I use a toothpick and adding anymore tools will just make me forget I've even got it. Maybe I'm just old school. I just started to use the Extra Thin Tamiya glue.

If you're using very thin CA glue, can you touch these to a spot and let capillary action do the rest like the plastic cements?
@scaleffect yes, I've done that a few times when I don't want glue everywhere like with a brush.
