    Thank you for reviewing these beautiful wings. I recently owned the Sf 1080 and I’m really excited about it. I started pumping successfully , a wing that undoubtedly makes you progress !!!

      Absolutely! I wish I had the 1080 when I was learning to pump as it would have helped drastically. Let me know how you get on with your journey.

    The stab generates downforce on the fuselage, and it is a very good design choice to attach it on the top side of the fuse so majority of the force get transfer by by mounting surface instead of the screws.

      You are absolutely right! I can't argue with that logic. But still, I find it annoying as I change tails all the time when testing different foils. Probably not an issue for most people. Thanks for the comment

    Thanks for the review lads. I am winging the 930/215 last two months and love it. So user friendly, gets going so easy and turns great on windswell. Would prone it if I could get to a surf beach but for now downwinding and swell riding - its so good. Jumps decent too! Anyhow, wondering have you heard if anyone has chopped the 215 - north specify the option to do that but haven't heard if anyone has yet :-)

      Hi @rayglynn2589, I haven't done any chop shops on the 215 yet as I just move to the 210 or 208. That being said, not be scared to chop a tail, it can make a big difference. Play around with it, worse case you will have to buy another, it won't break the bank as they are not crazy expensive. Hope that helps.

      @@hydrofoilacademy thanks for reply, I don't wanna be the test pilot on that one 😄 Prob easier to just go the 208, I'd be worried would lose the magic of the 215 😀 as ya said, won't break the bank

    Hi, thanks for the great review! Looks like the SF sits between the HA and the MA range? What would you say is max speed you can get out of the different SF front wings? I'd love to have the hole SF range as my do it all wings, but i do like to do a little freeride speed to. Do you think one can reach the 20 knot mark on any of these?

    • @hydrofoilacademy
      @hydrofoilacademy  Před rokem +1

      Yes, for sure. I have had the SF930 hit 21kts with a small tail. The SF930 is my favourite north wing.

    For winging and learning how to ride ocean on shore wind swells, for 82 kilo rider who is riding both directions and learning Jibe. Which should I get in combination with ma850v2? I’m currently on ma1200.

    • @hydrofoilacademy
      @hydrofoilacademy  Před 10 měsíci +1

      The SF range is amazing for riding wind swells. In fact, i use the SF1220 for DW sup (I am 80KG). If you want to DW wind swells, the 1230 is perfect. If you are riding bigger, faster swells then the 930 with 178 tail is great!

      @@hydrofoilacademy thank you for your response! What about sf1080? Is middle size is all around or it’s better to choose something more specific? I’m not sure about swell speed 😂😅 I tried to catch some on ma1200 and I feels like I was too slow for them…

  • @secondlife7976

    Could sf1230 be a light wind solution? For 80 kilo rider

    • @rayglynn2589
      @rayglynn2589 Před rokem +2

      Defo, I'm on the 930 (72kg) and its low end is unreal compared to the HA foils I have ridden before. I'm riding with a 5m wing in probably 12 knts on a 70l board.

    • @jarredandjendrown5322
      @jarredandjendrown5322 Před rokem +1

      For sure!! I'm 78 kilos and use the 1230 on a 72 cm mast and short fuse for 8 - 14 knots and the 930 on 85cm mast short fuse for 15 knots and up...

    • @hydrofoilacademy

      I have to agree with the comments below. Definitely a light wind solution.
