Remember in the first movie Peeta said "I just don't want them to change me" and that's exactly what they did.
About Gale. What annoys me about him is that he was friends with Katniss a long time, yet never made a move. As soon as he saw another man liked Katniss, suddenly he had something to say. He likes Katniss, they're friends but does he love her or does he just want her because another man does.
umm, I think that’s far from what Gale thinks. They were still friends before Katniss got chosen and I’m pretty sure things were going slow and they both liked each other. It’s natural for him to become jealous bc obviously he liked her. He definitely loves her, they kissed plenty of times. I don’t see any wrong in the way he reacted because anyone would’ve reacted the same way.

Nah, Gale guilting Katniss for feeling anything for Peeta whether fake or real is toxic af. As a supposedly platonic friend that was wrong of him to do in Catching Fire. And in this movie he knows Katniss is constantly facing life or death situations & he worries about who she loves - it’s obnoxious
I don't think this makes his character as bad as people make it seem. He's just really jealous and he's obviously aware of the situation but really wants her attention.

I get that he’s not emotionally mature enough to recognize his passive aggressive behavior isn’t helping the situation, but that doesn’t make it less annoying to watch. It’s like nails on a chalkboard for me and most Gale combatants I’d guess. It sounds as though you have a higher level of tolerance for his attitude 🤷🏽♀️
It seems like they were always close friends with a little romantic underside. But that kiss that he stole at the beginning of catching fire was the first kiss they've ever had....
If he really loved her he would have made a move way before this. He just thought she'd always be there for whenever he decided to make it official. Then when she not only didn't die in the game's, but gave her first kiss to someone else all of a sudden he is pissing on his territory...GTFOH #teampeta

White roses represent President Snow, not Katniss. He always wears them. He was pruning his rose bushes in the 1st movie when he warned the first game maker, Seneca Crane, about giving the districts too much hope. They are his “calling card”
I came here to say this. It was a threat to her. He blew up her whole district and left that there to taunt her.

a fun fact: during the recording of the first part of the film, the producers decided to keep Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson recording separately, away from each other, so the scenes where Katniss sees Peeta on TV and when Peeta sees Katniss in the wreckage of District 12 video, is basically a pure reaction and a mix of acting and the reality of how much they missed each other. They created a very strong bond of friendship during the recording of the entire Hunger Games Saga and became really close friends.

White roses are Snow's signature. He knew Katniss would go see what happened to 12, so he left the Victors' Village untouched and had that single rose placed in the vase where she would see it, in the very room that he earlier told her to imagine her district reduced to ashes, thousands upon thousands dead. It's a taunt.
That moment when if you think about it you realize how scary strong peeta is cause if he did that much damage while he was malnourished and weak af and all those people had to stop him image what would have happened or he could do if he was healthy and at his strongest like bro could literally probably snap her in half and I feel like people don’t realize that peeta is legit a beast especially when he’s angry or trying to protect himself or someone he loves and honestly I’m tired of gale I’ve been tired of him since the second movie like boy she legit fighting for her life mentally and physically she not worried about dating or love and for him to guilt trip her all the time about peeta is bs and he petty for that

I’m not sure if it’s explained in the book, but in the movie my interpretation of Peeta is that he probably thought Katniss was also being held by the Capitol, and the propo video was confirmation that she was not. So the second he knew she was safe he risked his life to warn her and district 13.

What’s crazy is Peeta saying in the first movie how he didn’t want the Capitol to change him, and if he’s gonna die he wants to still be him. Sad that they had to strip his identity to torture katniss, and ofc tortured him physically in the process just to turn him against her smh

What you said at the end of the video, about Peeta being there physically but still gone mentally--that informs the entirety of the final movie. How Katniss processes the trauma of what was done to Peeta, and the fallout of everything that has happened up to this point. I love both of these movies, but the final one is very different from this one. Definitely prepare yourself, it's a LOT.

The boy did NOT say will you fight FOR us, that boy asked is she there to fight WITH us. They didn't think at seeing Katniss "oh we are saved" they thought, if this girl can stand up we can too.

I think if Katniss mom and sister had died of starvation or just some accident she would've been more willingly to join a rebellion in the districts even if she never went into the games. But because she wants to keep her family alive she was OK to dance whenever Snow commanded. Which is understandable.
You have to realize that as a hostage of the capitol, Peeta only got the info they gave him. Anything they did he had to assume was a lie even that Katniss was still alive.
Gale pisses me off the entire time. Poor girl has a literal REVOLUTION on her back, trying to navigate politics, survive, etc. And he's over here like "do you like me? Yes/no" Like, we have enough going on, can you let that go for a second?

