I’m currently rereading The Wizard’s Guide to Defensive Baking by T Kingfisher. It’s just a fun magic middle grade book about a girl saving her kingdom with baked goods. Kingfisher is one of my favorite creepy-cozy authors and I’ve read this one every year since it came out.

Hey resident archivist here again ! If you're planning on keeping your pages in those archive binders for a long time I'd recommend putting a cover / end page between your pages and the cover. This type of plastic is acidic and there's a good chance that it could stick to your page or degrade it with some time/potential heat

I got out of an unsafe situation recently that had been going on for a long time, and I’m feeling better physically than I have in years. But because I’m safe now, my brain is saying I have to process all this bad stuff. It’s feeling very scary, muddled, and stressful in my head.
But I put this on and suddenly started feeling like everything was okay. It quieted the chaos in my brain so I could enjoy my safe environment.
    Thank you. ❤️‍🩹

I just finished reading The Murderbot Diaries series and then immediately picked up the first one to reread because, yes, i know what it's like to be stuck in the universe. the book is about an anxious antisocial cyborg created to work in security, but it only wants to watch series and not have to interact with humans. it has a really dry and sarcastic humor and it's soooo funny. also the serie is mostly made of novellas and just two novels, so it's a pretty easy read

"currently reading" is a bit of a stretch for me since i haven't picked up the book in months (my adhd is good at starting new things but not finishing them), but the last book i've been slowly tryna make my way through was "the long way to a small angry planet" by becky chambers. i really enjoy it so far! it's kind of a slowpaced, slice of life scifi.. and there's something weirdly comforting as an autistic reading about a human trying to interact with different aliens, trying to be respectful of customs without always knowing to is a bit of an autistic mood.

one of my favorite books is Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi. the whole novel takes place in a small Tokyo coffee shop and is about a special coffee that can let you time travel when you drink it (but there are rules). you follow the stories of people in the cafe, and it's very cozy and heartfelt.

As a winter depression person I can't imagine experiencing it in summer, that's awful. Lovely to see you so content in your binder system though ❤, imo that makes for the best videos to watch even when it's not a system I share. Netflix cancelling everything good is too real, still mourning Lockwood&Co. 😢 The last book I read sucked, but I will always recommend Erebos to anyone as I love it. I also really liked Ready Player One. (Haven't watched the film for either.) Both share the theme of much of the story taking place inside a video game. 🎮

I've suffered from summer depression for yeeaaars. It really is such a weird season to get through.
I'm currently reading The Bread We Eat in Dreams by Catherynne M. Valente. It's short stories and poems, so they're all a mix of genres, but most are fantasy, and some are mythological. It's been a fun time.
Also started playing Stardew again as well! Such a good game to vibe and lose hours in.

ive been trying working in a couple different hobonichi books so far this year and neither are really clicking - i always fall behind and i cant remember enough to back fill the days!!! and i am Tempted to try doing something filofax-esque but idk idk idk i feel bad for wasting the money on the hobonichi books if i decide not to use them...but seeing ur filofax AUGH its so good ! but anyway anyway in terms of books i have recently finished listening to an audiobook of 'the goblin emperor' by katherine addison on audible which was fantastic by itself the reader does such fantastic voices !! but the book itself is one of absolute faves ive read it about four times now - about a young man who suddenly becomes emperor after his father (the emperor) and his four sons die in a very suspicious airship crash, n how he navigates the court / responsibilities / treachery etc . its so hard to describe without sounding boring but it is so good and touching and the mc is so so so so good and the world building is so fun !! if u want a series i recommend 'the realm of the elderlings' by robin hobb good LORD. books that make me feel shrimp emotions - 16 book chronicles made up of 5 series (but u can skip 2 of the series and . they kinda suck so i rec u do that sjkbsk) but the 3 other series follow the mc fitz who is a royal bastard and its just 9 books of him uh Having A Real Time of things. there's animal magic there's mind powers there's dragons there's complex family dynamics there's fitz being kissed TWICE on the MOUTH by his male(ish) best friend . these books literally kept me up at night i cried real tears. anyway thats my essay love ur vids !

I'm really happy you're so at peace as to be boring to some. That's truly the goal in life. 😊🖤
As for books: I'm reading DUNE 3, The Familiar, and The Last Graduate (Book 2 Scholomance series).
Dune 3: the children of Paul have to face the consequences of their father's action. Also, the full extent of why toxic boy moms are bad. If Lady Jessica has no haters, I am dead. It's a great series, honestly. If you're into sci-fi, dive in!
The Familiar: delightfully written prose about magic in inquisition Spain. it's giving Catholic hunger games, and I'm Mexican so I relate to the vibe a lot. It's comfortable despite also being full of despair and tension.
The Last Graduate: [disclaimer, I'm reading it in Spanish]. The characterization is a beautiful inversion of classical hero's journey tropes. At this point I've grown deeply attached to characters and have a strong love for my protagonist and her love interest. The allegorical representation of race and income inequality might be too on the nose for anyone deeply fatigued with real life, but I love the defiance of the cast in the face of their adversity. Also, I do appreciate that my favorite edge lords are being called out for being edge lords. It IS that serious, but it's not that serious.

