She is amazing and her daughter mimics her phrasing and vocal choices. Reminds me of how Kierra's voice is so reminiscent of her mom Karen. I think she is gonna be a powerhouse.
For someone not religious I love how it seems your always fighting a shout listening to gospel. Let it out! 😂😂😂
I am constantly juggling between staying professional and being swept up by the raw conviction of these amazing singers. I've never seen so many performers in a genre be so consistently compelling in their performances. Folks would talk about the church education of singers like Jazmine Sullivan and I can totally see it.
Lol! Right. He just need to find a really good holy ghost filled Black Church with a good music department and attend faithfully every Sunday. This singing from Rachelle, Tamela Mann, Leandra, Clark Sisters (Kierra Sheards Momma & Aunties), Tye Tribett, Richard Smallwood all this you will get every Sunday!
Look at little Kurt Carr behind Leandra at the end. He can direct a choir.
To me she's the best singer I've ever heard. Great analysis
Thanks Xavier. I totally agree she is up on mount Olympus.
Facts I'm on board with you bro
You definitely are analyzing some examples of black music excellence! Thanks for doing Le’Andria! Her voice and vocal manipulation is monstrous and subtle at the same time. Such a beast.
Totally inspiring and intimidating all at once 🤣
I think it's really cool to watch you set into yourself as a vocal teacher in real time, especially when reviewing different genres of music that are foreign to you. You're super uplifting dude.
To your first point, The thing is when you are in church the audio is not the best so if you make a mistake or even go off key a little. We can can hear it sis lol, yes we can. So perfection is vital. But moma is the goat!!
church audio is the worst!
Can you please react to Tamela Mann - Change Me live! You’d love it
I agree....she was calm and confident, and she lit that church up. Added to that, she was singing one of Edwin Hawkins's iconic Gospel songs...with his choir, reading the words from a sheet...and adding her own twist!! Just amazing. She is one of my favorite Gospel artists...It is such a joy to hear her sing.
The Holy Spirit makes your sing sound like that perfect sound
She's Simply The Best. Thank You CREATOR FOR THIS GIFT YOU GAVE LEANDRIA JOHNSON. TO BLESS US.
💯 agree
You should REEEEALLY listen to the original sung by the Hawkins family, led by Lynette Hawkins. She was just as perfect!
Thank you so much for your reaction! She is my favorite singer
1:47 - in my opinion, if you listen to Le'andria more and more, you'll notice that she has such a huge voice that I think she HAS to manipulate her vowel sounds and the way she sings, to get the notes and volume that she wants. Hopefully that makes sense.
AND all while reading the lyrics!!!😫🥰🥰🥰LeandriaJohnson!🥰🥰🥰
Man that was intense.. I love her singing but to have it broken down is even more amazing.
I agree to be that calm to sing a song that you need to hold the lyrics for is phenomenal. I would forget where I even was on the paper. Lol
I love your respect for different music
4:20-4:25 yes. I guess that's what I was trying to say. She's just a natural born singer. A smart, thinking singer.
I enjoyed your reaction to this song. This is one of my favorite songs sung by Le'Andria Johnson. Olympic vocals indeed and so much more👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Ok in the black church we don't do paper with words or sheet music unless you don't know the song. The funny part is she doesn't know the words or the song very well. It's an old church choir song from the 80's or 90"s I think by Walter Hawkins choir. We have all heard it but If you have never sung it, it's wordy. So for her to pull it off not knowing the words is the most impressive part.
That growl in gospel is from gospel quartet music.
I would love to see your analysis of Whitney Houston’s “ A Quiet Place” and “Wonderful Counselor” from the AMA!
That performance of A Quiet Place 😭😩 with her momma watching her in awe.
Loved your reaction. Thank you for taking the time to do this with my favorite singer ever and being nice.
You are the perfect combination of humorous and informative! So glad I subscribed!
Man love the mic pull breakdown! These videos really help us to appreciate these performances even more👏🏾
I love your reactions. They are very informative. :)
I just love your reacts this was actually fun to go along with you.
She is a beast in the game and yes to @ Ladarius
I absolutely LOVE your videos!!!!! 💙
I second that comment of you reacting to Change Me live by Tamela Mann! Greatness at its best!
Love this analysis. Thank you so much for the insight.
Thank you for the thank you Chelsea 😃
8:30 - she once said after she's finished singing like, the 1st line or 1st verse of a song, she's fine.
I remeber that. When talked abt her performance with Yolanda.
Awesome.
Naaaah I felt you at 3:17 and knew exactly what meant. I was cracking up😭
My Favorite Video from her I Love U Le💜💜💜U did good Sir..! I don’t think some people understand this Magical▶️💜💜
Please react to
Callie Day
Tamela Mann Tribute
what she is doing is telling a story not with the words but her body. every movement brings about a different effect. it is the feeling that helps narrate the song.
Look up (Nikta Fox) you would loose it. Listen to GOD Blocked it. Kurt Carr... Nikita Fox another Amazing Gospel Singer.
Omg 😂😂 @2:22 she didn’t know the words , you doing to much , she literal has the paper in hand and this is SOUL music
I think another singer you'll enjoy is Jai'len Josey.
Omg, yes! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
In "Black Church" 😂😂🤣
You just gotta be ready for the soloist to feel the spirit and turn a 3min song into a 10min song. End then get fired back up 🤣😂
Choir and singer been left the words of the song Looong ago. So all musicians and choir must learn to follow the lead of the soloist. And soloist must learn how to direct the choir and musicians whick singing in the spirit. Common occurrence. Happens all around the world every Sunday. Revivals. Church musicals. 🤣😂
We all used to laugh about this as kids.
You should listen to her performance with choir "lord deliver me"
Please react to LaShun Pace, Be Grateful
That's exactly who I had in mind that if he heard her he'd loose it especially the songs "For My Good" and "I've Been Changed"
I love your videos....Wish I could sing lol
He had to take a breath🙏
You should review Ledisi's vesion of this also if you get a chance.
I need a voice teacher I mean a good one
As far as teachers who can teach this style, Jaron is far more familiar than I as he grew up with it. I can teach a few different genres but not the stuff Le'andria is known for.
