- In this step-by-step tutorial, learn how you can send and receive text messages directly from within Microsoft Outlook. Text messages include SMS and MMS messages. Along with sending and receiving SMS, you'll learn how to create contacts so you don't have to remember phone numbers when texting. Next, we look at how to create a group of contacts so you can quickly text a large number of people. We look at how to create a rule so when you receive an important email message, you'll also receive a text message. Lastly, you'll also learn how to set up the respond to address, so when someone responds to your email or text, you can direct it to your phone to get your attention.

@@KevinStratvert, Great video from one MS Alumni to another. One issue you might want to pin is that some gateways, like Rogers here in Canada, require login to use the gateway. From your phone, no problem, you can send to an email and see the gateway but you can't reply or originate email to text numbers from Outlook because of the login requirements. People will be frustrated if they don't confirm that gateway is open. Rock on.

Thank you for this video and all of the other content you post. You are my "go to" when I have a question related to an MS product. A question from this video ... I tested this from my corporate Outlook account by sending a text to my boss. She received two copies of the same text. One looked great. It looked like a standard text. The other version is broken into sections. The messages starts with "1 of 8" followed by a portion of the text then, "2 of 8" and some text, and then "3 of 8", etc. until the end of the text. 1) Why did two versions go out? 2) Why was the second one broken into sections, and 3) How to eliminate the second version?

This is great, the only downside for me is our customer really don't like sharing their carrier information, if only they can see that this is a better way to communicate with us in a timely manner everyone would benefit from it...oh well I'll keep trying to convenience them...thanks Kevin for all of your great videos.
You can use free carrier lookup websites or if you are tech advanced you can use “Phoneinfoga” free OSINT tool to batch lookup.

@@pjohn1435 There are few YT tutorials that are pretty easy to follow that show you how to set it up and use it. It gives a lot more data than just carrier (location, social profiles, person name, etc), but I think theres options to disable this to make the search faster if all you need is carrier.

I can only send a text to a phone number via my outlook app on my iPhone but when I try sending it from surface pro it doesn’t go through! Please help

Is there a way or an addon for the outlook app that fully functions with HTML/CSS Email Signatures, especially created with MS Visual Studio Code (Not the signatures created in Word or other writing apps)? Also, how can I create fully functional HTML/CSS Emails for free?
Or in short, should I say, how can we use MS Visual Code Studio for creating emails and email signatures?

Kevin I followed your instructions and sent a text message directly from outlook. It worked perfectly but when I tried to send an attachment the text got through but not the attachment(PDF) format.

Still no PDF editor in the entirety of Windows? But I can send an email to a phone number. Which you can from any email platform, not just outlook.

No, if you set the Outlook rule to forward an important email to your cell, the writer of the email will not see your cell number unless you respond to the email from the text. 🙂 Note: Your cell number will be in Outlook if you have concerns about your company IT Department having the number.

For T-Mobile all SMS messages get converted to MMS messages. If the recipient is actually an application, it may be a problem.

Kevin, I work for a large company. We have the ability to set out of office messages for email and voicemail, but many employees text me while I am on vacation! Is there a way to auto reply that I am out so I don’t feel the need to respond! It’s hard to disconnect when there are so many devices!

Hello! I could use some help please. I created a new contract entry with the correct phone number email address (sent directly by the person’s phone) and a display name. However, the display name won’t show in the emails, it’s only showing the email address still. Is there a way to get the display name to show instead of the phone number email?

Kevin, when I send out a group text it only shows phone numbers, so id hard to distinguish who is replying on the phone part, because I always to my phone. Some of the group are telling me that the message comes in with jumbled letters. Any ideas?
