Thank you for all the support!
Do you sell quads or just fix them up.
You need sprockets on that Z400. Too small.
Ltz because I have smoked 400 ex with 440kits in them and still beat them and I’m on the stock bore
I'm picking the Zuki.
LtZ 500 2 stroke
Having owned both, I could have told you. If a z loses to an ex. There's definitely something wrong with the z.
top speed on a stock 400ex is 73 mph and it lost to the tecate 4 250 which top speed on it he did was 68. the 400ex is not running right if it’s losing to z400
@@ooossccar.7515 i have to agree and disagree the 400ex is geared shorter for more woods terrain and the ltz400 is geared longer giving it has a higher top speed but these facts are for stock quads so
I have owned both and currently a z400 turned into a 470 stroker but z all the way
@@parkerconrad7795 i have no clue tbh i thought 400ex was always faster because i’ve done top speed on both 400ex is faster and it beat the z400 everytime so idk what wrong with them lmao
Wrong lol
I had a 400 ex just identical to that one for like 8 years and that thing NEVER left me stranded on the trail!
If was hard to kill those air cooled honda's
Those things go for ever
It would be cool to see a garage tour
Yh do that
Yes ! That’s what we need, like man go in detail over the quads too
He allready did. But it would be cool if he could show all new bikes
He. Did
Him: *rips it on grass* grass is still perfect
Me: “just starts it in my yard* yards fucked 😂
Dude if I drifted in my parents yard I wouldn't be here right now 🤣
YESSSS IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR SO LONGG
Same dude
The Honda might have a Wing, but it doesn't have a prayer
So glad u finally gave the Suknation some love!!!!! I got an 07 I'm in the process of rebuilding!.....love the channel!
Figured the z would win. When you mod it, it's a beast! 14/40 is stock for the ltz 400. Definitely should try replacing the cdi box! Shouldn't be hitting the rev limiter that quick. I have a dynatek cdi on mines. Cool video
Ive owned a few 400ex and now own a kfx400 and the kfx is definitely faster but the 400 was more reliable.
Hondas made to last.
For anyone wondering artic cat and kawi bought the ltz400 from Suzuki and just put there own plastics on them and named them different
I think your z400 needs a new cdi box, shouldn't hit the limiter that quick.
Definitely a CDI o
I think he knows what he’s doing 😂
Never said he didn't, he does good work!... I don't have the videos he does but ive been wrenching on motorcycles and quads, cars, trucks a long time..
Most definitely shouldn't be hitting it that quick! Dynatek cdi will take care of that! That's what I have
@@TerrellSpivey I like using oem cdi,, some of the aftermarket are over rev limit.
Wearing shorts in the rain while riding. I live on Washington state so I can relate. Never seen someone only grab the clutch when your ready to shift. I always keep my two fingers on.
Love both quads mid to top end Ltz it's faster but not by much the EX has more bottom end Great Video
Looks like chuck should give you some riding lessons 😂
Right made me cringe when he was on limiter
He is ok at working g on stuff but he can't ride for shit. Never has.
Love the vids, please keep posting
2vintage what’s the gearing on the z400 it sounds like it’s geared low is why it’s hitting the rev limiter so fast and the Kawasaki kfx400 is the same quad as the z400 and dvx400
That’s what I’m saying people in the comments are saying that it’s the cdi box
I didnt expect that much of a gap if you change the box on the Lt ot would help it out a whole lot
There's a big difference in the gearing between the sprockets between the two different quads
To be honest if check the specs on the sprockets on the ltz . The previous owner may have changed them for the type of riding he was doing because it tops out way too quick. My brother had one and his wasn't like that at all. It stretched out more like the 400ex.
You guys need to do some trail riding videos. Like the videos though keep it up :)
Put it in 2nd or 3rd and it'll wheelie so easy once you hit the balancing point you'll be a Rockstar and wheelies with the z400... shift right before rev limiter and itll go even faster
I think I might get myself a Honda however! Pretty impressed! Having a spare horse doesn't hurt ! 🙃🙂
A spare horse that literally won’t die no matter what you do* hahaha coming from me doing a 3 minute burnout fresh out of a trail riding sesh engine already hot asf Idk how it didn’t overheat lmao
Those some serious quads💨🔥
Hey 2vintage man
You should really make a vid on how to rebuild and replace your brakes on one of these atvs, Im having an absurd amount of trouble and cant find anything to help me
Change around your gear ratio on the ltz400, it should help with hitting the rev limiter too early.
The rev limiter really makes it not reach full rev which i think would have changed the race a lot
Yeah I agree
I’m back!!!! Awesome video!!!
mannn stuff like this makes me wish i had a brother
🔥that’s awesome dude I love the four wheelers
hello, i got a gilera runner st125 scooter from 2008, i was speeding when i hit a bump and my speedometer stopped working, what can i do?
Definitely not normal for that to hit the rev limiter that fast
personally, i like air cooled more than liquid cooled, its just less things to worry about, + i've never had a problem with over heating on a air cooled. And i've owned many different air cooled bikes and trikes.
You need a rev box, this will help with the early rev limiter
Hey little bro let’s go race quads 60 mph+ down our road in the rain on our Craigslist quads💀😂
Adrenalin junkie
Y not? And they weren't going 60
@@linkinpiatak6669 Idk I just know what it’s like to go down at speeds like that, one falls the other runs him over. Big ouch😂
Do it all the time
@@braptasticfilms3791 you have to be pretty bad to go down on a straight flat road on a quad
Check the frame for cracking up above the front shock mounts. Known issue
fix the jetting so it doesn’t hit the rev limiter quick then do the race again
I have a 07 carb and 09 fuel injection z 400 and mine don’t hit rev limit that fast they must have changed the cogs and lowered the speed u need the plug and play over ride
Where did you get those tires and rims on the 400ex at our what are they called
Is it possible to get the rev limiter to go off at higher rpm
Ltz400s are wheelie machines in my opinion I like the z400 more than the 400ex
What handlebars are on the LTZ
To fix that rev limiter thing get a after market high reving cdi its what i did with my 300ex that hit it too quick
Do you think a ltz400 is a good starter quad I’m 16 and have a little experience on a automatic quad and pit bike?
