As a Korean, these translations make no sense. It’s really hard to appreciate the lyrics more because korean language is very different compared to english. It’s hard to catch the nuances and slang words etc. But it’s okay, I understand. You guys already made the all reaction videos on this album.
I find Doolset invaluable for better translations with explanations. I was stuck on what Bibilly Hills meant and they explained to word play really well doolsetbangtan.wordpress.com/be/
Baepsae is a great example of that. I was always confused why they were talking about crow tits

i know right?! I prefer Genius translation, because it makes more sense when you read it. And its what spotify uses too.
Oh and that line at 5:11 is vey much incorrect haha. So “눈꼽” is the word they use for “eye boogers” which isn’t as gross a word as it is in English. But anyways the line would more translate to “instead of eye boogers, you are all over my eyes” or a nicer way to put it would’ve been “instead of sleep in my eyes, you are in my eyes”
Some of these lyrics translation channels are so eager to put up their video before anyone else that they rush through their translations and you end up with some funky stuff like that haha

@@armyonpluto where does it say so? From what I know Suga produced it. It was one of the beats that he was gonna throw away but Jimin liked it so he suggested it to the company and that’s how it made it into the album. From what I know el capitxn usually helps with the mixing.

@@armyonpluto that’s really strange... He’s the first name in the credits and he always produces beats more than melodies so I thought he would’ve produced it. Plus the way they talked abt the song seemed like Suga produced it but regardless it’s a great song :)

This album is all about the boys sharing the music that is most representative of who they really are, then it’s says to safe there’s a message of being yourself when it comes to the album’s title. I know this was recorded all on the same day but WOW these lyrics were so cringey. I dont know why people make such bad translations in such a hurry. I really hate those channels that just rush to translate things so they can be the "first" instead of actually translating things correctly. Make sure you never use Lemoring's channel again (after this album review I mean). I still can't get over how COMPLETELY crazy the translation for the last line of blue&grey was. That was by far the worst translation ive ever seen LOL.
But anyways, enjoyed this reaction, and thought the whole conversation about the "waves" was hilarious! Im excited for the next song! Do you guys plan to do any album reviews of any of BTS' previous albums in the future?

omg SAME I'm still mad over B&G translations like our fanbase translators took HOURS and some of them posted the lyrics a day after because is a song that wasn't easy to maintain the feeling from the original lyrics to english and other languages, some of then tried and worked so hard and not all of the translations are really accurate. it's so sad that CZcams channels just want to share quickly so they can get those views and money instead of really helping international fans to connect trough the music (not all of them tho, theres people who really put effort into the yt videos)

I love how you all dissect the songs 🤣❤️ There's a youtube channel called DKDKTV who also explains BTS songs in the Korean perspective since BTS uses korean slangs and other metaphors that are not easily understood by just by directly translating it in english. This song is actually about meeting their fans army. Unfortunately their world tour they’d been preparing months for was canceled for this year and these boys really live for touring. They truly love and enjoy their fans company, and as performers, it’s been really hard on them to record performances without an audience they’d been use to having.. They always said it’s armys who give them the energy to keep going both mentally and physically.
And the line about the “blue sea” in J-Hope’s verse, is in reference to the expression that their ocean becomes a desert during trying times. They have a song called “Sea” that talks about this concept of life constantly goes through a series of oceans and deserts. “Oceans” being symbolic of life’s happy/best moments, but during painful times it dries and becomes a desert.

The Skit, it was a audio recording of when they found out they placed #1 in Billboard charts with Dynamite. They are the first Korean group to top the chart! Dynamite is still charting (#6) even after months of it’s release! Suga even said that he cried when he found out. But they’ve also wondered if the reason they got radio spins with Dynamite was because it a song in English. So they expressed their wish to top the charts again, but this time with Korean lyrics.

My favourite part about BTS' music (and lyrics) is that often it's probably made with one intention but it can have many different interpretations. And while this album is the quarantine album. Outside of the context most songs like LGO , blue &grey and telepathy can just be about the general feeling of life going on in hardship , feeling very low in life or being away from someone you love. But I love your interpretations of it too !
