Love that you love Tifa as much as I do, she's probably my favorite of the FF heroines, and her fighting style in remake is probably my favorite in gaming, it's so rewarding to perfect. It's not the easiest to play, but the most broken once you figure it out. My favorite fighting style is to use deadly dodge and focus strike with Tifa to generate atb endlessly and go crazy, she's like a walking whirlwind lol.
Do hope the rest of the remake will do her and Cloud justice, it's my favorite romance in final fantasy I think, with perhaps one exception.
Final Fantasy 7 is such a unique game. The story, twists, villans, soundtrack, world, materia system and characters are all 10/10 and Remake has a 10/10 battle system too.

I'm so glad you got into this game as much as you have it's an incredible game. I beg you, please avoid the internet, like social media and youtube videos about rebirth, to avoid spoilers. People openly talk about what they expect in Rebirth, having played the original, and they often discuss a huge spoiler that will ruin a lot for you.
Agreed, it's SO HARD though, being such an ... well "technically" such an "old game," while at the same time it's going to be brand new for all of us in actuality. Such a fascinating experience for fans old and new. Have to say, I was in my mid teens when VII first came out, and I was a huge Zelda/FF fan but daaaang... VII was such a new experience. The visuals were new and stunning but the higher quality MIDI sampled music was what hammered the last nail in around the coffin of my heart *sighs wistfully*

and then here we have square enix putting Advent Children on theaters again despite it having HUGE spoilers, being set after the events of the original FFVII. it's like they don't care about new players getting spoiled. they even said the reason Sephiroth appeared in the remake much earlier than the original is because people know Sephiroth already, so maybe they also expect people to know that certain huge spoiler? idk
@gemgem-hl7ii Good point. Why not wait at least a week before re-releasing Advent Children? Idiots. To them, it's just about the almighty dollar! 💵

I too was a teen when the og VII was released. I was 17 going on 18. VII changed how I looked at video games and life. It taught me a lot of valuable lessons. Which is why is means so much to me. Thank you again for the kind words and you be safe as well. 😁👍
@gemgem-hl7ii to be fair, the remake stuff isn't a "remake" more like a sequel to the original, and given what the promotional stuff like trailers and stuff have already shown for rebirth, that makes it even more clear that the remake games are different story wise so I see them releasing advent children and crisis core again as them giving context for the original game when things probably take a different turn in rebirth.

It always warms my heart to see people playing this game for the first time. I was an OG player myself, and I have been waiting for the remake for years! Tifa is one of my favorite characters.
Most of the choices you are given in the game have an impact on later scenes. Keep that in mind as you move forward.
You could totally cosplay Tifa, though your internet personality fits Aerith a bit better.

Huge tip for Tifa in combat: You can link the Whirling Uppercut with the Dive Kick right after even before Tifa lands on the ground! A sick combo! When you figure out how to put all the character abilities in hot keys, you won't have to manually click on each skill anymore.

I never played a Final Fantasy game before this one either. But I did play the Octopath Traveler games and I'm glad because it helped me understand the mechanics in this one.
I am so excited for this year because of the fact of getting in touch with my Final Fantasy roots. Because of you, I feel like going back and playing all of the Final Fantasy games again.
Final Fantasy VII is really a great game in the FF series and I like the characters in it a lot better thanks Julia.💖💖💖💖
Experiencing the beginning of this game again as a viewer I notice how hilariously identical it is to how a D&D campaign starts: Explosive start then help find cats and kill some rats 😂

Just a tip: don't rely on dodging in this game (at least on cloud), there are only a few attacks that are worth dodging and they're all projectile attacks. The best way to avoid damage is either counterstance with triangle/Y or going on the offensive and staggering the enemy. Even blocking isn't really that good. Tifa has a bit more mobility and can make use of dodge better, but she's such a powerful unit that you'll want to keep the pressure on with her.
I liked Tifa's playstyle so much that I made a cosplay of her in Nioh 2 using the fists weapon ❤
FFVII original is my favourite game of all time. The “Remake” is a lot of fun, and once you finish it, I’d love to show you videos from Maximilian Dude, who goes in depth about what he thinks “Remake” actually means, as well as other theories. Definitely have to play the original at some point, so you can compare and I guarantee you’d notice more in this one.