The roses in the victor’s village and dropped on 13 were a message from Snow to Katniss. The pearl is a symbol of Peeta in the original book Effie claimed her cleverness of telling sponsors that Katniss and Peeta were pearls because the were from 12 and if you put enough pressure on coal it turns into coal so when he gave her the pearl In the quarter quell arena it was an inside joke.
Katniss considered rebellion for Gale, but choose rebellion for Peeta.
At this point Katniss knew her feelings for Peeta (“I'm rattled by the turn in the conversation. The implications that I could so readily dispose of Peeta, that I'm in love with Gale that the whole thing has been an act.” and “In the end, the only person I truly want to comfort me is Haymitch, because he loves Peeta, too.”) and that it was not an act. However, with his loss she still could not process Katniss is her mother’s daughter and became paralyzed in grief with Peeta’s loss much like when her mother lost her father.
Katniss on Peeta:
***Sometimes when I'm alone, I take the pearl from where it lives in my pocket and try to remember the boy with the bread, the strong arms that warded off nightmares on the train, the kisses in the arena.
***You're alive," I whisper, pressing my palms against my cheeks, feeling the smile that's so wide it must look like a grimace. Peeta's alive.
***My mockingjay pin now lives with Cinna's outfit, but there's the gold locket and the silver parachute with the spile and Peeta's pearl. I knot the pearl into the corner of the parachute, bury it deep in the recesses of the bag, as if it's Peeta's life and no one can take it away as long as I guard it.

But not his death, no, nothing so merciful as that. Snow will ensure that his life is much more worse than death.

In the twilight of the morphling, Peeta whispers the word and I go searching for him. It's a gauzy, violet-tinted world, with no hard edges, and many places to hide. I push through cloud banks, follow faint tracks, catch the scent of cinnamon, of dill. Once I feel his hand on my cheek and try to trap it, but it dissolves like mist through my fingers.
When I finally begin to surface into the sterile hospital room in 13, I remember. I was under the influence of sleep syrup. My heel had been injured after I'd climbed out on a branch over the electric fence and dropped back into 12. Peeta had put me to bed and I had asked him to stay with me as I was drifting off. He had whispered something I couldn't quite catch. But some part of my brain had trapped his single word of reply and let it swim up through my dreams to taunt me now. "Always.
***I squeeze my eyes shut and try to reach for him across the hundreds and hundreds of miles, to send my thoughts into his mind, to let him know he is not alone. But he is. And I can't help him

I love this movie so much but I’ll never forgive them for mixing the shots of Finnick’s story + the rescue team in the Capitol. People who hadn’t read the book think Finnick’s part there is just filler and ignore it :((((

Please watch the new Hunger games that just came out this year. It’s a prequel so you will get to see how they did the hunger games back then and the movie is mostly about President Snow & kind of shows why he is the way he is.

The actor portraying Masala (the camera man) is Evan Ross. He stars in the 2010 film "Mooz-Lum" a seldom seen fascinating work. Evan gives an outstanding performance. He has acted in more than 40 films and series. His sister is Tracie Ellis Ross and his mother's first name is Diana. Yeah. That one.

Also one more thing I gotta keep reminding myself when I watching these movies ( I just watched them first time 1 or 2 ago ) when I’m like why she’s kissing him and bugging out that he’s not with her, Katniss is still a child shes like 16 maybe 17 so she’s still figuring life out, even with all the growing up she’s had to do at home then to survive in the HG but at the end of all that at that time she’s still a young girl figuring things out, so I give her the space we all needed to do that

My problem with Gale he gives no consideration to what Katniss needs because he is concerned with her picking him over Peeta. He is not an idiot he knows exactly how Katniss feels about Peeta even if she won’t admit it. The 4 kisses that Katniss shares eith Gale are not romantic. The one in this movie is number 3 from the books and it’s a total guilt trip from him to her {“I knew you'd kiss me."
"How?" I say because I didn't know myself.
"Because I'm in pain," he says. "That's the only way I get your attention." He picks up the box. "Don't worry, Katniss. It'll pass." He leaves me before I can answer.}
I mean Gale is so completely toxic, This whole exchange between Gale and Katniss demonstrates the toxicity

exactly Jamir that's why Katniss is understandable but she's not my favorite, she's not a revolutionary she's interested in just keeping her loved ones safe. I like Joanna and Gale
Calling Gale toxic is unfair to that character. Gale is a teenager in a poor part of society. If the game didn't randomly pick Katniss's little sister, the natural progression in Katniss and Gale's friendship seemed to be relationship, marriage, family. But that's not what happened and he had to watch Katniss go from "I don't even like Peeta" to kissing him on TV, to clearly being in love with him on TV and in real life. Of course he's not gonna take all that gracefully. AND, he was the first person to volunteer to go save Peeta.
Sadly, with or without the circumstances of a teenager in poverty in an unpleasant society, he remains a toxic character. It plays out a lot more in the books, but Katniss never thought about having children with Gale, nor did she give rise to a future as a family, as you say. Not only was Gale supremely controlling and abusive (in terms of attitude) to Katniss, but he also had the audacity to invalidate all of her suffering for the Hunger Games regardless of how she felt. Regardless of whether or not he was toxic in the relationship, he as a teenager and as a person has attitudes that are a red flag above all, and I didn't tell the details of the books.
