Call of Duty Black Ops 4 beta weekend #2 added a new game mode called Heist. Heist is a fun mode that is kind of like CSGO meets SnD and it is slowly becoming one of my favorite modes. This video tries to explain what BO4 Heist gameplay is, how to win, and some general thoughts for improvements.

This mode is definitely to give us a feel for Blackout. The scavenging, reviving, etc. I think the mode (Heist) is great.
iNicki1 i reckon the guns system as well will be similar, the rarer the variant of weapon the more attachments, I reckon those attachments will be the same as the ones you can buy
They said somewhere a couple months ago that they are not yet sure if the looting system in Blackout will be rarity and variant based or featuring separate attachments that you can find and add to your weapon PUBG style. Seems like they've decided.
I honestly prefer the system where you have to actually find attachments as it gives you far more flexibility and is less repetitive.

As a Counter Strike and CoD player, this gamemode deserves a lot more credit than what people are giving it.
For the first time in a while, this mode actually slows down the pace of CoD and puts more emphasis on working together. The money system and increased time to kill makes running with teammates essential to staying alive and winning a round. This gamemode will be exciting to watch amongst the pros and what strategies come of this new mode.
I love hiest mode its super fun.
Quick Explanation: it CSGO/Heist mode from BF Hardline
As a PS4 player, I've always been intrigued with CSGO, but never had the opportunity to play since I don't have a gaming PC. This mode tickles that fancy a bit and it's fun.
Maybe the round should end if all the enemies are downed and the cash is not grabbed. But if the cash is grabbed and all the enemies are dead maybe they could introduce a short timer before the match ends. If the team scores the objective in that time then it ends there, if not the timer ends the match.This would push the objective and make for less awkward match endings.
Best game mode for sure is heist.
I hope they release the player count for the game, that would be a good thing to laugh at for a little bit.
I have a astro Headset and I can hear other players footsteps vary clearly when they are really close. I wish they had audio presets on Console like they did in the last two games. It would help a lot.
To me this looks like a test mode for a lot of the Blackout mechanics. Reviving teammates, the inventory screen, picking up items scattered throughout the map, etc.
Heist is almost a straight copy of Hostage Rescue mode from Counter-Strike. Search and Destroy is a slightly less obvious copy of Bomb Defusal mode from Counter-Strike. I don't see how one is a copy of Counter-Strike but the other isn't.
well CSGO/Counterstrike 1.6 doesn't have downed and the money you get from round(s) performance along with how that game is slow and methodical instead of running around. So that different but was big 1.6 and earlier fan so up for trying this mode in Open Beta
I dont really like the heist mode but i love how it gives us teasers for what will be in the BR mode. Downing, reviving, salaving ammo and heals etc. I just hope they remove the ability to kill a downed player in blackout, so it forces them to kill the remaining players, its no fun when u die at the start of the match and you have to watch your team play for 20min only for them to lose because their a man down

I never pay for ammo and also I only get the light armor bc I usually use the sec smg on heist with all the attachments and stealth perks.
I’m loving this game mode one thing I would like to try at least would be when you die you lose your weapons. Or you could pick someone’s up and bring it to the next life like in CSGO
They should have mini heist and maximum heist as two seperate playlists
Mini heist is the usual rounds and max is like 12-16 rounds
I see the round not ending after you've wiped everyone kind of like in CSGO when the terrorists plant the bomb and they all die but you still have to defuse to win. When the enemy team is down, what happens if you don't score the cash, do you lose?
I haven't played it yet but I feel like it is kinda similar to the spec ops mode from mw3
Can you pick up weapons off your opponents dead body?
I think we could even see those different levels of armor in blackout.

it's a neat addition, I think it'll be great for the game's longevity
it seems like they new modes are gonna split up the COD community heavy in game tho. So they might be hurting their game long term. Got people playing Blackout, Zombies, the new modes like Heist or Control and then you have the OG modes and the hardcore playlist.
zip none This game isnt going to have longevity with that way it is now. Maybe besides infinite warfare this has a lot of hate towards it already which is really bad for longevity of a game and on top of that its cod and cod's usually die in 6 months anyways.
Maybe I’m weird but armour is the last thing I buy normally I’ll get team link first and gun seconds and depending on. How well I’m doing I upgrade my gun or perks and get the sensor dart

They should send in strike teams horde style when you’ve killed everyone so that the pressure is still on for you to get the loot and get out quick .

they need to change when u died u lose your gun and they need to change the revive cuz that is way to quick if there together they can just keep reviving them
I love hiest however I think that it should be first to 10 so that there is room to have full buys and the option to have save rounds. Thoughts anyone

I mean, it being CSGO isn't a bad thing, it just kind of reinforces the fact that they never really do anything fully "new" with CoD anymore, which is why I stopped playing

