Let's Paint Some Stowage! And Other Finishing Touches... Panzer II Restoration - Part 3 (Final)

- My friends, tonight we're painting all the carried stowage on this model - tent rolls, tarps, crates etc. We're also going to conclude this project with some extra weathering techniques such as rust tones over chipping, mud effects, weathering on the tracks, fuel stains, polished metal effects, the whole nine. This model will also receive a scenic base, but that's a story for another video!

Night Shift, Plasmo and Bovington tank museum all post on the same day. Is this heaven?
Yes, yes it is😇
Literally just watched all of them lmao.... It's a good day
All planets of scale models are aligned today
You stole my comment!! First one that popped up to 🤣🤣
@@claudiomoncada4763 si sono d’accordo altro che San Remo...
One small element I really appreciated . . . the white bowls in your stowage. They look incredibly interesting and ultra-authentic!
Those were a spontaneous idea... like, what else could I 3D model and print? Bowls, I could paint them white and add some rust and chipping (chipping everywhere!)
Agree 100%!!!
Jerry’s gotta get those cornflakes in somehow
@@NightShiftScaleModels I love them! Were the chips done with a brush?
Plasmo + Night Shift = an AWESOME Friday
Those "metal" bowls are true works of art, unbelievable skills! Actually, all the stowage is!
Thank you , Uncle Martin
That first tarp turned out fabulous! Love the different shading techniques. All the stowage looked so good...all the little details. 😎
I
Pimp mien panzer sounds like a cool show where they save abandoned rusted tanks and restore them then add in stereos and massaging seat for the whole crew and a nice paint job
Bro, you are a Genius!!!! Bravo!!!!
Aaaaaaaa, my Night Shift fix for Friday !!!!!!!!!! Great vid, looks really nice 👍😉🙂👌
PREFECT ! the bags looks real -very real .
Love your stuff, Night Shift. Outstanding work as always. I have the answer to your observation about bright silver weld lines and why they didn't rust.....armour plate was welded with stainless steel. Ordinary steel welds would crack as they cooled. For some reason, stainless steel does not crack when used to weld armour plate.
Keep up the good work.
Your love for tarps is very evident on/in this restoration.
Always a pleasure. I'm able to get a cloth surface texture on plastic or resin by dry brush. To give it a raised blanket thickness past this level a real rust coating to then dry brush over.
You plasmo NMB primed model works are the best of the best. Plus Max’s models. Such good channels thanks for you hard work. You guys are modeling gems. Great stuff my friend
I think those yellow stripes on the old version were quite interesting, of course this restored version is superior. Awesome video as always.
Yeah, they were inspired by a not-so-accurate camouflage profile from some Polish publication. I kinda wanted to do the same camouflage all over again, but everyone on Patreon agreed on a plain grey camo :)
I always enjoy your voice. You sound like you would be a pleasant person to know.
The paint job on those rusted white bowls in the stowage is... sublime.
Night shift, would you consider doing a tank in the rain? With water pooling everywhere?
Oh I like!
Ooh I like!
a thin layer of Elmers glue, will look like water when dried.
Proper wet effects fluid would be probably a better idea than wood glue :)
Mod Podge does this.
Finally found the best tutorial on painting stowage! Just finished my Panzer IV G DAK version, so Tunisia Grocery Store will be on business soon
awesome and educational as always
I’m always impressed!!!
Very, very nice! Great effects!
The switch at the end from the old paint job to the restoration created a kind of optical illusion for me. The increased detail and restraint on the individual effects made it look like it was a larger scale model.
The updated paint is much better 👍
Great done. Looks much, much better than old one. ;)
Another great piece of work! My favourite detail is definitely the little enamel bowls.
Seeing how the initial mud effects looked a lot like dust/sand really makes me want to see you do some sort of North Africa Front related model
Your idea of just OK is what many like me aspire to create 😳
The stowage looks absolutely great!
One of, if not the greatest builds I've ever seen to date. The stowage detail is awesome!
I like the reworked version more!!
Another wonderful project!! GREAT Jib😁👍
Job that is🤦♂️
Just love looking at your work. Got back into military modeling after a break of 30 years just because of your video's. Spent about £400 over the last year on paints and kits but its worth every penny. Please don't stop, an inspiration to us all
It's done! It's beautiful!
That is the best restoration of a model I've ever seen you should try something with digital camo
I'm thinking Berlin Brigade camo on a Centurion or Chieftain.
@@ScottKenny1978 yeah that looks pretty awesome it would be cool to see because it's colors not usually seen on tanks
Looks really good, can't wait to see the diorama.
i would like to see you build a danish centurion, they were a little different to the ones the brits used, amongst other things they did was to add a bustle rack made in denmark. or perhaps an m41 walker bulldog, again with the danish modifications. they had a very distinct bustle rack and an IR spotlight, they also tended to wrap camo netting around the barrel and turret. i think it would be a cool project for a man of your skill :)
Basket? You mean the thing on the back of the turret? That's the bustle rack.
The turret basket is inside the tank.
@@ScottKenny1978 oh right. fixed it. thanks
@@ninus17 no problem!
