When the game came out I immediately covered my favorite song from the ost which was Penny's Theme. People seemed to really enjoy it but there were a lot of people who felt spoiled. I decided to give it a bit of time before I covered this one for that reason, so sorry for the wait!
This one's tapping section surprisingly wasn't the hardest part, which is what I thought going in. I actually had a good bit of trouble with the fast section in the middle. Still a very fun song to play.
I played around with so many breath samples for the ravey part and didn't end up liking what I was getting by replicating the original. So I went with this and hope it sounds cool enough.
I have completely stripped away my drums and started over with a totally new kit for this and I'm really interested in what you guys think. I'm not totally sold on the sound yet, but I'm curious what you guys had to say.

Oh, and to address your question in the description: Drums sound a bit... light? Not sure how to word this right... They don't seem to have the "oomf" on reverb from the initial strike sound I associate with drums, where in traditional drums it's caused by the plosive of the air in the drum itself, and with digitals they just do their best to reconstruct the sound. Went and relistened to your THE ROAR OF THE SPARK instrumental cover and the drums have the right "plosiveness" there, for me. I know it's not very technical in concept or terminology, but I hope it helps, Jules!

I think you think that just because it’s pokemon and their final bosses have only just started getting to be S-Tier. Volo is hands down one of the best bosses in gaming and Turo is easily second best of the franchise. If Gamefreak cut down on making new mons and had a story-focused game, we could get a real treat with their current writing team.

Man when I dicovered this music was similar to undertale and deltarune my mind just exploded
Deeper than that, in the original composition, I can almost hear hints of Yosuke Yasui, but with the raw emotion amped to 11.

Being a dude who only beat Violet last week - focusing on completing the dex first in spite of getting it on day one, I can't argue with taking your time with the game.
Even now I'm finding stuff that surprises me - and I've been playing Pokemon since its inception in the west back in the 90s

What I love so much about your covers and remixes is how when making them metal you also look into keeping the identity of the song and the theme it conveys instead of just "Ye, this'll be awesome metal" that I tend to hear from other artists on this platform. I still remember some of your earlier tracks and movements for Minecraft and Kirby 64 and Pokemon and how your worked on bringing the feel of those notes from 8-bit and piano to the guitar while capturing the spirit, like the somberness of Lavender Town or the thought invoking notes of C418 or the playfulness of Banjo Kazooie. Keep up the great work!
Jules is my favorite game cover artist on this platform for exactly this reason. Nobody else treated Megalovania's bass line with the respect it needed to make the song sound right. The top 10 boss battle medley is ridiculously fantastic, I couod really use a full cover of the Saturos battle.

That Lietmotif at 1:36-1:48 and at 2:13-2:35 (including the lead up right at the 2:00 mark) always hit me. With how often that particular melody pops up in the game, it is very much the theme song for the *entire* journey.
Say all you want to about performance issues and what not... this gen's soundtrack and storytelling were on point, and almost comparable with Gen 5.
My memory could be crappy but I don’t recall hearing that leitmotif anywhere outside of area zero, except in Tera Raid battles
I cant name whereexactly i heard the leitmotif’s specifically in others songs but ik they are there it felt like such a finaly i cried my heart out at that scene
If they made an entire game with the same passion as the story devs, it could be one of the best games ever made. Area Zero and Legends: Arceus post game were S-Tier
Even if it only happens at the end, you’re the first cover of this I’ve heard that keeps the percussion at 2:00 as clean and out front as it is in the original. Great job I knew you’d kill it!

Pokemon scores have always been great, but I especially like Scarlet/Violet's. There's a good mix of fun mixed in with epicness

Agreed on the middle part being the most difficult, but you nailed it! Great rendition. The new drums have a nice cut to their sound but I'm far from a professional sound engineer. Overall great cover!
