  • THE 31 DAY ADVENTURE CARAVANS GRAND CIRCLE WESTERN NATIONAL PARKS GUIDED RV TOUR of 9 National Parks, 4 National Monuments and dozens of attractions, events and activities was on our RV Travel Bucket List for years. At first, we thought we would book a personalized route ourselves, but to pack this much sightseeing into only 31 days would have been a daunting task, and required planning a year or more in advance!
    Life always seemed to get in the way, and made PLANNING a trip like this seem impossible because of all the "timing" issues. We just couldn't commit to things that far in advance. We finally realized we would NEVER be able to pull off planning a long, 31 day complex trip like this unless we purchased a pre-arranged and engineered Adventure Caravans Professionally Guided RV Tour that had all the trip planning already done for us. This allowed us to book it on a lot less notice, and when the time finally felt "right". All we had to do was sign up & show up! Perfect!

    Changes to Commercial Filming Permits on Park Land:
    On January 22, 2021, the US District Court for the District of Columbia issued a decision in Price v. Barr determining the permit and fee requirements applying to commercial filming under 54 USC 100905, 43 CFR Part 5, and 36 CFR Part 5.5 are unconstitutional. In response to the decision, the National Park Service issued interim guidance on February 22, 2021, to manage filming activities. Under the interim guidance, filming activities may require a permit if they would impact park resources or the visitor experience. The National Park Service intends to update regulations addressing filming activities that are consistent with the outcome of Price v. Barr. Once effective, those regulations will replace and supersede the interim guidance.
    “Low-impact filming" is defined as outdoor filming activities in areas open to the public, except areas managed as wilderness, involving five people or less and equipment that will be carried at all times, except for small tripods used to hold cameras. Those participating in low-impact filming activities do not need a permit and are not required to contact the park in advance.

    When this series of videos is finally completed, most folks will rightfully have 20 questions about Caravaning to ask! I would suggest you call the Wagon Master's wife Pat Poll at 616-450-7078 or email her at kobelpoll@yahoo.com This will allow you both to talk about the trip you just watched,....... which THEY were also on! You can't possibly get better answers to your questions than this! See you on the road!

      These trips book very early. Only Alaska is more popular. We only got on because we had gotten on a waiting list. Call Pat Poll (Wagon Masters Wife) at 616-450-7078 to just get a heads up on ANY trip availability. She is super nice, ultra organized and easy going! She will be able to answer ANY questions about the trip you viewed in this video because she was there!

      @OurJourneyInMyles  Před rokem +1

      Glad you enjoyed it Jeff. After planning much simpler travels, we are used to the routine needed. But as the trip gets more complex, the frustration starts to creep in. It is when you plan to travel with ANOTHER RV couple that the chances of being able to always get TWO sites at a CG's, TWO sets of entry passes at National Parks, TWO SETS of dinner show tickets, TWO SETS of Steam Train Tickets, etcetera,..... that you start to see how awesome the concierge travel planning service of an Adventure Caravan Trip is. Everyone needs to decide if this luxury is worth it for you & your travel partner. For me at 70 years old, and Sue at 65 years old, the answer is a resounding YES! The trip was $250/day for two people. If you remove $50 a day for the CG, it was basically $100/day per person for all the planned activities. We are going to do it again!

    What camera equipment are you using?

    • @OurJourneyInMyles
      @OurJourneyInMyles  Před rokem +1

      You will be amazed how cheap you can do all this,…..sort of.
      iPhone cameras are WAY more than enough. We use a 13 Pro Max and a 10x Max. Our DSLR camera is too heavy & clunky and doesn't look any better. We RARELY use our GoPro except for biking and outside the rig shots in the Campgrounds when driving out.
      You absolutely have to get an external mic & dead cat to get good sound and eliminate most wind noise. Bad sound = Bad MovieYou need a cheap plastic handle “rig” to hold the phone and the microphone easily. Camera digital stabilizer is good enough unless you are going crazy with movement. A Gimbal does not work with a large cell phone case, and I will not take my $1700 phone out of the case. A Gimbal is overkill x 2 plain and simple.
      If you have an Apple desktop or laptop, the FREE & INCLUDED iMovie software is great. If you work through learning that program, then graduating and spending the $349 (one time) for Final Cut Pro will be painless. (Apple owns Final Cut Pro)
      Voice over is part of the software on your computer as long as it has a mic built in, as well as screen recording. We plug an external mic into the computer. We use a Blue Yeti. You of course need large SD cards and external hard drives to store the movie. We have over 60TB of drives. We also use (1) GoPro8. All the cheap stuff we use is in our Amazon Store Page under “Camera Gear Section” so you can get an idea of the brands and costs involved. You will find the store link underneath the video display window in the description area of any of our videos. Our Amazon store link is also on our website: ourjourneyinmyles.com/ We wouldn’t change a thing on our setup so far. It's as easy as it gets. Every minute on screen is at least 1.5 hours of work. This excludes actual filming time.