I figured it was a translation glitch.
I would love to see a destroyed tank build sometime
Awesome thanks
A big improvement. Nice work.
Wow, Amazing
Wow! Fantastic! Soooo inspiring! Thank you and carry on!
The stowage looks GREAT! :)
Looks great!
Astounding!
That looks so good!
Beautiful and very interesting video! Thanks a lot
Dear Martin, Outstanding work on vehicle. I especially loved your approach on the tarps!
Your stowage work is looking great. Don't short change yourself or your ability.
Brilliant mate - being an early war model, maybe decals on the steel helmets would have been nice. Looking forward to your next project.
Cheers Fedja
Yeah, another thing I need to buy for future projects! :)
Excellent
I love this modell and remember to make a diorama in Germany
It‘s simply beautiful ! 😍
I just love watching your projects come to life. The attention to detail is amazing and yet simple but the final result is mind-blowing. I always look forward to my Night Shift vids. Keep up the great work and stay safe my friend.
You're right about rust effects on Panzer grey and that's why I found getting the rust effects on my mill scale T-34 to be so easy.
You are a true artist !!
love it. gorgeous!
I wonder would you do an halftrack as one of your next projects. Or another 'less armored' vehicle that's mostly open. It could be an interesting experience!
Why not just a military truck :) I just need to empty my stash a little bit before I buy something new
@@NightShiftScaleModels what is the thinking behind collecting a stash of models?
Sure enough you can only build one at a time.
@@SuperDeinVadda for me personally it used to be the fear of missing out. like, what if the kit won't be available anymore? and also planning ahead... so when I already had the kit, I could also order tracks, photoetch etc. Nowadays I don't buy that many new kits and when I do I usually build them immediately (that was the case with the BMR-3M)
Amazing! Absolutely stunning. I fell upon this site ... and I am going to try to make a model.... love the attention to detail.
I love the new look. Fantastic work. You make it look so easy.
Wow! Fabulous paint job. I'm feeling really inspired to make my next build a German grey vehicle now so Uncle Night Shift, you are truly inspirational.
Nice work!
Painted plain tissue paper makes for excellent tarps, and tents. Thin cardboard with thin metal strips makes excellent boxes, and crates. Use your imagination to build different things from materials around you. Wish you could see all the detail I put on my 1/16 M16 half track. Have a nice day !!
A model example of perfection 👌🏻🥃
Thank you for another great video, Uncle NightShift!
magnifique peinture
GREAT work as always :).....................
I think that gorgeous wooden stowage box is going to fall off the tank, along with the tarp on top of it.
I love your work. Always trying new things and always working very small. Many lessons to take away from each video. Cheeers!
Gooood work!! Looks really good
Good job, looking forward to the 'diorama'! 👍
Hi Martin, you have done a fabtastic job on the Panzer III, take care and keep safe, best regards from Australia
Fantastic modeling result and entertaining 😁
Big improvement over the original model! I love the white porcelain bowls you made, they really set the time frame in a very subtle way.
Great work once again, looking forward to seeing the figures/diorama progress in the next videos.
This is a brilliant job Uncle! I really enjoyed this restoration project, and the final result did not disappoint. Keep them coming, as we all wait in anticipation for each new post.
Cheers from Australia!
Impressive
always excellent quality of the videos (as you like modelers) I really appreciated your way of doing the oil and gasoline effects
A real balance to the weathering and the stowage nice one ! Regards Gav.
As usual, great job 👏🏻 👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Fantastic work! The colour contrast on the stowage is sooooo nice, between the different warm greens, the white plates and grey jerrycans! Over all fantastic job once again!
Time to shake things up with an open top vehicle like a half track or tank destroyer! An armored car would be cool also.
I'm so tempted to build the new Archer from Tamiya, but it's such an ugly vehicle :D
great job, I will focus on your model
Awesome as ALWAYS Uncle Nitenite. Your right there with..TankArt. In my opinion.
Your wood finish is very convincing, and overall that was well done, one of your better ones I think.
They both work. I use both depending the amount of real-estate I am working with. The more room I have. The easier the glazing is to me.
Brilliant 😁👌
awsome details mate !! now i want build one!
Nice chilling and modeling friday thx uncle
Friday is the learning model, thank you for this beautiful model, in French "Magnifique « .
Those white enameled bowls add so much humanity: You KNOW Hans und Fritz used them while peeling potatoes!
Stowage
You are the fucking King of painting dirt and dust ! It’s almost funny you keep saying “It’s not bad “ 😂😂 And no - it’s not bad - it’s amazing!! Keep up the good work 👍
you put yourself down too much, though im not a tank guy, more ship guy, i love your videos
Restored looks better, but I really like the way the older ones' colors played with my eyes.
amazing ! i learn alot from your video
3:15 Impressive bowl, Martin. 👏
real plesure to watch your works
Those enamel bowls!! Wow!!!!
O it looks sick good job man
While I'm unaware of your stance towards Warhammer 40k stuff, I'd really love to see your take on on one of the tanks in WH40k. The really cartoony proportions of the tanks in the game combined with your insane realistic detailing could be really fun.
Ooo new vid no skool for me
