My Aunt and Uncle had one in this particular colour combination. My Aunt loved it, but my uncle loved having new things. When they brought out 2 - tone (light and dark grey) ones, my uncle ordered one, without saying anything to my aunt, as a "surprise". (Which it WAS!). The following Monday morning, my uncle was at work, and my aunt was at home - when there was a knock on the door. The man from the dealer's said : "The keys to your NEW CAR, Mrs. Miller!" "I'll kill him!" was the unexpected reply! My Aunt agreed to accept the replacement Rover P4, in this colour scheme, on the understanding that my Uncle asked her FIRST in future, before buying anything new!
I remember my grandfather had one of these 2 tone green with brown leather I remember we had so much fun getting into this car the smell of the wood and leather such happy memories
In the '70s in Melbourne, Australia (Oz Rover capital), I had a serious case of Rover addiction and owned various P4s (75, 90, 95, 100, 105R, 110) and three P5s (MK Ia, MK IIc, MK III). My all-time fave was a 1956 90. Once it had wound up to its top speed (90 mph) it would happily purr along all day. I finally retired it when the head gasket blew - at 512K miles! Their only persistent fault was the Lucas Prince of Darkness electrics.
Lovely car, thank god so many of these cars are being preserved. What i find so unusual about rover at this time is that the p4, p5, and p6 were all in production in 1963, with the p4 and p5 overlapping by some 5 years!
Wrong hubcaps. They have come from a 110. From new in 1962 (£1200) ours lasted about 180k miles when it was replaced by an identical model with 3k miles in 1988, £250! Beautifully built cars.
No, they started to fit steel doors- aluminium were on earlier cars. Trouble is these cars are getting too expensive- you could buy a Silver Shadow for some of the prices asked... Even with cross ply tyres these cars are VERY heavy to manoeuvre at parking speeds, but yes they are a joy to drive once you get moving! Radials didn't used to be recommended...
sadly, it no longer looks like that now, body is dented and paint is peeling/cracking and blistered, with lots of badly applied touch ups...interior isnt as nice but still very good underneath and engine bay, still goes well, Id still buy it at the right price
@@kimlanghorn8383 You are correct. I was a Rover mechanic apprentice in New Zealand in the 1960s, when the last P4s - 95 and 110 - were arriving in NZ. Each had its own style of hub caps and the ones fitted to the 95 in this video are from a 110. They were both beautiful models and I liked them very much, possibly because they arrived in our dealership brand-new, straight off the ship - all the other P4s that we worked on were years old and a lot of them were showing it. I always liked the style of the Rovers of that time, but, like every other Rover mechanic who ever lived, considered them shits of things to work on.
Beautiful car,but i had to stop watching this video, cause of the wild movements of the camera filming the interiour.Time is money i presume.I didn't see anything. What a pitty.
@@bradleyjamesclassics beautiful aunty~wish, wish, wish. Thoroughly enjoyed your personality showing through! This strikes me for the 1st time, of your vids I've enjoyed. That I recall(!) I throw a 'thankyou💖!' back to you in 2017

Beautiful car. Rovers just oozed quality. The hubcaps are wrong. these come from a 110.
Lovely car. But it has the wheel embellishments from a "top of the range" 110.
It does…..the cigar lighter was from a Rolls Royce :-)

Is Phil Jupitus working for Bradley James?
Mithrasboy - he is welcome to join us....the company cars are good!
It has stolen the hubcaps from a 110.
No, 95s had the same hub caps as the 110.
@@Dazsvintagestuff no they didn't. 95s had the earlier hubcaps.

Rover petrol engines were brilliant but their gearboxes were always rubbish...and I've owned an '80... A '90 a 105 and a 110...
