      Without an ultrasonic cleaner, how would you do the cleaning? What cleaning liquid do you recommend?

      Great video as always ! Could you please make one about SPD pedals ? Disassembling axles and balls, greasing, adjusting gap ? I'm not aware of any videos on maintaining SPD pedals' external parts (springs, bridges).

    Gotta give credit where it's due. This channel is a gem and you're doing quality work. Chapters, timestamps, camera work, no annoying music, raw sound, full process... Just chef's kiss.
    A little feedback. It would be nice to know additional info about cleaning products: Is it degreaser? What type? Vinegar? Water? Isopropyl alcohol? What grease type? People don't know that certain grease can ruin your bike. How to deal with hard stuck dirt if you don't have an ultrasonic cleaner. What to do if you don't have X tool, etc, etc.
    I know how to do most of service stuff and have the essential tools, but there's always begginners that start from scratch. There's thousands of "top 10 tips" about this but very few people do quality work as you do. Just giving you some ideas for future content.
    Keep doing what you do! Thank you.

      Thank you for your feedback and advice. Indeed, people often ask about fluids and lubricants. We try to answer in comments, some explanations are in subtitles. In the old videos, washing and cleaning is done without an ultra-sonic washer, with hands and brushes😃

    Thanks for the informative video. In the past, I wouldn't take apart the derailleur to clean. Unfortunately, I learned the hard way, that my derailleur jockey gears would wear down, or stick. The cleaning and lubricating of them helped them last longer and the bike pedal easier. Thanks

    Дивлюся ваші відео - дуже подобається, як охайно робите. Але цього разу трохи не згоден з побаченим. Вимито/відчищено звісно бездоганно, але при цьому скоріше за все було і вимито консистентне мастило з пружини, яка лапку натягує. Я б ще додав маленьку крапельку консистентного мастила на вальниці роликів - коли свої велосипеди обслуговую, то так і роблю.

    • @NiceBikeService
      @NiceBikeService  Před měsícem +2

      я з Вами згодень, щодо пружини лапки, бажано роскручувати.
      але на практиці, ми помітили, що нічого страшного з цим коїться. Вийнято - це пепемикачі зі Shadow+.
      а щодо ролликів, так одні кажуть, що треба мастити, інші кажуть навпаки)
      типу мастило натягне більше піска і воно там буде шкрябати.
      с заводу мастила немає, дорочі)
      знову ж таки, при експлуатаціі не помічено різниці)

      @@NiceBikeService тоді по роликам це справа смаку. Я наношу неймовірно мало - малесеньку маслянисту плівку. І за рахунок цього бруд якщо і натягується, то не значний мінімум.

    After dropping the derailleur body into the ultrasonic cleaner, it should be your duty to clean and apply new grease to the derailleur tension spring and the derailleur carriage spring.

    Salutation... Je viens de faire un peu de nettoyage de ma transmission mono 12 vitessse XT sur mon vtt , et en remontant les galets du derailleur arrière je me suis aperçu qu'il ne tourne pas dans le bon sens lorsqu'ils sont montés "écriture face extérieurs" du dérailleur. Le galet g est bien en haut et le p en bas.. on m'avait dit ecriture côté extérieur mais là je suis dans le flou... si vous avez des explications.. merci d'avance...

    Fajnie, że pokazujesz jak to się robi w PROFESJONALNYM serwisie. Szkoda, że nie pomyślałeś, iż normalny posiadacz roweru nie kupi myjki ultradźwiękowej za kilka tysięcy, żeby umyć element za 100-200 zł...
    Mam też zastrzeżenia do tego, że nie piszesz co wlewasz i w jakich proporcjach. To czerwone to oranżada a potem wódki dolałeś?
    Profesjonalny serwis, gdzie same narzędzia i sprzęt to kilkaset tysięcy złotych to może tak wygląda. W przydomowym garażu użytkownik umyje to myjką ciśnieniową lub parową i tyle.

    Unnecessary cosmetics. I ride bicycles everyday last 34 years. I never disassembled and cleaned my derailleurs except of the pulleys instantly without remove them. one minute job yearly. I have right now 5 different bikes. The oldest one from 2008. All the derailleurs working great without any necessity to replace to new one. All those years I replaced just recently 2 pulleys for one of the derailleurs. All the derailleurs are 9 speed Shimano Deore - old style: RD-M591 and RD-M510. The weakness of most derailleurs is the spring. And for that- you have nothing to do. Just to pray. And please never oil the spring. NEVER! Not even necessary to clean it. Just leave it as it is.
    Of course there is one exception: In muddy situation. But not necessary to disassemble anything. And again don't spray the spring by WD40 or something similar.
    NB my comment is only about the derailleurs. Of course you have to change the cables every 2-3-4 years. Depends how often you ride.

    • @Cycle-Tourer
      @Cycle-Tourer Před měsícem +1

      About SPD pedals: I use 22 years same model for all my bikes: Shimano PD-M324 pedals. It's dual use pedals: One side SPD, Other side flat pedal. This pedal model is maybe the most durable pedals Shimano ever manufactured. I use them on road and off road. I clean them just with Dry and hard brush, And yes I oil only the upper parts that contact the cleats without oiling the sparing. So far all the pedals working fluently. Some of them I installed first time 22 years ago.... I have another 2 new sets I bought about 10 years ago, But I still didn't use them.