I’m dyslexic, and it takes me longer to read a book than the average person. But I’ve been enjoying “Lasher” by Anne Rice. It’s the second book to The Mayfair Witches series. I also have seasonal depression in the summer. And I’ve recently moved into the attic, so that my aunt, who is disabled, could have my old room on the main floor. I know exactly what you’re talking about with the heat in the attic. I’m sick of it already.

I just finished the first Part of Foundryside by Robert Jackson Bennett, and totally loved it. 10 out of 10! It's adult fantasy, but the magic system ist like computer programming - really unique, and really well done. Great story, clever plot, a convincing, complex world and great pacing and narration. But the best thing are the characters - wonderfully sarcastic! The world and story are grim at times, but I had so much fun reading, enjoying their dry comments and watching the relationships between them getting stronger. One of he best things I read in the last month. Reminded me a bit of the SixOfCrows-Duology (clever heist plot meets sarcastic, complex characters you love more the longer you know them).
And, BTW, thank you for The Raven Boys - what a story! Never would have found them without you. 🥰🥰🥰

So happy for you finding planner peace for so lang, I know the struggle! Really glad I'm still loving my TNs with Sterling Ink inserts and am dreading the day the struggle hits😅
As for reading: I am firmly commited to spicy romantasy. Fourth Wing is still on my mind all day every day (mainly because of Storm in the Quiet on AO3), but I also already want to reread ToG even though I only read it for the first time in january😂. Carissa Broadbent is also sooo good, but I was really disappointed in Raven Kennedys Plated Prisoner Series. The quality of the writing and story telling felt just so much simpler and that in a bad way. It felt like reading a middle grade book😮. Now I am diving into Jennifer L. Armentrouts Blood and Ash series (read the first two, starting the third today) and I really like them so far.
So I guess TL,DR on romantasy: recommend Fourth Wing (+ fanfiction!), ToG, Carissa Broadbent and Jennifer L. Armentrout; skip: Raven Kennedy
Love your Videos, have a great week❤

I’ll second the recommendation for Emily Wildethat I saw in the comments- I just finished the second one and am enjoying the series. I don’t usually like epistolary novels/I find that format difficult to get into. I didn’t have a problem with Emily Wilde.

I'm finishing up the Veronica Speedwell Mystery series, the lastest book-9th was just released in February or March. I believe the series is classified as Historical Romance. I hadn't read ficition in over 5yrs, and this series drew me all the way in!!! So entertaining with fantastic dialogue, action (murder, detective work, logic/reasoning, butterflies, taxidermy, royalty drama, high tension, friendship, etc., etc.), and the two lead characters are far ahead of their time! The setting is 1887 London.
I 🫶 All Souls Trilogy! I've lost count just how many times I have read the books since it was released. I've watched the series, just as many times! It was hosted on Sundance, but I think AMC carries it now...may be both?! Perhaps another viewing is in order 🙃 I thought it was a wrap for the books, too! Sea of Tranquility by Emily St. John Mandel. Great for a slump, and I just finished. It's delightfully wacky and sorrowful.

I'm currently reading The Fellowship of the Ring (part one in the LOTR series) it's a fantasy adventure and I highly recommend The Hobbit, it definitely worth the hype :) I also recently read A Psalm for the Wild Built by Becky Chambers. I think it's described as cozy science fiction (?), it's a heart warming story and has a robot character learning about the world (which is something I'm personally a fan of lol)

I’ve been slowly reading Cat’s Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut. A little odd, not bad, but I’m not sure how I feel about it. It’s my first Vonnegut book I’m reading so maybe he’s just like that. Intrigued by that book about bogs and peatlands, I think I’ll give it a look. I would recommend Gathering Moss by RWK, if you like books about nature that feel like prose and storytelling at the same time as being informative (but I know other people have recommended it before so I’m sorry if you’re tired of hearing that lol😅)

Omggg i have been waiting for someone to ask for recommendations, i want to recommend “Mother of Learning” by Domagoj Kurmaic aka Nobody103 !!!! It’s actually a web novel but the author published the 4 arcs (they have better grammars, quality and such). It’s about a guy who accidentally got dragged along in a time loop, and while he was stuck in that time loop, he planned to take advantage of it and started to train to become a better mage. I dont wanna say too much coz im not good at explaining but all 4 arcs are sooo good (keep in mind that the author tends to info dump a lot sometimes haha). If i can wipe out my memory, i would, and read those books for the first time again, so many adventures and the characters development are top tier. It’s been over a month since I’ve read them and i still just wanna reread them sm.