I have to say that I'm very happy with your natural affinity for the game's combat system. I love that you're good at it, that you enjoy it, and that you're curious to try out different moves and figure out how to work them into the flow of combat. This should be a good playthrough. I hope you love this game as much as many of us do!

yup the songs and music is abt 20 years ago from the original, now remixed. Best music tracks ever at that time. And the music track u were emo about, it's called world map song in the original. It plays when u are walking on the world map, travelling from place to place. Tho chocobo one that u get is a remix of the chocobo song. Chocobos are big birds that u can ride on
Spending a day with Tifa is what's life all about.

Also fun fact since you mentioned biggs and wedge, they are based off xwing fighters in star wars and have been in every final fantasy game as easter egg characters.

You say turn based stuff is a turn-off. I don`t know if you realize this, but you seem to be having the most fun using abilities and commands in this game. That IS the turn based aspect of it. Looking forward to more videos. So glad to see you are enjoying this game. The original was the first game I ever bought with my own money. This remake is an impossible dream, come true. Not flawless, but not heartless either.
Enjoying this playthrough. This my first Final Fantasy too. Maximilian Dood and Strange Rebel Gaming really got me into this and I always wanted to get into this legendary franchise. I have the PlayStation 5 Special Edition. I'm glad you are into this like the rest of the world is. It's a fantastic game. I've beaten this 3 times. I'm watching your entire playthrough.
Julia - The choice in 1:52:15 "Refined Dress" is the best dress for Tifa in my humble opinion - The Refined Dress for Tifa is her Orginal Dress From Final Fantasy 7 Orginal from 1997 year - but with much better Graphics !! Great That You Done all the side quests in chapter 3 - Keep at it !! Great Game so far !!

One thought about your comment about avoiding Final Fantasy 7 OG: it's not exactly turn based. It's similar, but really it's basically how you are using the menu now to use your abilities/magic/item/etc when you build up the ATB (active time battle) gauge. So the gauges fill up, you do moves, and the enemy does the same. Completely menu driven of course, so there is no basic attack to build ATB or dodge mechanic like this one though the is a basic attack that uses up your ATB and a defend action that greatly reduces damages taken.
Baldur's Gate 3 is actually turn based where all of your characters make their move(s) then the enemy does the same.
Anyways, I'll stop trying to convince you to play FF7 OG every video but i actually think there's a good chance you would have a great time if at the end of this game you love the characters and story.

your choice of what tifa will wear will have an effect later on in the game. She has at least 3 different clothings that she can wear in that scene, all based on what u choose for tifa

And of course.......you got Star Bracelet from Cerullian Drake-battle and it has 2 materia-slots. So more materia on your team. Always read the small print.....
Tifa cosplay you should definitely do haha and this is not a spoiler but i implore you save $3000 at all times for the future youll know where to use it
Just remember to use your SP's to upgrade your weapons. Even Iron Blade can be destructive weapon.....and it's only second sword in the game.

1:37:09 the auto cure materia, only works if it is linked with a cure materia into the materia slots that are linked ( see tifa`s gloves for example, both those are linked togheter)
That is false. I always had it on a character that didnt have cure and they used it just fine.
turn based was the only option back in the 90s, action combat didnt exist in anything but side scrollers. Zelda ocarina of time was likely one of the first.

@julia_tv If you try out Baldur's Gate 3 just remember that game is basically a strategy type of game. And I recommend playing on the easiest setting because for hardcore RPGs the battles are long and the chances for landing attacks are pretty stacked against the player. Just saying in case you don't like the thought of putting in like 30 minutes to a fight and then getting a game over because of one bad dice roll LOL.
Also remember that BG3 is a hardcore turn-based game. Final Fantasy VII is one of the easiest RPGs and not like a strategy type. That's one of the reasons FF7 became so popular, it was so easy to play.
You should do grinding in sector 7 mission in killing drake there🙂

I never understood how people dont like turned based combat what is it thats not to like?
And also remember to use weapon's main abilities, like Triple Slash on Iron Blade if you want to use it on Buster Sword later. Game menu's are confusing but you'll get it later.
there are lots of people cosplaying her especially at the beginning, even when she did not look so good in the original game. Imagine deformed 3D characters. None of them looked as good as now. Even Cloud and Sephi were bad 3D characters in the original, Sephi theme was the first ever to have a choral soumdtrack in a game. The music was the best back in those days. Now remixed and they did a good job remixing.
