The whole album, Graceland, is a real feel good album. He was inspired by, and worked with, African artists and rhythms, while writing about going to see Graceland, Elvis’ home and grave.

I then saw Paul Simon with Ladysmith Black Mambazo and it was amazing. Enjoy your walk through Graceland... Paul Simon is a master musician.
I know that you are not old enough to remember the National Lampoon movies but, if you really want to laugh, watch the original National Lampoon's, Vacation with Chevy Chase. It's one of the funniest movies ever done!
Deanna Crownover Christmas Vacation is my favorite!! Great memories watching it as a kid with the fam!! I can still hear my Aunt and my Mom laughing so hard... We were truly blessed with Movies, Music, and TV in the 80s/90s!!!
Paul Simon is such a great songwriter. The story goes he and his wife were invited to an ambassador's home for dinner. They were introduced as Al and Betty. He went home and wrote this song. There is a live version in Hyde Park that is just fantastic.
Here’s a great Paul Simon song from the 70s: “mother and child reunion”. I would say it’s another feel-good song, it’s upbeat and really melodic. Always been a favorite of mine
When I was a kid I thought for years that Chevy Chase was Paul Simon :) This song is deceptively simple, but there's a lot going on: that bass solo at 6:01 consists of two parts: the first half is a normal bass line, the second half is the same bass line in reverse. More great stuff from Paul Simon: - Late In The Evening - The Obvious Child - 50 Ways To Leave Your Lover - Diamonds On The Soles Of Her Shoes - The Boy In The Bubble - Still Crazy After All These Years - Slip Slidin' Away
I really like Paul Simon--he has some great solo work. While I am not that big a fan of this song, the video has always been one of my favorites. Luckily, Paul has always had a great sense of humor but it's Chevy Chase that makes this video so much fun. Love your reaction. Thanks!

There are certain albums where the rules are different after they come out. Albums that change the way people look at the world around them. This is one of those albums.
The Paul Simon documentary is very good if you managed to catch it. Very complicated and interesting guy. He played quite a large roll in highlighting Apartheid in South Africa. He visited the country and loved the local sound, which he included in these songs and took back to the States. I’m South African by the way, so Paul Simon has always been an important artist to me.

Let's not forget that this song - just as the majority of the songs on this album ("Graceland") - was recorded with the participation of genuine African musicians who played here the bongoes, the bass guitar, and probably an assortment of other instruments (including the piccolo flute). :-)
This video still cracks me up😂Chevy Chase was perfect in this. Great song, great video, great reaction.
Glad you liked it. I've loved this song ever since I heard the album, Graceland, when I was a child. There are a lot of really great tracks on that album. Give the whole thing a listen if you get a chance.
So fun!!! Great way to start my day!
This was the first song and video I ever loved as a child. I had no idea that Chevy Chase was lip syncing but loved it all the same😊
This was my favorite song as a kid! ha!
My all time favorite! 😊
I saw a great show of Paul Simon. They did this, and the audience loved it so much, they did it a second time!