If they try something new you still complain. Nowadays cod can’t win with people like you anymore. Which comes to the conclusion that it’s not really the games fault it’s you.
Calm down, man. Like I said, I stopped playing Call of Duty because almost everything they do nowadays is either inspired by another game, which isn't inherently bad. This is a good example, Heist is fun, I've just played it before. Or, if it's not from another game, it's just straight up from another Call of Duty. I miss back when each CoD dev had their own mode, zombies for Treyarch, Spec Ops (and eventually survival) for IW. Now they just all do zombies, and still only Treyarch does them well. I didn't get mad when they added jetpacks, in fact I was quite happy that they were adding a new movement system into the mix, although I feel the AW system was flawed, I feel BO3 did it the best, and IW's maps did not fit the system well. I did however get annoyed that they used that movement system repeatedly for the next 3 years, this is when I dropped out of Call of Duty, because of the stagnant nature (and lootboxes). I just don't feel CoD is worth my hard earned dollar anymore when I can spend the same amount or less on a game that does original things with it's mechanics and shakes up the market. If you like Call of Duty and want to buy it every year, then good on you, go ahead. I'm not going to tell you what or what not to spend your money on, and I'm not going to tell you that you're wrong for liking a game.

Brady Ward I respect your opinion and thank you for not making me seem bad for liking a game like most cod haters do. Still though you need to understand that shooters can hardly innovate nowadays. Almost everything has been done and it’s getting harder and harder. For example what could be the most original thing for a shooter that hasn’t been done yet? If you can’t answer then you’ll see why it’s so hard to innovate a developed genre
Most innovative multiplayer game mode imo. Takes the best parts of cod and mixes in a gradual upgrade per round to have better gear or armor and streaks. Love it. Offers a much slower paced gameplay
It's neat but once you find which guns get the ap rounds those are the only picks
The only thing I would love to see added to this mode is if you die they can pick up your gun there is something about killing the guy in your next round with his own gun and a crazy cool camo.
So the person who escorts the cash is the only one who gets the money? Not the rest of the team?
Im Legit Only the cash from the bag, but its usually only around 400 in the bag, things like round rewards are between all players
Im Legit You get money for your team winning but if you get the cash and depost you get an extra 1200

I feel they should add this new thing to Search and Destroy as well where you can get down but not out and you have a small chance of getting picked up again by your teammates if there are nearby
Had a round where our full team ran into 4 enemies, won the fight with everyone downed but one teammate. Teammate ignores us and retards off to the other side of the map losing the round.
I really enjoy this mode honestly. People saying it is copying counter strike, please find me a game that doesn't copy other games. Every game copies another one in some way.

Drift0r can you do a vid on strafing and jumping it's so broken in this game. I was just playing control on the PC Open beta and I made it to their spawn before they made it to one of the points. You can jump so high and far and if you wiggle in the air and crouch you can go miles

Heist can be lots of fun got the whole team to only use rockets and was dominating with them then the other team got mad and they all started using them too
So why we got some insane rockets fights every round
Personally i’m not a big fan of BO4 emphasizing specialist abilities & tactical 5-man squad gameplay.
This shift in gameplay just doesn’t mesh well w/ CoD & especially trying to coordinate/strategize with randoms, as it’s more of a of a “me 1st mentality” type game.

I remember when I played heist are team was up good on score so for me since I was sitting pretty good with $8000 I thought I buy the attack chopper and I was playing on the good open map gridlock and the probably the best op game winning play I did which was pretty ballsy since there was only three of us alive but the chopper did work!

This mode is great. My buddy and I have been playing it pretty much all day on the pc beta. Also really cool to see a great pc port for cod.

So the concept of relying on cash for keeping yourself alive belongs to CSGO and any game that does anything similar is copying, despite the fact that it's hard to innovate in a very old, developed game genre?

The point of the game is to get the money, so the point of the game after you kill everyone is to get the money and the time is reduced to keep the level of tension

S&D is one of the best modes tbh my favorite mode is Demolition and domination but s&d is a classic

Hello driftor, i always watch your videos and enjoy all of them so far,i just want to suggest you make a video about torques wire abillitie,all the time theres a enemy behind the wire dont matter how much you shoot your shots always hit the wire but not the enemy behind it,theres ocassions that i could have a double or triple kill but i dont hit them bc the wire reacts like a metal cover is hard to explain,im not a bad player my kd is like a 1.8,just wanted to point that out,thanks driftor

looks like a fun game mode - but with all the BO4 problems - the whole play as a group does not happen when you are a solo player online - everyone runs to middle of map and dies
the round definitely needs to end when everyone dies
I don't think the solution to people not being able to buy good stuff is to make the games longer, just make everything cheaper (or give people more money, same thing) so people can buy more stuff. The up to 7 rounds feels great to me, decent amount of time to commit to the game.

I like this idea, say what you will about it being a copy of CSGO, but not everyone has a PC or the money for a decent PC to play games like CSGO, etc. although you don't need a really good gaming PC to play a game like CSGO. I look forward to playing this game mode
