Eastern State Penitentiary is a haunted and historic prison located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The historic prison was constructed in 1829 and the 11 acre site hosted some of nineteenth and twentieth century America's most notorious criminals. This includes, but is not limited to, famous Chicago gangster Al Capone.
Eastern State Penitentiary is one of the best things to do and see in Philadelphia and allows the visitor to step back in time and learn about the history of criminology and the prison system in the United States.
Interestingly, Eastern State Penitentiary is considered one of the most haunted sites in America, and is a haven for paranormal investigators and those interested in paranormal phenomenon. Hi SG. Yes they do one of the most messed up Haunted Houses ever in October. This girl I know told me you can indicate if they're allowed to touch you or not, and they will pull you into the cells. I haven't been, but I want to go next year.
