Chris, thank you for the haircut on small children. This was one of the cuts that I wanted to be able to do for my kid as well with a smaller head. So you explained very well the compression method for the fade.

I would simply take a 1.5 guard to debulk up to where his c cup starts to curve in so i can see what im doing and then id fade that out up to the 1.5 and then clipper over comb anything above that to keep the blend dark and just thinning shear areas that need it to finish it off.
