hii i'm so sorry about your books. :(( this happened to me last year i spilled black tea all over it (thankfully i really liked the aesthetic).for the smell the best you can do is find a container and a bunch of baking soda. you have to make sure that your book is completely dry, fully covered in the baking soda. leave it for about 20 ours and if that doesn't neutralize the smell, nothing will. i hope it helps! also make sure to leave the container in a place with low humidity
So sorry to hear about your hobonichi - I was nodding my head when you mentioned feeling impatient about your new hobonichi arriving...I was feeling the same with lesson planbook. I'm a primary art teacher and I've finally settled on a planbook design and I have you to thank. I really find your pages so beautiful and noticed the paper is square grid and I never thought to write my lessons on square grid paper, I've written them before on the dotted paper but having the lines of the squares will be so helpful with keeping everything neat. Sorry for rambling.

honestly i think the coffee stains looks charming on the Field Notes - as another commenter mentioned, it really does give it a vintage look. absolutely understandable about the stink, though! i also struggle with the transition from halloween to christmas. i've found it helpful to dive into the folklore of the season, and especially dig into ghost tales (à la Christmas Carol) to prolong the spooky season 👻🖤

I’m really sorry about the coffee spill! 😭 I decide that Halloween decorations will come down and be switched to Christmas decorations after thanksgiving. I love pumpkin pie and we can get a free one from our real estate agent on Tuesday so I’m really looking forward to that! My way of enjoying the between times is to focus on cute hats, mittens, scarves. I look forward to walkies and keep heating cost down by bundling up in my cute things inside!

Oh no about the coffee stain. Honestly i totally get that of having to change notebook because of the smell. I could live with the stain i think, but smelly pages? Ew no.
Im also not a big fan of Christmas, which is even harder now that i live with someone who does.
I try to make it as calm as possible but its still overwhelming.

I have also already done (some of) my Christmas shopping! I will start decorating next weekend, so I too had the feeling of being kind of early, but as you say, it is much more relaxed in November (and I get nicer things in second hand shops than in December, because the good stuff tends to sell out early of course). 🌲

Spray your old weeks with Gain Febreeze. And use solid or oil perfume if you have any. Let it dry and just use it for notes. The page’s will be wrinkly and beautiful. Move on to your new planner for planning. ✨✨

Second comment, I know there are some Planner Tube channels that create layouts in books but never use them. Passion Planner, Happy Planner, and Erin Condren content creators buy many books and make layouts in all of them with their sticker shops. I got bored of that quickly since I am one to use stickers minimally and it was just pretty planning where I prefer functional planning.

Christmas is my special interest but I keep my Halloween decorations up in November and then ease into Christmas at the end of November. The past lockdown Christmasses have done some damage to my Christmas spirit though, now I always get very anxious that something might happen so I can’t fully enjoy December.

Is your puppy a emotional support dog? I am going to have to be like Jessica in how to adhd and probably have to self train one. If I am. Not shopping with anyone, I usually also wear my noise cancelling headphones. Else any loud crowds, elevator music, or excited child voices, and the loud danish women on their mobile phones that think everyone wants to hear their conversation will trigger me.
