    0:00 Introduction
0:10 Rise, heart; thy Lord is risen. Sing his praise, (solo)
    without delays,
Who takes thee by the hand, that thou likewise
    With him may’st rise:
That, as his death calcined thee to dust,
His life may make thee gold, and much more, Just.
2:40 Awake, my lute, and struggle for thy part
    With all thy art.
The cross taught all wood to resound his name,
    Who bore the same.
His stretched sinews taught all strings, what key
Is best to celebrate this most high day.
Consort both heart and lute, and twist a song
    Pleasant and long:
Or since all music is but three parts vied,
    And multiplied;
O let thy blessed Spirit bear a part,
And make up our defects with his sweet art.

The soloist is amazing! His pitch and diction are excellent and his beautiful voice has both brilliance and warmth. His musical interpretation is exceptional for this piece. Not all baritones get the changes in character throughout this piece, but he does so very well. Vaughan Williams is smiling in heaven.

Ralph Vaughn Williams....who in interview was like any academic quick to clarify his 'agnosticism'...well...in my exprience some of his greatest work is within the realm of the spirit. His earlier pieces were disidely rejectant of the 'lost generation' nihilism towards the 'spiritually bucolic'...our best voices. This 'God': good orderly direction...meditation wss within the healing powers of nature and beauty to erase the unspeakable beastilness of service in WW 1....and a world in crisis. That which we put our attention on..so we become.

They need to credit their wonderful soloist and organist, at the very least!
