- Lake Oswego's Mia Brahe-Pedersen is the fastest girl in state history. She holds the 100 meter and 200 meter dash record.

She has the main ingredient which is the extreme competitive spirit. The others are: a high percentage of fast twitch muscles. very tall at almost 6 foot; very narrow hip. Her starts are not there yet but when she gets it right, that's 0.2 to 0.3 secs drop in time.
Soon to be the fastest girl in the country.

I'm glad they allow her to compete against boys and the pros, or she'd be super bored with regular HS competition.

As a USA TF Level 1 track coach. I see this all of time, young girls 15,16 and 17 running really fast times and then everything changes. i.e., the boy factor, body changes, etc. For example (Candace Hill, Briana Williams, and Gabby Mayo). It’s not how fast you run at 17 but how fast you run at 19-20. A lot of girls will catch up, and the same girls she is beating now will mature in college. Mia Brahe needs to NOT turn Pro out of High-school but go the college and the NCAA’s will determine if she can run at the next level. My disclaimer, no hating. There is nothing special here. This is normal. Look it up.
