  • Higher Ground, a Gospel Hymn by Charles Gabriel, Arranged for harp by Elizabeth Brosha. Filmed live on the Anniversary Trail, in Los Alamos, NM
    (After carrying the harp on a 10 minute hike to the lookout point, this poor harp had a hard time staying in tune, but its rare to get an outdoor recording with no car noise around! )
    Words by Johnson Oatman written in 1892:
    I’m pressing on the upward way,
    New heights I’m gaining every day;
    Still praying as I’m onward bound,
    “Lord, plant my feet on higher ground."
    Refrain:
    Lord, lift me up and let me stand,
    By faith, on Heaven’s tableland,
    A higher plane than I have found;
    Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.
    My heart has no desire to stay
    Where doubts arise and fears dismay;
    Though some may dwell where those abound,
    My prayer, my aim, is higher ground.

    Hahaha, you are so strong physically and spiritually to carry a big harp like that for 10 minutes' hiking.🤩 Another astoundingly beautiful piece.😘

    Thank you for your persistence getting this lovely recording and location. I am sure the harp received tender care when it made its way back home 🙂
