Self-leveling floor underlayment preparation; 750 ft.² up to 1 inch depth of material

This used to be a hallway and two rooms, but it's now one big room with a good bit of variation between the highest and lowest points… 1 inch maximum, which we partially filled with plywood to reduce the amount of underlayment product we had to buy. We are complete neophytes at this underlayment business, so we have been spending a lot of time doing research (CZcams, Inter-webs), and moving slowly and deliberately… So far we haven't wasted too much money. This preparation is going to set us up to install a wood floor. The particular wood we plan on using is three-quarter inch white oak with a light stain, but it goes down without nails or glue.
