I don't think I picked up on this on first viewing, but Lester's brother tells him 'If you want this to go away you've got to give them someone." so that's just what he does.
Stavros was instructed to take the money to "Gustafson's Parking Garage." This parking garage actually was the project Jerry Lundegaard proposed in the original film to his father-in-law Wade Gustafson, finally taken by his company and now named after him.
I was looking at the numbers and it’s pretty sweet.
We're not a bank, Jerry.
@@mikemoring if I wanted bank interest I go down to Midwest federal and talk to old Bill Diehl.
@@johnmorris8444 He's at Northstar.
“Finder’s fee?”
The parking structure being named Gustafson is a great little call back!
The next few episodes are even better, if you can believe it. Can't wait.
Season 2 has just as many mouth dropping moments. Great writing.
I can never decide which is better, S1 or S2; They're both so good!
The original parking garage encounter from the movie took place in Minneapolis. Although it’s called Fargo, only the first couple minutes of the movie take place in Fargo. It is mainly in the Minneapolis and Brainerd area.
The dim personal trainer got the most dramatic death so far. He may have been dumb but damn to get set up to get lit the hell up.Malvo is evil incarnate.
Thank you so much for getting me into this show!
One more mention=
If you love Billy Bob you’ve got to see:
Sling Blade
he wrote it, directed it, starred in it and won an Oscar for the writing!!
So different, well done!!
(you won’t even recognize him!)
The fish scene … hmmm (quick pivot) … may I suggest the movie Magnolia. It’s a masterpiece with an incredible ensemble cast directed by Paul Thomas Anderson.
So much respect for you not wanting to just get to the next episode 'just because', lol. This show was so painful actually waiting a week at a time, as it, just, kept, getting, better...! 😂
I've been so excited for them to get to this point
“What is this episode?!”
🤣🤣🤣
it can rain fish (and other sea life). It happens more frequently in Texas. This is due to water spouts, tornadoes and hurricanes that empty our populated bodies of water. (Its also where the idea for "Sharknado" came from.)
This season is great, but can't wait for you guys to get to season 2, it's great.
19:22 Gus would have made a great postman.
Running isn’t a solution, it’s a temp fix. Even if Lester has no ties to this town and planned to leave, he isn’t really equipped to survive on the lam. That would just make him look more guilty and they would eventually catch up to him. He needs to clear himself with the police before he could go anywhere else.
Yeah really weird how they blundered on that, it's super obvious.
I enjoyed your discussion at the end about feeling sympathy for the supermarket king.
Yes, Lester was smirking because he is pleased with himself, and now he has become despicable. I think Lester is a bit of a psychopath. Thanks for this, y'all..
A bit? He beat his wife to a pulp with a hammer.
@@KIager
You don’t have to be a psychopath to kill someone in the heat of passion. I think Lester is just a worm who got bullied so constantly that he abused whatever power or advantages finally came his way, and he became so selfish and vindictive that he just lost whatever empathy he had.
@@BareBandSubscription A sociopath, then.
@@KIager
He is at least somewhat sociopathic, sure, but it’s not like he was just born that way.
@@BareBandSubscription If he lost whatever empathy he had left, that would make him a sociopath. Murdering his wife and every subsequent choice he makes throughout the show also qualifies him as a psychopath.
You guys should watch the Dekalog, without question the greatest series ever made. It's Polish but after the first episode, I guarantee you will be completely hooked.
Season 1 is great. Season 2 is maybe my favorite single season of a tv show.
*Lester is just tired of people walking all over him. His high school bully, wife and brother all talked down to him. Running wouldn’t do him any good. He essentially has no one. He’s a small town guy with essentially no aspirations out side of it. So, Lester decided it was finally time for him to win for once*
That's all true but it's not the reason why he framed his brother. He did it because the cops where catching on to his bullshit that he wasn't the poor hapless victim but potentionally involved in two murders. How Daniel missed or forgot about that is really weird, and thinking he could just run and that's it, no more investigation?
