I'm a big McKenna fan but it annoys me that the pre-game narrative is always, "we're more concerned about our own game than how they play," and then after the game it's "they changed they way they played and defended well which made it difficult for us." The lack of intensity from us was terrifying yet again in such an important game 😞
I think McKenna is a decent manager but he is a bit of a tinkerman. Needs to find the solution and sharpish otherwise we will struggle to get in the play offs. We can forget top 2.
How did he expect the Gas to play, we were coming off 4 defeats, Joey always plays a attacking game, tonight he stopped the rot with a very good team performance against a top 3 side, and we probably had the better chances to win it
I think the main mistake is not having a tactical variation and in the game model. Every game is the same plan and the teams are ready to face us. McKenna is a very good young coach and should work on that.

He's had a year or so at town and has proven that he isn't; drawing games against pub teams time after time with the biggest budget in the league tells me all I need to know. We took a chance on him and it hasn't paid off. Lets look elsewhere and try and save our season.

Not good enough teams can change the way they play against Ipswich to get a result, why can't Ipswich change formation and tactics to counteract against that and turn these disappointing draws into wins to many changes within the starting 11 does the coaching staf know the best 11 players in the squad ?
Ive long since said youre the easiest team to play against though,, you cant tippy tappy your way out this league you need legs and fitness with it. We (Derby) have the fitness but the older players are starting to flag a little ie legs are wobbling. You dont have the fitness and your style is slow and ponderous and easily defended against if you dont get an early goal. The dtandard in this league is fooking awful though clubs like Derby and Ipswich shouldnt be floating around in it for more than a season or two esp the squads both sides have, add fitness to Ipswich and slightly more direct style, and add some legs for Derby and both should be out of this league in 18 months max. Any longer than that and its clearly fixed for them not to be ffs,, its mind bending that Ipswich are in their fifth season in this league and yet Rotherham dont seem to find it a problem getting out... something isnt right something stinks if you ask me.

Bristol had there tactics spot on, they could of easily won. We had lots of shots but alot of them were never really good chances. They had the best chance were Walton dropped it. Way to many changes within the team , you can't build any Partnerships with our play, where the other top teams do. Very very poor if you really think about the game I think he being a bit dishonest in the proformace.
I feel sorry for him as I feel that on his current trajectory he may not be here this time next year. This is starting to look like a classic case of management by data with little room for adjustment when the conditions change. Ipswich are crying out for an additional striker and more eclectic and faster ways of building play. By the time we’ve sat back and passed them to death the oppositions defence have set. Anything outside the playoffs isn’t good enough for the investment.

Playing style now predictable and need to sort confidence and morale quickly. Maybe sack the team psychologist!!!

Needs to drop Byrnes he is totally off it, give Jackson and Edwards a run on the right side with clarke who is outstanding and could play anywhere on the pitch and is willing to a go at it in general play. Also none of midfielders are making any late runs into the box. Have we scored any goals from a corner the entire season? The stats I am sure are terrible. Both strikers are never in the correct positions when the ball does get delivered from the wings, they are never on the near post always on the back posts?? Sorry for rant just very disappointed that management are not changing things around.
