
Krita's for classical animation, which means manual tweening. This gives much more control than Flash. If you're looking for something like Flash, try Synfig Studio.
I believe features like tweening were planned later down the line
krita's animation set is still very new, and may even get tweening and stuff later on.
Yeah. Krita major updates usually come in kickstarter backing. When they post another up it's worth your attention.
