Hi brother! I’ve been following your channel for some time, my daughter lived in Japan, that technology is a normal product all over the eastern Asian countries, homes are very small. That piece of equipment you’re reviewing is more set up for home uses. My daughter sent me a similar product “ water kettle “ that works exactly the same way. That product is not set up for outdoor use, which is, what we enjoy doing. Love your channel and content, I’ve learned so much, thank you so much for sharing!! ❤❤❤👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 from Washington state.
Having a set of pots/ pans that work on a similar kettle heater, that I already own, might be interesting but why wouldn’t I just use an induction stove top that is inexpensive and I can use large or small pans of my choosing, and not be limited to two small ones? Maybe if space is at a premium, like van dwelling, this could have a consumer base?
This thing looks very interesting. With the cons you listed, I think i will pass on this one. Seems "unfinished" to me. Plus a crazy high price tag. I think ill stick with a $13 hot plate
Looks like a solution in search of a problem
Before induction this would have been very useful but now I would say it’s outdated as with induction you can choose to some degree what pans/pots one wants to use and small portable options are available.
Could be good for students as it’s seems a pretty safe unit to use.
I'm a propane, butane, isobutane kind of guy, but you know, this is pretty cool!
Electric water kettle, hot plate, induction cooktop and Insta-Pot exist. Leave the non stick pans for eggs. No one wants to sear a steak on a nonstick pan. Stainless steel, carbon steel or cast iron are good for searing.
Hi Ernie, hadn’t seen or heard about this product before, but am definitely interested. I’m 71 years old and not in the greatest of physical health. This might well be the answer for my limited cooking capabilities. Family would feel better with me not using my Trangia indoors so this might be the answer! Thanks, Bob
P.S.- btw, still making coffee with the system I got from you!
It's a great cook system from what I saw, maybe not so much for me but there is somebody this would be a great stove for, good job folks
Might be a reach, but perhaps the varying output for the pot is to avoid scorching or over-boiling soups or stews. When you stirred, it detected the slight temperature change and heated up. The sizzle pan is designed for searing, so it doesn't have that feature. Just midnight musings. And the food looked good!
This is a very interesting product and while it does not really fit into the way I use stoves, it fits a niche. Thanks for the review!!
Interesting for sure, but a quality induction cooker with compatible pans is a better option in my opinion.

I think an induction hotplate and cook set is more versatile and $100 cheaper. Those pots don't look dishwasher safe either.
There are just way too many alternatives to this for much much less money. One of my favorites is a 600 watt Procter Sylex mini grill. It's like a George Foreman grill but smaller, first one was $5. Another is a 2 qt electric pressure cooker, black Friday sale $10. But If I'm traveling by car I'll have several electric and non electric cooking solutions, One day I found one of those buffet butane stoves marked down to $10. And there's an assortment of Coleman stoves. I need to get out more and use this stuff.
Great to know... but not really bushcraft is it!
I'll stay with my nano!
Thanks
Interesting product, has possibilities, but both of the pans heated unevenly. My cast iron does a great job on my induction burner. I am learning how to cook using the induction cooker with solar panels, batteries, and an inverter. Makes you be more aware of the entire process, no more set and forget style cooking.
It's nice, but what would you use it for? It's electric, so if your power goes out, you can't use it for emergecies. If your hiking, you don't have electric, and it's too big to take hiking anyway, so no good there. If you're camping in an RV, they you can just use your RV stove, oven or microwave. So I'm not sure what need this would fill, especially at that price? I mean, if you're going to use it RVing, why not buy a Ninja IG601 Foodi XL 7-in-1 Electric Indoor Grill Combo, it does so much more, my wife has one and loves it. Or you can just buy an electric skillet. Even a Blackstone Adventure Ready 14” Propane Camping Griddle with Side Burner at Walmart would be better, and a lot cheaper too.
Maybe I'm missing something, but I just don't see a big need for a product like this.
Without knowing much where I see this market is for people with electric cars with plug ins like Ford F150 etc that will plug this into their truck etc, you know the people that want to be all "electric" very small market imho.
Love your videos! This looks like a great cook system for a kitchen or perhaps a camper. I might consider one when it comes out - agree with the need for a storage bag. Thanks.
It would probably fit nicely in a camp dutch oven bag, easily found online.
Ernie, based on your demonstration and comments, I would say that this product is a novel use of induction cooking. I think you'd find that a magnet will stick to the bottom of the pots inside. In this case, the coils for the induction technique are mounted inside each pot. That's also how the controller determines which pot is being used. Different rings in the centre connection post for each pot. My induction cooker behaves the same way when I'm heating up a sauce in temperature mode. There is a thermal sensor which keeps the sauce from burning. Boiling water would keep the power on until it reached the programmed temperature. As
@stuartstuart866 already commented, an induction cooker would be a more versatile use of your money.
Informative and honest as always.. great job Ernie! I'm now considering for my camper van.
I agree that this is a good solution for vanlifers and car campers who don't want to put a full kitchen into their van and use solar power. If the base worked with additional items that I could buy that would be a bonus. I'd like to see some sort of temp control outside of the computer control. The cost is the big deterrent to me. I can get a couple of pots and pans and a small induction cook top for less.
I have a twin burner alcohol stove that costs a third of this.
