- Ride along with me in the new 2024 Nismo Z! Even though it's a bit more hardcore, it still serves as a good commuter car (even though it should come with a manual).

U might have the best job ever I hope you can do this for a living in the future ! Just easy to listen to
I had a z31 300zx back in high school and it’s so cool to see how many little Z things they incorporated in this new one!
Topher is the best automotive tester. Great video.
I...I just feel like there is something missing. I don't know for sure; I can't put my foot on it. Something inside me feels that the car doesn't have all of its soul. There's like this 3rd sense I sometimes get and my left leg twitches. When I figure out what the car is missing, I'll report back. It looks fun on the surface. 🏁
Love your videos dude
Nice car. I'm happy that, in this SUV era, Nissan still makes this type of car despite their financial situation.
I’m pretty sure Nissan is so broke now that they can’t make the R36 yet. I’m surprised they managed to make the new QX80 look good despite not having much money. They’ve lost a lot of money over the past decade.
Nissan is only alive thanks to the Alliance.
@@faheemabbas3965 is it because of the cvt things or there's other reasons?
@@calebwany8422 Nissan 15 years ago was neck and neck with Honda and Toyota. They made a couple bone headed decisions that has hurt them ever since, but they are slowly recovering.
The SUV pulling over to let him overtake at 10:55 was interesting. Never seen someone do that outside of a canyon road.
Beautiful car, love the slight retro touches….
Beautiful ride!
so cool!
Looks like a really fun car
Absolutely love the Shackleton chairs Clarkson reference in these reviews 😂
That red line is a win 🏆
What I really want to see out of the new Z is a convertible version. I got to drive one recently (not the Nismo) and it's a really fun car but yeah it's unfortunate they got rid of the manual.
Man this car is so good looking, as a former 370z owner id love to own a new Z but it’s hard to consider in that price range.
The complaints about the shifter are pretty valid, especially since the paddles aren't column mounted anymore. I don't like the digital cluster either. Analog guages with gradient shift light would have perfect for the Nismo model. Also the red accents on the outside are just flat red (not the nismo candy red that's been used for the last decade).
The shiftknob is also in Mitsubishi outlander? The Nissan rogue equivalent
The MSRP on these is absolutely absurb
Did you cut out at 9:03 or am I tripping
Me at 9:00: Man i love that sound 😂
Hate it all you want, the Nismo Juke was so much fun and it’s coming for us all
How much of the “exhaust note” is real and how much is fake coming from the interior speakers ?
I drive mine on weekends and day trips when not working or cars and coffee I don’t have much trunk space cause irs a roadster but I got a truck as a daily for every thing else .
How tall are you? Was it comfy ?
I feel like the car should be more responsive to the input when shifting. There is a noticeable lag between the shift paddle being pressed and the transmission shifting. Or at least longer than I think it should take for a car like this. Hopefully tuning or an external module can fix that.
I remember back about a year ago when they were talking about the new Z only costing $35K for the base sport model... And me laughing, knowing that no one will be able to walk out of a Nissan dealer with any Z for under $55k out the door
No manual 🥲
go get the regular Z u can get manual there
still wondering why they couldn't put a DCT in there
I still haven’t seen a new Z in traffic.
Doesn't seem like its using much if any torque reduction between shifts that could be why it feels slushy.
You know what shifter the Rogue and Pathfinder don't have? One with an H pattern on the knob. I don't care if modern autos are faster. I don't care if DCTs are even faster. A good old manual is the most engaging.
$65k aint cheap, but let's be honest everything is expensive these days. This thing's a rocketship for that price
Also 9:28 made me lol, very relatable ...
Would be fun if it was a manuel
I love this car, but it’s not available in Europe 😢 (also I’m poor heheh)
They dropped the ball hard with the new z. I’m getting a b58 car before I get this nismo. Maybe a base but definitely not this one
they hit the nail on the head...
@@Vivek.Clips2024It's a great car at a terrible price
@@hatslapper6860 Why is it a terrible price?
@@GoFast58 you can buy a Camaro SS for cheaper, and it's better car all around
I'm not a fan of plastic fabric on the seat and steering wheel. It absorbs sweat and looks dark and wet like a sweatshirt if it gets moisture and where I live causes a big static shock when you get out and touch the roof! The car is missing a lot from the competition like adaptive ride (so it rides very rough for commute), has no power seats, no leather seats, no updated tech. It is more of a $40K parts car to me.
