The 18" 9601 is an incredible driver. Eighteen Sound are very good.
Recently I hand-rewound a 300watt speaker. I can appreciate the work I see here.

Folks ive been in sound business for almost 30 yrs.
Done work all over the world and there are only a handfull if factories making speakers for the market. So for you folks that dont know who this company is or many others well im no surprised.
These are factories making speakers for other companies like jbl.
Or rcf makes drivers for eaw.
Emminence makrs drivers for tons of companies
Rockford makes speakers for rockford and kicker also at one point.
So look at what you have in your car or home that u spent a small fortune for and cry.
Those speakers are literally pennies on the dollar if you bough the factory driver or oem.
And its the same specs most of the time but most of you folks dont know anything about speaker specs except power handling.
So depending on what your doing well for a car or home just buy a standard off the shelf rockford speaker and it will do great. A little more power go to emminence or for sound re enforcement well go to RCF
And well if rcf is good enough for the freemont experience soubd system in vegas well its hood enough for me to put into the back of a car.
And all you big sound guys out there there pennies on the dollar for an 12 or 18 inch pro driver.
So learn a little except what the next guy is doing and thrn you will have some experience to make some real remarks about sound
So learn folks and you shall save some money and have superior sound.

Nice speaker. Difficult to repair. Hard to remove software as a reusable piece. Coil only needed from a USA parts manufacturer. When they get driven hard, they get driven very hard. The software will burst into flames.
Can you tell me more of your thoughts on this brand of speakers? I'm in the process of rebuilding some sundown X12S, and I understand how speakers and subwoofers operate just wanted to hear more of your thoughts

In Trinidad the lw1400 18 inch coils keeps burning, the 10 inch m600 as well as the 8" you guys need to build a rigorous sub for our demanding events the tone of the lw1400 is just right but it needs to be stronger to withstand the abuse
I've owned twelve of these 18LW1400 for ten years and have not burnt one coil (so far).
1: use less power and use appropriate compression to suit the music; if not loud enough then use more speakers.
2: use a cabinet that has been correctly designed to suit this exact driver. this will maximised acoustic output.
3: use a high pass filter to remove low frequencies below the capabilities of the driver and cabinet.
