What I did different. No larva in the cell builder . Cell builder got 6 or 7 frames of capped brood 10 days before grafting above a queen excluder. Cell builder got all the foragers. only shook half of the nurse bees into the cell builder. they also had a super of nectar that was put on the bottom. Basically did it the Michael Palmer way. Make sure you don't flip the larva. Good luck on future tries. One more thing I wasn't wearing any bee suit or vail.
@@decaturridgebees8761 But a little negative reinforcement sure does make you pay attention. I should post my vid and let you count all the stings I got that day , it was a bit rainy.
Oh and one more thing, next time lay the frame across the top of the nuc and smoke the bees off the frame so you can see your cells. With the brush you risk harming them. Best of luck!
It’s just a 5 frame deep nuc box. The inner covers are plywood and i put a 3/8 rim on both sides. Then i drill a 2-3/4” hole to fit a feeder. Thanks for watching
Love your videos bro! Ok since I am a noob at this grafting... my question is aren’t you worried about putting all those nurse bees back with the mother hive after being queenless for 2 days in fear of fighting the queen in the mother hive or possibly having flight bees left in the cell builder hive...
Not at all. Nurse bees will just see it as cells that need finishing. The queen will kill them though if you don’t put an excluder. Check out Richard Noel who does Michael Palmers system. Works awesome
Turkey feather works great to get bees of the cups. Good first start. Thanks for sharing
If i were a good turkey hunter this problem could have been resolved lol!
Congrats..you're a heck of a keeper of bees!
Lol, i don’t know about that buddy.
Awesome! Thanks for the lesson I learned much!!!

Great job! I’m going to try my first time this spring as well what are measurements on your boxes? And how do you make your inner covers?
