'Time for disassembly' combined with the sound of a grinder spinning up is an ominous combo.

Thankfully you kept it a working saw rather than some show piece for display only. The old oak was a great choice. Nicely done!

What an outstanding restoration! Not a power tool in sight! Using the old table legs for handles was a perfect choice. By far one of the best restorations I’ve seen! Thank you very much for allowing me to see your great talents at work!

Nice job. My grandfather was a timber cutter and he used one of those saws. The wooden handles were never made as beautiful or as permanent as you made them as they were meant to easily and quickly replaced in the field. They always would break and if you were far out in the bush you just needed to keep working. They never had time to do what you did. But great work anyway.

Thank you for your feedback, Svengali! Your grandfather did a great job replacing the handles in the field, is more practical when you have to finish a job! ;)

Nice restoration. However, next time you sharpen this saw file the tops of the teeth level then sharpen to the same height. Easier to work with.

Nice job buddy! Only thing I would've done differently is those bolts for the handles. My opinion is this old saw would've deserved more like hammered rivets or something like that. Great job anyway, keep it going! :)

@Technics F.R yeah you discovered a new musical instrument but a new musical instrument that'll be used to torture and drive a prisoner insane up until he/she can't take it anymore. Now your new instrument needs a proper name.

    • @TechnicsFR

I prefer to see it like a tool or at most like an instrument 😅 There is enough violence in the world😐 But if you want you can name it somehow😁
