- At the 2020 Winter NAMM Show, Taylor Guitars released a number of new models and in doing so added to the ever growing Builder's Edition Collection, as it is now being called. One of those models was the new Builder's Edition 912ce, the first Grand Concert 6 string guitar to be added to the line up. Bringing the Builder's Edition features to the smallest full size body shape in Taylor's line is something that I had been personally lobbying for. As a finger style player the smaller body size brings an immediacy of attack and dynamic range with a light touch that is unavailable in larger guitars. Adding the Builder's Edition appointments makes an already comfortable guitar practically transparent to the player. Those specific appointments include: armrest bevel, cutaway bevel, compound cutaway, chamfered binding, silent satin finish, softened wing bridge and Gotoh tuners. The top has been changed to Lutz Spruce on this model providing a deep resonant bass character that pairs well with the overtone rich East Indian Rosewood.

Stunning guitar in every way! Love the sound. I tried one of these yesterday, and I about had a heart attack! Playability is like butter. The guitar I played had the most gorgeous paua inlay in bright deep blue. Looked like Australian opal. It was a drop-dead gorgeous guitar. 🤪😍 I can’t say anything negative about that instrument. It is everything I want in a guitar. Sooo comfortable to hold, and so easy on the fretting hand. The instrument is so responsive to even the lightest touch that the player can perform at any dynamic level his/heart desires. It delivers a rich, vibrant sound at whatever volume you play. It projects beautifully and has sustain forever. I gotta have one!

Beautiful guitar and I totally agree with you about the '12' and it's pickability . I'm lucky to have a 20 year old 912c with Cindy inlay; and of the 12 guitar's in my collection , this is the one I would run back into the burning house for.

Also, Once again, I really like your first flatpicking walk out which you noted down from Andy power, Taylor as you mentioned last time. I am always playing myself in my room and have a real groove in my mind always and it makes me pleased once I play it again and again as source of self solace. I agree with you that people should buy good guitar as it enhances the inspiration more in playing guitar as if we can play any type of musics with it.

Hi Chris, nice to see you with Taylor guitar again. To be frank, my next high end guitar will be from Taylor. The type of my would-be next guitar, will be of natural colour ,solid sitca spruce torrified top but Indian Rosewood for back and side but it should be of an attractive Fingerboard/Fretboard with pure dark Ebony(West African) with brilliant dot or, diamond inlays either with black or white binding, headstock with nice Taylor logo and gold coloured 5/10 special tuners from Taylor. Also, I still value a lot of the typical Taylor guitar sound which is not of V-class bracing. That means ---When I purchase my next guitar , I will be comparing it with V-class bracing other non V-class bracing as I am very impressed with the so called " Typical Taylor guitar sound" which I feel always lovely. Not interested in some new types of available woods etc--etc. At the end of the day, I should be able to hear the type of sound I wanna get. Lastly, it should feel like a real premium feel with nice Abalony binding and Abalony rosette etc around the sound hole.