@@szeddezs yeah, I think it was kind of obvious . That’s why I didn’t mention it. Your points are valid.
Lester never understood, if you have to destroy the family of your brother to "win", you still lose.
Season 1 is great. Season 2 is better than great. Season 3 takes a left turn but is as good as season 1. Season 4 takes it down a few notches but is still very good. Season 5 comes out at the end of November and stars John Hamm, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Dave Foley. Can't wait.
Thanks -- I did not know there was going to be a Season 5. Will the strike affect the release date?
@@johnw8578the strike already did. Was originally meant to premier in October. Now it's November
Season 4 is not even out on shelf in hmv
@@jamesmeechan6983 And it probably never will be, unless they have a sudden change of heart or some day release a complete series set. Season 3 didn't get a blu ray release, either-DVD only. Seasons 1-2 are the only two seasons that had blu ray releases.
25:10 i think for the framejob on his brother to work he has to stay put. If his runs he puts the suspicion(or half of it) back on himself🤷
Well, tbf, Gus was already shaky and knew Loren was out there and what he was capable of, plus Molly did not call out after the shooting (neither did he, I don't remember), again knowing Loren, he most likely thought Molly was down. It's his inexperience of using his gun and his shaky fear took over.
Age could not call out cause Gus shot her she was unconscious
Weird and unexpected things happen sometimes in Fargo like the fish thing. I don't think fish that big were involved but it has rained fish on rare occasions in real life. The hitmen are called Wrench (deaf one) and Numbers and work for Moses Tripoli if you need a name reminder and don't want to look it up. I'd actually avoid looking stuff up so not to ruin future seasons events, just watch the whole thing blind first. Great reaction, I love the twists and turns keeping you surprised. 😃
You guys are very perceptive, but I have to say that I think you really missed the mark on the reasoning behind Lester's actions. Lester knows he is caught. Running away won't help him at all. It's not as if they wouldn't find him. So it's odd that you don't see why he might choose to try framing someone rather than run away.
It's surprising that he would be so ruthless, it's surprising that he might be able to pull it off.. but it's not really surprising that he would choose to attempt to avoid a murder charge. Running now would only make him look more guilty.
Lester is a psychopath.
Indeed, though it shows a level of deviousness in him that we hadn't really seen before. Up until now, he'd just seemed like he got more and more entangled in events spiralling out of his control, much like Jerry Lundegaard in the original movie, but then he suddenly devised this ingenious plan where he managed to frame his brother *and* get himself a seemingly perfect alibi in the process.
Lester smiling because he's became like malvo, he loves chaos. Lorne malvo almost an anagram for malevolent.
Running with no prep is kinda not feasible in modern times. No money, can't use bank acounts or credit, everything is traceable.
Homeless people exist

Been curious about this show…. Maybe I’ll start it soon, really liked the movie
I get everyone to watch the Fargo mini-series! Season 2 is really freaking good too. 100% fresh for critics via RT and 95% audience. Killer cast too. These are so fun to watch seeing how you two take them in.
Watch them all....
I wonder how they'll react to K&P next episode.
Poor Chumph (workout guy) He just wanted to open up a spa
This could easily have been a season finale but I guess you could look at as part 1 of 2.
What, you're not familiar with Minnesota herring storms? *SMH* Descend every winter around these parts. Hoo-boy! Smell lingers for days. Not as bad as the squid though .... Speaking of which, HBO's "Watchmen" TV mini-series from a few years back is a show I'd love to rewatch with you guys, if you haven't seen it yet!
Oh shi- i didn't expect this on my autofeed. THANK YOU
I commented in the first episode that Fargo season 1 is "brutal but brilliant ". This is the episode that proves it.
9:49 nah itd be in Brainard, MN.. this here is Bemendji, MN.