They’re bucket seats. If you want luxury get a M2. This is more for Nissan and Z fanboys. Yes it’s too expensive but it’s a very niche market
Needs more manual transmission.
We have one of these at my dealer and they can't sell that thing lol
I think it's a disappointment, particularly given that Nissan had about a thousand years to get it right.
If they priced it at 42k like they should theyd sell like hotcakes. No way this things worth 65k plus markups. Nissan are retarded. Ive had a q60 red sport, nismo 370z, and then an evo which I loved dearly and i dont miss either nissan product for a reason. They price gouge when theres always something better around the corner. And as much as i wanna like what they offer, i cant justify it.
Your dealership must be a dump, they can’t keep those on the lots of most dealerships….
@@GeorgeKent-rn7xvYea I'm sure all 50 of them are just flying off the shelf. They barely make any regular Zs let alone Nismos
@@nah3193 …I don’t know where you live, maybe Wyoming…Lol…Here in Atlanta they are selling well…
Have to say those fake burbles coming through the speakers are sad. Also needs a manual.
Backseats?
Nope.
zed not zee
Should’ve gotten a nismo gtr🤷🏾♂️
Not transporting a Emily today?
use the paddles, that's what real race cars have. get informed, you can use the paddles while turning when mounted to steering wheel just like race cars have. using floor shifters for sequential sucks
Can get an M2 for the same price
yup and M2 is better quality and u can choose manual on it
but wont last long 😂
I barely see the regular Z, let alone the nismo. Nissan really dropped the ball on the car but honestly that’s just their whole company in general these days.
I’m not sure what’s worse:
Nissan putting yet another Z on their chunky old FM platform, forcing a bulky and tall shape with a high seat. Then making the Nismo torque converter auto only.
OR
Short-sighted scumbag US dealerships letting performance cars like this one sit on the lot because they’d rather sell one at $20k markup every six months than make that same money selling even just one a month, knowing that some owners will come back for service if they don’t hate the dealership (as one would, when being charged $20k over msrp).
The people running dealerships proving yet again that they dropped out of school after their first day of economics. MFs heard half a lesson on supply and demand and immediately took their base level knowledge and opened a dealership.
Manual or nothing
go back to the 80s or 90s , 2024 , 90% of cars are auto
$65k+ is too much for this car with reused parts from the 370Z. Will wait 1-2 years for a certified pre owned for significantly cheaper and a good warranty.👍
all that money to be railed by the supra/bmw people gotta realize the Z will always be shit because of the GTR. They cant add stuff to this or the "halo gtr" would never sell.
Yep. Nissan fucked themselves into a corner they cant get out of. Sucks. Was so cool when the 350 and 370 / g35 g37 were thumpin. They were great cars. And if you had good money, youd get the GTR after 09 and graduate. Now? Good lord. They dont stand a chance
What a disappointment..
its not for u than !! pretty sure Nissan will still sell these . plus im sure u don't got 65k for it anyways
@@truongnd1 👌🏻sure bud
I get the hate and or disappointment many share with the Z, especially with the other cars available in the price point.. but cmon, in some universe if this Nismo was the only option i had, I'd tear around town and have a blast.. Ntm that stealth grey and black Rays look great, would be the only paint i would choose... Stay safe Topher Adjacent, until next time 🫡
Offering this car with an automatic is an L move
Same with the GR86 Trueno edition.
Looks plasticity and the sound is very fake inside right.
its a nissan...
Yes it plays some sound through the speakers. Nothing some coding won’t do to take it off
cheap old interior
Go buy a German then… this car isn’t meant to have overly expensive parts. Does it have the best leather? No, but it’s also not a luxury sports vehicle.
so?
You're not wrong but you're also not the target audience. Most if not all buyers look at this interior and the first thing they say is "this is exactly what i'm looking for". That's because the cheap material is reliable and wear resistant compared to a leather dash that will warp in the sun, clips that will fall out of the door trim, etc.
I agree looks the same as my 09 did
I agree completely. I love this car but for $65k…you’ve got to give a little more than that
I'll take the 370Z over this boring looking one.
Anybody who has money for this, will buy something else. Severely overpriced for very little.
