  • In this video tutorial I show you how to sew a mile a minute. Great technique for sewing all of your fabric scraps randomly together to make a larger piece.
Great for beginners or advanced sewers. You'll learn how to relax a bit with your stitching as points and lining up seams don't matter!

This is exactly what I was looking for! I missed it because I did a search for "crumb quilting". But the videos that I watched for crumb quilting, didn't really show what to do beyond sewing the first three pieces together on long strips. There wasn't much understanding about how to make it into a usable square. Thank you

Thank you so much. Cause I've received so of my sisters scrape bags. And now I can start on doll blankets for the dolls I've crochet for Christmas donations. God bless you for sharing.

Thank you for your beautiful work on those blocks. I just bought a large Ziploc bag of crumbs for $1 not really knowing what I was going to make with them. As a newbie quilter I really needed to see a tutorial such as yours and I'm grateful for your clear explanation of your process. 👍☺️

What an awesome idea! It's like a quick & easy crazy quilt! I was just given a double hand-ful of various denim scraps yesterday. I have been trying to decide on a backing for a cushion for my 11 year old sewing student/protege', and this is going to work great! I'll use the denim scraps to make the back of the cushion, mile-a-minute. The front is going to be the trial stitch-out of a machine embroidered unicorn that we're going to put onto a top that we're going to make for her. She's a unicorn nut. So the plan is to do the practice stitch-out on a large square of her top fabric, so that it can be used as a cushion for her bedroom. I think this is going to be WAY cool for a mature pre-teen!! Thanks so much!!

Your scraps coordinate so beautifully! I’m afraid mine don’t so much. But I’m sure I could still make a quilt from each type! Great tutorial!

so I have this smallish basket that I throw scraps into as I sew....fast forward to sewing them up helter skelter style, so I got one full size top, two table runners, and a baby quilt size...and the basket is still pretty full, mostly they are what I call "chips" tiny and smallish pieces that can be used for another day, also two small trashcans full of snips and trims that could be used to stuff a pet bed or something. So my take on this whole scraps. Now not to say I don't have a respectable stash that I mine for a border and some backing...also I have a bigger bin for bigger scraps, !/4 yard and up, that use for pieced backs, and purse and pouch linings....If I keep going this way I am going to have to live a few hundred years to just break even. oh yeah I even have a scrap bin for batts, which I piece together for less than full size projects....whew ! and I am just starting....on to the jelly rolls, also I cut long strips 2" or more for bindings...

char myers Cotton fabric works best for coasters and mug rugs. Line with heat resistant batting for pot holders & oven mitts. Polyester blends & silk types can't handle heat well. Crumbs are fun. 💚💜💛
