- Thine Be the Glory, Risen Conquering Son (French: À toi la gloire O Ressuscité), also titled Thine Is the Glory, is a Christian hymn for Easter, written by the Swiss Protestant minister, Edmond Budry (1854-1932), and set to the tune of the chorus "See, the Conqu'ring hero comes" from the third section of Handel's oratorio Judas Maccabaeus. The hymn is sometimes sung at weddings or funerals, and in Ireland is associated with Christmas as well as Easter. An English translation was written in 1923 by Richard Hoyle (1875-1939). The German Advent hymn Tochter Zion, freue dich uses the same tune.

Praise God!
Missing these great days of worship.

Excellent
Merci de ce partage
Perfecto! Per usual!
WOW ! Toujours aussi beau et toujours une joie de l'écouter plus d'une fois. C'est le 1er chant entendu à l'émission dominicale "Meeting Place" à la CBC en anglais. Existe-t-il une traduction française? MERCI pour ce généreux partage ... and BIG kisses of gratitude and admiration from QUÉBEC ... XOX
The hymns of my youth. Nowadays in California, our churches have abandoned the traditional hymns, and gone to deafening rock music.
Really?
Wallis Warfield Simpson walked into the Music Room (at the Château de Candé), to this piece, when she married The Duke of Windsor in 1937.
Probably to the words Hail the conquering hero comes.
@@richardbrewer6361 Touché - you are very quick-witted!
She wasn't much to begin with, and she "conquered" even less a human being. @@19gregske55
Too twee for my taste. They seem to have removed this hymn's natural, internal energy.
