- Back in 2000, I acted as Toastmaster for SFWA's Nebula Awards Weekend, which was held in New York that year. The event was recorded by the Rochester Fantasy Fans, a group which gave me a DVD containing a video of the evening. Here's Daniel Keyes, author of "Flowers for Algernon," accepting SFWA's Author Emeritus Award.
Man is a genius of empathy...
Its wonderful to see the author.
Yeah this was a great book, I'm going to be doing a report on it for school.
Thank you for uploading this!!!
Thank you so much for updating this video. From Japan.
I am shocked that mine is only the tenth comment beneath this video. Flowers for Algernon is, in my opinion, without question one of the very greatest short stories ever written, yet its author, Daniel Keyes, was rarely seen. 'Flowers' has stayed with me all my life since first reading it in the 7th grade over forty years ago. I enjoyed this glimpse of the author. Thank you.
Only because this video deserves more comments. I just now read the book, and I am so glad I did. Wow. Thanx for uploading.
Thank you 🌷🌿
This is great. Thank you!
I am ashamed to say that at middle age I have just read his book. As someone who considers themselves somewhat intelligent, the question has to be asked why do we as humans focus so much on intellect rather than happiness? I can clearly see why this book is a "Must Read" . Two thumbs up Dan ! Rather late but still Thank you !
Read it a few weeks back, loved it.
Not nearly as famous as Catcher in the Rye here in the UK but much better in my opinion.
RIP you legend
Thank you for the video.
