Yes, you can use screw joints on wheels and gears. Just put the green / bronze free spinning inserts into them, similar to the sprocket in the video. However, you will still need square shafts on some part of the robot. The gear / wheel the motor powers must use a shaft. Shafts are also useful for driving something over a long distance, like rubber band intakes. Most other use cases can be done using a screw joint.
@@questc yeah I did! It turns out it depends on the inserts you use for the wheel. There are square inserts and circle inserts, the circle inserts are perfect for screw joints.
for antistatic wheel- just screw it together using screws and nuts or zip tie it, and for regular green omniwheels - connect 2 stand offs to the gear and shove it into the wheel.@@questc
