Bro I used your exact same set (same pokemons and same fast and charged attacks) with the difference I got Kingdra as second rival and beated Giovanni in my second try after having lost like 10 times before and hadn't even reached to face Groudon 😂 new sub!
I really appreciate the support but I'm much happier that you beat him! The main thing some people won't realize when watching my videos is that not every team I show will work for EVERY single situation with Giovanni, but the *PRINCIPLES* I talk about/methods will - for those who struggle with the fight, a prime example is the Persian having Scratch or Feint Attack... it goes very differently for most people if the Persian has Scratch and they use their typical Fighting types for that.

I don’t understand why this isn’t working for me. I’m level 40 so the Persian is a little weaker than this, I’m doing exactly this plan with slightly stronger Pokémon and I’m getting waxed. My Pokémon have very high stats too and his Pokémon are hitting me so much harder than what I’m seeing in this video

Been trying to produce Giovanni budget options for a Discord server. Vs Scratch Persian I got to try Dragon tail/Rock tomb Aggron, which works pretty well even at cp2100 vs a Persian scaled with a level 47 account

Their PokemonGOLive.com blog is a good source, or their Twitter which posts the GO Live blog news, so that you can stay current on their event announcements like Shadow Groudon

Definitely no :) The Grunts in disguise are not needed in any way to get to the real Giovanni

The main thing that's hard to advise when people ask for help is that I don't know which specific Giovanni lineup they'll be fighting against and obviously everyone's account is very different (some people have a crapton of Pokemon and some don't).
But my videos always show Giovanni getting whooped with my Pokemon below 1500cp or in videos like this one, below 1200cp.
The *principles* or methods I discuss in every one of the videos, however, is what can apply to the battle *no matter which specific Pokemon/moves he throws at you* and so that's the part I really want people to pay attention to:
Spammy fast/charge attack combos, type resistances & strengths, generating energy during stun time, using the switch-out often for advantage, etc.
Regarding the choices you mentioned, unfortunately Dragonite, Hydreigon, and Gardevoir all don't usually have quick Fast Attack & Charge Attack moves. See if you have Pokemon, regardless of CP, like Poliwrath, Scrafty, Swampert, Galarian Stunfisk, Abomasnow, Alolan Ninetales, etc etc. that I've shown across all the Giovanni videos, if they have Fast Attacks like Counter, Mud Shot, and Powder Snow, with Charge Attacks like Power-Up Punch, Muddy Water, Weather Ball, Ice Punch, etc.
If Giovanni has Garchomp in the middle spot, definitely use Ice since it's 256% super effective instead of regular super effectiveness, and for Rhyperior use Water or Grass moves against it, etc.

Kingdra will definitely be his hardest middle-spot Pokemon since Rhyperior and Garchomp both have a 256% vulnerability (Rhyp with Water/Grass and Garchomp with Ice), whereas Kingdra only takes Super Effective damage from Dragon or Fairy.
First thing is making sure you resist the Fast Attack that it's using - it can have Waterfall or Dragon Breath...Waterfall is slow but hits hard, whereas Dragon Breath is weaker but hits fast as all hell... so with Dragon Breath, resisting is important but also stopping it from attacking is even more important, so use lots of Charge Attacks to give you that stun time and take advantage of switching out to make even more stun time when you can.
I haven't tested Florges or Sylveon but they might work against Dragon Breath, but I have used Clefable with Charm and Meteor Mash for decent results (at 1500cp it can be a little rough, so power higher if you can).
Obviously if you have Mega or Legendaries, there's some good options among them like Origin Palkia vs Waterfall, or Mega Gardevoir vs Dragon Breath.
An Alolan Exeggutor with a full Dragon moveset could be somewhat effective around 2500cp or over, since it has major resistance against Waterfall (Grass Resists Water and Dragon Resists Water), but don't use it against Dragon Breath since it'll be vulnerable there.
I will try to have a video soon, however, for Giovanni with Kingdra.
@1974fatback The great thing about Rhyperior in the middle spot is that it takes 256% Super Effective damage (instead of the usual 162% or whatever) from Water and Grass, so definitely target those typings. The first Gio video I did for the Groudon lineup shows us beating his Rhyperior good - czcams.com/video/2N1wvTFgOws/video.html
Great thing about the Grass types as well is that they'll resist Rhyperior's Mud Shot.
Galarian Stunfisk with Muddy Water is an example, on the other hand, of a Pokemon that could have major resistance against Rhyp's Smack Down (but it will take Super Effective from Mud Shot so not good if Rhyperior has that) while dealing super effective damage.

Why does your Pokémon have 2 specials?

The over-charging during stun time, using your switch-out when you can, spammy fast/charge attack combos, and type resistances/strengths are things I discuss every Giovanni video and they all apply to every single last battle you can have with him regardless of Pokemon he throws at you.
Bro use a fire type
All of Giovanni's middle slot pokemons resist fire. The last two take neutral damage
