I normally mainly read thrillers. I read a mystery thriller by Agatha Christie (And Then There Were None) and it made me want to get into cozy mysteries! I’m excited to read some of these!

My grandmother and I used to read each Stephanie Plum book when it came out and laugh together over the antics in each book. I've been considering going back and listening to them on audio from the beginning, because I stopped around book 19. For me, the series that really made me interested in cozies more recently was the Seaside Cafe Mystery series by Bree Baker. Even tho I started it in the fall, it's a great beach/summer themed cozy series with just a tease of slow burn romance, and the main character had relatable reactions to things and was a character I could root for.

Lol I literally JUST recommended the Seaside Cafe series to someone! I read the first book last summer and it was perfect! I plan to pick it back up this summer simply because the iced tea reminds me of summertime

I just stumbled on your channel and subscribed love to find out about more cozy mysteries out here and the authors. I got into reading cozy mysteries during the pandemic and I became hooked....I absolutely love them! The first series I got into reading were several series by Amanda Flower and she became a quick favorite of mine I have read almost all of her series and currently have several of her books of 3 more of her series she has out. While exploring my local library I found the Isis Crawford A Catered Series which I love and the Hannah Swanson Series by Joanne Fluke. Now I find myself reading several series I check them out 2 or 3 books at time to read...lol I need to stay out of the library for a bit so I can read the ones I have at home....so many books to read and so little time.

Thank you for this list! I have been a cozy mystery reader for years and love seeing the genre become more and more popular. I started reading them because I could find plus size heroines easily. I got started with The Savannah Reid Mysteries by G. A. McKevett and the Odelia Grey Mysteries by Sue Ann Jaffarian. There are 20+ back log in the Savannah series. I also love Ellery Adams, Jana DeLeon, and Juneau Black
I love Agatha Christie as well. I’m sure this is an unpopular opinion but, I do not care for Stephanie Plum. I love her pal Lula, but her antics, every man wants her, and the love triangle just doesn’t work for me. (The cheese stands alone I guess)
Thank you for sharing your love of cozies!

Oh man. I just found you!!! Thanks for the recommendations. I have read all of the Stephanie Plum books and may start over. I also want to try Ellie Alexander’s books based on what you say. I like the amateur sleuth trope but I don’t care for the “bumbling cop” aspect. I love Louise Penny’s series in Three Pines. I also love Scotland Yard detectives but not books that are too gruesome. Anyway. So glad I found you and I’ll be back. Now a subscriber.

Thank you for your recommendations! I have all 5 on hold at my library and am excited to dive in. I came across this genre because I couldn’t decide what library book to get as a prize for our library summer reading. I got the Hannah Dennison “island Sister’s Mystery” and I got hooked. After a long dry spell of no reading I am hooked and finished both books in a week. Totally recommend, wish our library had her other series.

I’m new to your channel. I am really enjoying Agatha Christie after not reading her in years. I also like Patricia Wentworth’s Miss Silver series and Richard Osman’s mysteries. I read a number of Evanovich and enjoyed them but then they started to seem repetitive. I could probably go back to them now and enjoy them. I’m really interested in trying Ellie Alexander, she showed up on one of my FB groups and seems like such a nice person and sounded like she’s a British mystery fan as well. (Can’t remember if it was Christie or someone else she mentioned). I’m looking forward to hearing more suggestions from you!
