What does the grouping of the elements in PowerPoint achieve for a background that will be used in Power BI? Is that a step we could just omit?

Cannot omit that. That is what gets everything grouped so that it is included in the saved picture. If you save the picture with out grouping, all of the elements on the slide won't be included in the saved picture.

      Hello Seulgi,
Thank you for posting your query onto our channel.
Well this is a screen "Resolution" problem. In this case, you'll be required to test the background images and check that images or files are suitable as per your screen and doesn't gets blurred out. Or rather than fitting the images by choosing the "Fit" image option you can go for "Normal" option.
For furthermore queries, you can also reach out to us onto our Community Forum where our members as well as experts team will be able to assist you in a better and efficient manner. Below is the link of the forum provided for the reference as well.
Hoping you find this useful and helpful. Also, make sure that you're subscribed to our CZcams channel so that you don't miss out on any updates pertaining to the Power BI.
