- Matthew Perry’s family have said that they are "heartbroken" following the "tragic loss" of their son.
In a statement to US publication People, the actor's family said: “We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of our beloved son and brother. Matthew brought so much joy to the world, both as an actor and a friend."
They added: "You all meant so much to him and we appreciate the tremendous outpouring of love."
Perry, who played Chandler Bing on NBC’s Friends for 10 seasons, was found dead at his Los Angeles home aged 54.

He was a drug addict that basically let himself go .... looked and dressed like a slob. He wrote a book, he opened a house for sobriety ...... that's about it. He was an actor ..... he didn't split the atom.
Tragic and sad, part of one of the best shows of it’s day, nothing has come close to Friends it was of it’s time, one that is no more 😟 RIP Mr Perry (Chandler)

bet I do. helped my brother get off drugs. took him out of the hole he was in and helped guide him with love and sometimes harshness. he lived with me away from where he could access his hits and got him into a training and a stable job, 15 years later he is still off. Now On the same night there was a boxing match, between a boxers who fights in a square ring and another fighter who fights in an Octogon. If you put a box and an Octogan together you get Hexagon.
