What would you say that flavor difference between Basswood and sourwood is like
I’ve never had sourwood. We don’t get it in michigan

Haha right
@decaturridgebees8761 * I shared it to @HillbillyEarl
📃 And your Lord revealed to the bees , Take houses in the mountains and in the trees and in what they erect, then eat of all the fruits and follow the paths of your Lord humbly.” From their bellies emerges a drink of various colors, in which there is a cure for people. Indeed, in that is a sign for a people who reflect 📃
Can't wait to see how she and her daughters perform!
Right on!
Very cool! Very thorough. Interesting
Huh? I have never heard of that process!
Need sun glasses 😂 brilliant queen
Drone comb, she likes laying fat workers 😮
Cells without bars😂
Have you noticed that it does not seem to soak into the hand holes as well. I scrub the hand holes with a sponge after they have soaked and that seems to encourage it to soak in better in those areas. I do like it, been doing it for 3 years so far, very happy overall. Yuup big fan as well.
Interesting. I soaked my for 3mins each side. I wonder if that was better or worse.
I don’t think it can be worse
U r marking the top of her thorax not her back. Very respectfully.
Yes one of my many gaffes . Thx for the correction my friend
How do the 7 mil compare to a thinner 6 mil for dexterity and stings? Thanks.
Haven’t tried the 6 so couldn’t say
@decaturridgebees8761 First of all, responding to a comment on a four year old video is impressive. I tried sixes and eights today, and I liked the eights. Good dexterity, and some sting protection. I think for me they will be the pathway to no gloves at all, soon. Thanks.
Just witnessed one in a tree beside my house this weekend. It was amazing!!
Where you at it's been awhile since loaded up a video
I’m slacking i guess! I do appreciate you watching
Good point
I need to start using it.
Do lots of open minded research before you do. 99% of people seem to stop using it after a year or two. Many had total failure of the box after just 2 years. Good luck either way.
I'm planning on trying to raise my own queens. Thanks for sharing!
😱👍👍💪🙂
Does that get cut with anything?
Water
Nice work. My preference when assembling woodenware is to glue and then nail/screw. Probably not necessary, but just how I do it. Never had a joint separate; The wood rots before that would happen.
Well Done !
Have you had any issues now that they've been around for a several months? Looks a lot easier than painting
No issues here. My boxes are glued though.
Same results as above from Florida Beekeeping man ! Top joints warped and enough so that it ruined about 10 brand new boxes both mediums and deeps ! Could be our climate here in central Florida but we will never use Eco treatments again , we were deeply disappointed and what sounded like a great idea !
Central Florida here also. What do you normally use? We are doing primer and paint for now. Wanting to try wax dipped maybe next spring. Definitely Florida is really hard on wood.
@@tireballastserviceofflorid7771 we primer and paint now as we did before we experimented with the Eco stuff . Also wax dip works great
It’s humid here but we don’t have your heat however I’m wondering if you glued your boxes. I do have a couple medium that I found warping from 5 years back at the top joint. Noticed they weren’t glued or fastened there. I usually glue ahead of time and dip a day later
How did the Eco-wood hives & tops do ?
So far so good. I think I have some 4 or 5 years now. They look like they got plenty of life in them
I will say that I did some tops a year or to back and they are warping a bit but they are 3 pieces. Wish I hadn’t painted those
I treated two nuc boxes with Eco Wood last year in South Florida. The joints are failing and both tops warped. It's always humid and or raining down here though. I'm sure it works great in most climates but I don't recommend it for the sub tropics.
Who was the manufacturer of your woodenware?. I've had issues with one supplier specifically. Warping boxes, frames not fitting boxes, etc.
@@beebob1279 I buy all my equipment from South Florida Bee Supply. It’s top notch commercial grade. Never had an issue prior.
Really cool. I’ve never heard of this. I may give this a try this year on a bunch of new lids I bought. Thanks. Take care!
Thank you, from a fellow Michigander
My pleasure
Amazing footage.. I’ll know what is about if I ever hear it in my hives.
Only men admit to mistakes, sissies do not. I enjoy your vids.
She's a beauty!
Wow
That's a virgin queen!
Nice looking nucs. We're checking for eggs in our splits & nucs too. Where did you get your queen cells?
I raise all my own queens. Only exception this year was when i bought some virgins from Kobe apiaries. He had a harbo breeder i wanted some daughters from. All the ones in this video series were raised by me. I’m sure i have a video of the last graft somewhere.
There is nothing anymore gratifing in bee keeping for me, than a queen , coming home.
Truer words have not been spoken! I raised a lot of queens this year and had the same feeling every time!
Well alright nice bunch you got there.
Just wondering how long you had banked those virgin queens. Ok the answer was later in the video Lol
Good luck with the new queen👍🏻
Thank you friend!
Don't you just love it when she runs and hides in a clump of bees
Haha yea
Caution! When you release the queen. She can get caught in the gate...beware.
To fiddly. A simple round cage is easier.
Can we get an update? Did they supersede her?
Not as of yet! On another note though I had another colony supersede the queen. I noticed the other day more supersedure cells but the pattern looked great. I opted to split the colony up and pinched the queen who looked amazing. Dropped in two virgins. Came back 5 days later to destroy cells again. I found one frame that was open brood now mostly capped and drone brood was scattered about. Not a terrible amount but def enough to see she’s failing. The bees knew
I found the colony last week without the queen and i keep checking for the new queen and see no sign at all. I think it failed :(
@@decaturridgebees8761 well 99/100 ain't bad! Lol
hope she rocks it for you
Thx!
Be great if you explain what the heck is happening for the curious yet ignorant.
When you extract the honey from the boxes and set them out the bees find them and are attracted to the residual honey left over. They will clean up every last drop
I found that so many are afraid to make a mistake that they don't even try.