Back when We were watching real time We would watch Fargo movie just to keep the reference fresh!
Without spoiling why, there were references to Magnolia and Insomnia in this ep. (Showrunner Noah Hawley does this *a lot!* ) Anyone note other film references?
I look forward to you watching the next season. There has been a lot of foreshadowing in this season that points to events that occur there.
Such a great episode/series :)
Loving your reactions. Please keep going. Season 2 is my favourite (because of Hanzee, the Indian!)
Season 1 and season 3 of this show are so incredible...
What a TV series this is. The whole run is great.
Can't wait for season 2
This, in a way, is like a season ending episode. The rest of this season feels like a 'season 2'
[Fish, rain from the sky]
GOD: "You asked for a sign [giant cosmic bass drop], *HERE* "
I was anxiously awaiting you guys to watch episode 6. I love this episode. Episode 8 is a close runner up.
These are great!
Thanks for the video!! See you later!! Stay safe.😊
9:31 "Duh Daniel." 😁
Law enforcement are taught to shoot a deadly threat until they’re not a threat anymore. It doesn’t matter where the person is shot or how many times they’re shot, just that they’ve stopped being a deadly threat. Also, take into effect that handgun rounds are dependent on good shot placement to stop a threat. AR-15s are more deadly because of velocity (kinetic energy) & the bullet’s shrapnel spreading out creating more internal bleeding. The assault rifle aka machine gun used is heavily regulated by the ATF & actually sucks for accuracy purposes if not well trained in handling its recoil. Shooting through glass & especially windshields (glass is curved) does really weird things to a bullet’s trajectory because of many factors like angle of bullet entering the glass, types of glass, speed it hits glass, etc. And everyone knows except Hollywood apparently, that use of full-auto fire is really for suppressing enemy fire so a shooter & his team can move to better strategic positions. Otherwise you’re wasting ammo & quickly & missing a lot because of recoil. Semi-auto (99% of all guns) are best for taking accurate well timed & placed shots.
i think what makes Lester more evil than his movie counterpart is that the malice/idiot ratio points more toward malice with him.
Stavros is definitely a slimy character. Treats his family poorly. And he's apparently the sort of guy with the connections and interest in hiring somebody like Lorne Malvo to solve problems for him. Kind of says it all, really.
Lester's all about that life!
The fish scene really threw me first time I watched it. Suddenly the surreal invades the show. Something that really takes off in season2 haha
There is always something paranormal in every series.
There's a puzzle to solve within the entire show relating to all the paranormal events
@@the98themperoroftheholybri33 It's not paranormal, this is a real thing that happens. Tornadoes and similarly strong storms can pull a bunch of fish into the air and dump them.
Surreal maybe, but not impossible or paranormal at all. It's not common, but it can happen and has actually happened.
I felt the same with the pigs blood I thought it was just a surreal scene and was like nope holy shit. Knowing Billy Bob as the devil he is he found a way for it to rain fish
Lester’s brother told him that he would need to give the police someone else if he was to get away with it Ashe was disowning him so he decided to give them his brother who he resented anyway.
i was already in love with this show in Episode but the last eps are so good that binged with half of season 2. The best night with no sleep that could happen.
@@rullvox5912 No i won't. I did spoil anything so there literally zero reasons for me to stop.
If she is awake and hospital than Molly will understand he missed cause he could not see her and he was nervous his hand was shaking when he was holding the gun
For your Clint Eastwood series, you should watch Play Misty for me....very good..
In addition to the incredible plot development, amazing dark humor and characters, pay attention to the titles of each series. Its refer to a well-known logical paradox or parable. What do you think is the dilemma in this series, referring to the philosophical question of Buridan's Ass? Also note that the series starts with a fish and ends with a fish.
Jerry Lundegard from Fargo the movie was a saint compared to Lester Niegart.
