I genuinely want to see Moy-sey pull West Ham up to Europa League places, this is what separates the good fans from the plastics. No matter what, stick by your side, sure, Moyes flunked in his last 3 jobs, but let's not forget the fans also play a big part in giving the team support to go and do their best. And don't give me that bullshit that "English clubs have no fan culture" or "Stadiums with running tracks have no atmosphere". 1) Look at Crystal Palace, sitting bottom and they are still probably the only English team with fan culture and ultras. And they still do that, even when they are rock bottom. 2) Roma. Lazio. Don't complain when you haven't tried. At least Spurs are now picking up pace at Wembley. A ground in which they had trouble playing in last season.
Stick by your team, prepare for the worst but also hope for the best.
    Good luck Hammers.

I'm just baffled that with other managers like Koeman, Shakespeare, and Ancelotti without jobs that it is Moyes who got the job. Praying that Moyes will turn things around is fine, but he has as much of a chance as getting West Ham back on track as Bob Bradley did with Swansea last year.

      @Isleofskye Před 6 lety +12

I wrote 6 months BEFORE the move that it would be detrimental and that was assuming they kept their promise to move the fans much closer to the pitch.
I am NOT a WHU fan (Millwall) but I saw the advantages at The Boleyn 52 years ago when WHU beat a good WBA team 6/1 and the place was rocking and very intense in 1965. Away platers did not fancy that Bearpit and could not express themselves in that cramped and hostile arena. Now it is " Manna From Heaven " for any footballing side well away from the intimidation of the fans and on a much wider pitch.
Also WHU HAD to battle at the old ground as the crowd would have lynched them and won all " 50/50's" and Home players were inspired and even The Refs were Homers just like at The OLD Den at Millwall. NO MORE !
btw Millwall are STILL desperately missing the OLD Den 24 years after moving in 1993 into a soulless, sanitised Stadium.

But now, Moyes has improved the fitness, we're not shipping in goals left right and centre. We're scoring more and performing better in all aspects of the game. I never thought I'd say this but I'm so glad Moyes took over, we have changed. We've still got a long way to go but I'm far more confident than what I was when Slav got sacked. Biggest problem in football these days is people running football clubs who know nothing about football. Fans should have a say in who represents them at the top. West Ham Newcastle Aston Villa even Arsenal these clubs are going nowhere and people expect fans to not be negative. It's a shitty consequence of football clubs becoming businesses where the highest bidder takes control. This is why the GAA in Ireland will never go professional they stick to their ethos not making it about money but about pride and loyalty.

Some fans already slating him before he's even managed a game. Believe it or not, Moyes was a manager who had a cracking reputation before the Manchester United job. He was left with a shocking situation at United, Real Sociedad was his rebound, and Sunderland were always on a dark path. There is a good manager in Moyes somewhere. He just needs to have more self belief and shake the past three jobs off his back. This could be the re-making of him as a manager or it could be the final destruction.

The title of the video is over the top but the sentiment that the fans are expressing holds true. From the outside looking in it looks like they're almost delusionally negative but honestly, what Sam Diss said about feeling is so accurate. The badge, the name, the stadium, the area, the manager have all changed. What's really left of the old West Ham other than the long suffering fans?

There's still hope. Remember that this is the man who managed to replace Sir Alex Ferguson and while he's not successful enough for United, given time (by the fans) and financial backing from the board, perhaps he is the man that West Ham really needs right now. On paper, there's plenty of flamboyant football to be played with those talented players, it just needs some proper man management and gut-wrenching tactical approach to kick start the season.

"Sunderland were already bad and he just dragged them down" Sick of this shit. No wonder West Ham fans get called the most self righteous in football. Moyes inherited one of the strongest teams in our recent history, a solid squad selected by Allardyce, and on top of that, was given enough money to break our transfer budget. We were not "already bad" that squad on paper was more than capable of staying up, especially with an additional transfer window with substantial financial backing. No one wants to see another club sink in the way Sunderland have (unless you're a dirty mag) but this has been coming for you Hammers, in the same way it was coming for us. Complaining about how you deserve so much more doesn't achieve anything, and putting other clubs down, who are more similar to your own than you think is so counter productive.

at 5:40, couldn't put it any better, exactly how I feel! We have lost our identity. Upton Park was intimidating, shit hole, rough, on top of the players and most importantly - bloody brilliant. It was our 'manor', it felt like the front line on a battleground, we cockneys don't want posh Chelsea and Arsenal style flamboyance, we are Eastenders! We are real! We have culture, and the board have stamped it out. COYI

I am a West Ham fan I I honestly think Moyes will keep us up. The people in this video clearly don't pay attention to the way the players react. The games we lost were because the players were very unfit under bilic. You can see this because the players would run for the first 20 then they would be puffed. Like look how many of those games we dropped points in, we conceded many late goals because the players were absolutely wrecked e.g Crystal Palace and Burnley. The players weren't fit and the players that were fit were undergoing private training like Lanzini because he was coming back from injury and trying to compete to get in the Argentina squad. As long as the players are fit I believe David Moyes will save our season. I'm not saying he will carry us to the Europa League but he will make sure we don't get relegated. I fully back Moyes and the people who don't back there own club and say "We are getting relegated" then they are the people who will be wrong. What's the point of supporting a club if your not going to back them. COYI

    Horrible transfers
    NO tactics
If there's any tactics they are outdated like lumping the ball up to nothing
Good players hate him and don't want to play anymore
He's never heard of a substitute
And he's a great ingredient to help ruining a club

West ham are a 10-12th place club. Billic got them that 7th place finish. Their only goal for the whole season now to stay up and that should be like a success to them and their fans. They aren't a top 6 team, and they won't be for anytime soon, just keep expectations to a realistic level. Before the season starts, west ham were consider to finish at least top 8..

he'll probably do ok because West Ham basically have an underperforming mid table squad who need a collective kick up the backside. I get the feeling Bilic was not much of a disciplinarian. There hasnt been too much in the way of organisation in many WHU teams I've seen this & last season and Moyes will at least restore some order to the chaos. They'll end finishing around 10/11/12th i reckon.

Spend a good chunk of cash on a striker. Hire a manager that hates that striker. Nice logic from West Ham right there.

  • @AJPalmerTheRealIronMan

I agree with some of what has been said, however coming from content creators perspective, this video has been made in haste and hasn't had ANY time for the news to settle in. I think Moyes' appointment is somewhat of a weird call, but I have faith in him and I strongly believe that he will try his absolute best with West Ham United and try to get us a decent result at the end of the season.
And to all the plastic fans who claim to support West Ham, you either have faith in YOUR new manager, or you don't. If you do, great! If not, you know where the door is.

The Man Utd job with an ageing squad was such a hard act to follow with fergie leaving. Anyone coming in would of struggled. Sunderland was a poisoned chalice, the squad was awful and they had been on the brink for years. Real Soceidad was a gamble as he has never managed abroad, with a team that is just as up and down as West Ham. Got to give him a chance. Not my first choice but he's here now and and seems to be doing good work in training so far. The players actually look like they are doing proper training sessions, rather than just shooting drills. Get fitness levels up, work on our defending and then we can go from there.