It does look like a well made product, but a single inductionplate has more power (I have seen 1800 w) can be used with more pans, skillets etc, and can be had for below 100 $
Nice review.
Ernie do you know what would have been really helpful with this system and make it worth the money, if you had a large power bank like say the Eco Flo say the river max fully charged and see how long it can cook for, with say it's solar panels attached, then people with boats and mobile campers would may be think it worth the money for the system, just a thought.
For someone single, perhaps in a dorm room or a barracks i could see this being very useful.
I would have liked to see how the temperature control/wattage worked at lower power for simmering. Also the way it cycles on and off in the 1000w mode ins't something I would want. With any pan cooking, high should be high at all times. Otherwise it looks nice.
Still prefer the Joulle, for those people who live a lot in hotel rooms, etc. - like cabin crew members, frequent travellers, etc.
Denoy cooks using Walmart rice pot and 750W inverter.
Try baking on whole the base
I am 70. If I were a widower, I would use one for myself. It would be perfect for a single person that doesn’t cook a large volume at once.
Neat cook set but pricey!
If u have to plug it into mains power to use it, then why would u pick this system? You could just pick an electric hot plate and use your existing pans. This product makes no sense. It’s like an expensive way to do something we already can do with better gear. Kinda silly.
A useful bit of kit. Car camping is becoming more popular with EVs providing a lot possibilities for higher power items of 1000W or more, with inverters.
I think the on-off feature is a safety to stop overheating, similar to what you see in cheap magnetic induction stoves. It would be interesting to see if the heat pulses more frequently (with longer off cycles) at lower power settings.
The not heating all the way round is probably because the heating element is 'C' shaped, the same as in the bottom of a cordless kettle.
The power socket at the bottom of the pans is the same as you find on cordless kettles.
The handle is identical to the one used by BULin on their camping skillets. It is not a new dedicated design.
Considering how much of the product is just repurposed existing technology, at $250 it is grossly overpriced IMHO. Also considering that this is basically modified cordless kettle tech, and cordless kettles are around $25, I personally would wait until the clones appear for around $50-75. Probably within your one year test window.
If I were designing an overlanding rig with solar this would be high on my list
A 70$ induction hot plate/cook top and ordinary pots and pans would be the smarter choice
keep in mind heating with electric is really inefficient, so this might be a serious drain on battery.
When you were boiling water did I just see one half of the element working please tell me it was a camera trick and it was boiling on the full element.
He pointed that out in the video
I’m a small RV camper, backpacker, and canoe packer and this thing doesn’t fit into being useful in any of those scenarios. Best case would be in our small RV when we are at a campground that has electric hookup at the site. Anything that uses electric to generate heat is inefficient and uses too much power. Sure, solar can make it up, unless it’s cloudy and why go with this. You likely have gas already, its cheap, readily available, and you can use any pot you want. I mean, just get a small induction cooktop, its cheap and you can use any pot. No useful scenario for this product that I can thing of
Its interesting... but it doesn't heat evenly. and It's not setup for the outdoors. Maybe if you had power to spare in a large RV. Maybe...
Why?!? Why is this any better than an induction stove - I can use any number of sizes sauce pans, cast iron, griddles frying pans on my induction stove - what on earth does this do better?!?! This product is an ideal candidate for a Khaby Lame review!
Who is it aimed at?
2700 gms so heavy. Only one "burner"
How many amps does it draw? Shore power/EHU is usually 10 amps. Sometimes 16.
If car camping, I have room to take a twin burner and gas bottle. If on a motorbike I need something more compact. Nobody would be backpacking with it.
If Im at home, I dont need it.
Sorry, I just cant see where this would be useful for me.
No...not for me !!!
My hang up is that if you have it in a camper or van, if you heating element goes out, pans are useless. You can't go to propane burner. Love your videos but will not fork that kind of money on a system that limits you like that. Thanks Buddy.
some people are on high the whole time
This looks like a nice option for one or two people. It sure would be nice if it came with a kettle.
That would be an easy add on.
The price is what is mostly working against this product. You can get a mobile and more powerful induction plate for $50-$70, add a pan & pot and you are still below half the price. Not sure what problem this kit is a solution to, to be honest.😅
The coin is still in the air?
250 Bucks are you kidding me you could buy a 30 dollar hot plate that could use anything you have. smarten up dude
Seems like a gimmick to me since it is basically a glorified kettle, and my immediate thought is "WHY?". It is rather bulky and heavy, relies on electrical power supply, so obviously not for hiking/camping. Car camping? Well, if my vehicle has such power supply most likely it's a RV with built-in propane cooker, then there is no reason to use this kit. If it is part of my emergency gear I would also need a huge power bank as well, which makes no sense because I can easily stock several propane canisters, not to mention power bank can serve better functions other than cooking. So this kit is for someone who doesn't care about weight & size and somewhere has stable electrical power supply, essentially me at home, but I already have a kettle in my kitchen.
Looks nice but I have to pass on this. Too costly.
You'll be farting for days MD. Cabbage!
The concept is promising but the price and initial impression that it seems kinda of cheap or suspect quality along with the made in China branding makes this a hard pass.
To expensive and can’t be used when wilderness camping
N O P E
zero chance of me buying this .
I'd rather spend the 300 on beer
And use my alcohol burner in my firebox stove and my box pots from firebox.
This system is expensive garbage .
Too expensive to even consider.