The guy eating the fish is hanzi
Wait till you get to Noah Hawleys LEGION series, it’s amazing
17:44 "You are 911." 🙂
Season two is great 👍
Poor Dennis really screwed up this time
You know you are a Star Wars fan when you see that scene with the guy playing with the voice changer doing Vader and he says "Luke, I am your father" 2:41, and it is annoying because Vader never said that, he said "No, I am your father", yes pointless but still bothers me lol
If the fish weirded you out, wait until season 2!
16:00 it's Neo!!
kinda
You are such a good reaction channel guys, I always find your reactions natural and intelligent, yet funny !
It would be a shame not doing Breaking Bad reaction someday, a flawless show with even better prequel for big fans.
Thank you so much! We have already seen Breaking Bad off the channel but we haven’t seen Better Call Saul so it’s on our short list!
@@TBRSchmitt Great, I'm looking forward to it!
@@TBRSchmitt Better Call Saul is a different show, don't expect it to be just more of the same, but I think it's even better than Breaking Bad.
Im just waiting for you hit a certain episode 😉. I would like suggest banshee as a good show to watch
A strange fun fact. In real life, a Japanese woman who watched this episode, flew to Minnesota to look for the money that the Supermarket King supposedly left in the he snow. She died from exposure in the cold of the Minnesota winter. "Based on a true story", indeed.
that was after seeing the movie and the original money. Happened in 2001. They made both a documentary about her and fantastic film Kimiko the treasure hunter
I thought that was also a fake true story.
4:51 Sam is a problem solver. 🙂
3:05 the angle?
"Caved her head in with a Waring Blender." … Oops, wrong series. Sorry Daniel.
I mean, yeah, guys, they're cops. This is what they do
I think it was the same parking garage as in the movie and I didn't notice it when I first watched it. The one person referred to it as the Gustafson Garage. Gustafson was the last name of Jerry Lundegard's father-in-law in the movie. Being prominent in the community and since he was killed there, they probably named the garage after him in his honor.
The parking garage in the movie is in Minneapolis. The parking garage Stavros goes to is in Duluth. The name Gustafson is certainly a reference to the movie, however.
@@jillorourke You are absolutely right. I just heard Gustafson and that's all I thought of, forgot they were two different cities. Maybe that's how he became a millionaire, a slew of parking garages in the Midwest. Or maybe it's just a very popular name in Minnesota with all of the people being of Scandinavian heritage.
It's a bit funny that they censored "ass" in the title.
Remember, this is all based on a true story and all this stuff really happened.
@@allstarscopeI'll make it true..

cant believe you guys dont remember Buscemi burying that money with that bright red ice scraper towards the end of the movie Fargo
the word "penultimate" means "second to last". It has nothing to do with significance.
Please, do season 2 and 3 too.. season 4 you guys may pass. tnx.
I thought season 4 was enjoyable probably until the episode with the Irish guy being off with Chris Rock’s son. Then everything is just sort of downhill from there. It’s like 3/4th of a good season that falls apart at the end.
Just sign these papers Mr. Stussy.
The fish incident is explained in the next episode. The snow blizzard caused a little mini tornado over a lake and it picked up all the fish from the lake and then threw it onto the road. Crazy right? 😉 Sam, Fargo is one my favorite shows of all time, too, and Season 1 is the best! And your husband is right, Lorne is going to go all out for revenge against the kingpin in Fargo! 😮
MAL - VO. There's no 'r'. It's not hard lol
Lester isn't likable anymore, I hope for Molly and Gus to catch him
56th like
Stick with this show, even the worst season (season 4) has it's moments. Season 5 in November (amazing cast for that season)
I followed you through all of Sopranos. And I enjoyed it. But it is SO frustrating that you are only doing one episode a week on this. VERY unsatisfying.
Good channel though. You guys are good at this.
Just when you think this show is kinda gonns wind down... no..
Lester's brother was always an ass to him. Lester finally reached his breaking point and I have absolutely no sympahty for him.