Where in Wisconsin is this? It looks awesome
Like the videos with both brothers riding together
Now all you need is a KFX 400, i don't know how well it would do, i have a 400ed but i think it would be interesting
I knew the ltz would win. I had a near new 1 back in the day, did some minor mods and it would smoke majority of the other machines I rode with.
What bout Ltz 400 vs kx 100 , crf 230f , ttr 230 , xr 240r ,klx 230, cr 85 expert by wheel, yz 85 fmf pipe?
There’s is a bigger difference than just being air cooled. Ltz is stock 11:1 compression and ex is stock 9:1:1 if I remember correctly.
I asked this question on several threads and forums. Everyone always said the kfx/dvx/z400's are faster.
What’s faster a tecate 4 , banshee or Ltz 400 , Kim sx 125 all stock
What rim size and brand are those on the ex 400
Was riding my uncles 450 the over day they are awesome machines but I forgot the gearing was 1-n-2-3-4 (can’t remember if there a 5 lol) & I kept trying to take off in 2nd I did it a couple of times then I got sick of it & got of 😂 then I learned 1st was down but I hurt my hand & didn’t wanna ride, the only thing I hated was how stiff it felt & the rough terrain I was riding on.
Let her warm up a bit... Chuck: no efs given 😂
You should grab some trx450 or yfz450 front shocks they pretty much bolt on to the 400ex i think the trx rear shock as well. And run the sprocket at 14 /40 you can keep up with most motocross 250 four strokes whithout much problem
Something wrong with that ltz, ive has 4, 2 ltz’s a kfx and a dvx, none of them hit the limiter like that.
wath will be cool to wath is ltz 400 vs tecate 250 2 stroke because the tecate alredy win vs trx400ex
I feel sorry for the dad trying to maintain that yard.
Get some Trx 450r shocks for that 400 huge upgrade
Hard for any air cooled to beat the tighter tolerances of a water cooler.
You guys should swap bikes on the second run's.
I just got the Trx700xx...Its a MONSTER! And I also have the KFX 700....You know...the only 2 Quads you haven't had on here! So now I have a automatic and a manual...🤘 Grow a pair and get some 700s!
raptor the best 700
Replace stator and see, wouldn't surprise me honestly. They were hell on stator in their hayday.
This Suzuki 400 take a look at the CDI box it should have a flat head screw on it to adjust the rev limiter
That 400ex is clean 🤤
Just as I figured. LTZ faster. But the Honda handles really nice and nimble. nice cruiser Great for sport riding.
Would you mind telling me what those rims on the 400ex are I’ve been looking for new rims and those look good
Same I want em
Love both these quads absolutely epic
What exhaust do you have on it?
Those 400ex ain’t no joke I got the same 1 thinking it was gonna be slow
The Ltz throttle feels like how you described because it has a diaphragm carburetor
i need those wheels on the 400ex what are they?
Try a different cdi on the Suzuki should help it rev higher
Chucks the cool brother for sure lol.
can you make a 2 stroke carburetor tuning video i have a 1986 lt250r and having a little trouble jetting it would be helpful i like the way you explain
Sell that and buy a Honda 250r. Quad racer is junk. What exhaust do you have on it. Different exhaust = different jettings
@@lanceromance5768 no but full fmf gold series
@@Bikeinc. I was just breaking balls. I do prefer the Honda over the Suzuki but as long as ur riding and rocking 2 strokes you can never knock a guy for it. I just recently sold me 1986 Honda 250r. Just down to my banshee now. I’ll prolly hold onto that for life
@@lanceromance5768 yea banshee is beast lol but yea of course Honda Over Suzuki got the lt for a really good price tho and she’s my baby lol
@@Bikeinc. where do you live. There isn’t many places to ride around by me anymore. Cops fuck with us to much.
looks like both have same size rear tires but what about the gearing
I have a 2004 kfx400 it’s bored 20 over jetted and has an hmf it’s the nicest quad I’ve owned
Hi guys I have a question do you have a 400cc engine for sale ??
Back in January I bought a brand new Foreman. My wife wanted to learn how to ride so I taught her how to ride on the foreman since it was a foot shift model. I sold my 450R Honda last week and shopping for something else. The slow trail riding we do as you know the 450 isn't really cut out for that we average around 20-25 mph at the most. I love sport bikes and was going to get another one that was better suited for trails I heard both of these are. Behind the being a little bit better on the trails? I'm not worried about topping speed as you can tell I am a Honda guy but that really doesn't make my decision which one would you buy if you're just doing slow trail riding? I don't want another utility since I got one of those already here for when I want to ride it. And it seems like the air-cooled motor would be easier to work on then a liquid cold any input you have is appreciate it
If you want a machine to take a beating deff 400ex but seems how your gonna be running it slow a lot id say ltz400 with some engine ice coolant
@@AaronGoneWild i mean i beat the shit out of my 04 z400, still has all original gaskets, not a bolt has been touched on the motor, no leaks, so id say very reliable
Lovely stuff
Any chance you can help me with my dirt bike yz400f
great race! never sell the 400ex lol
I sold one 400ex a couple years ago, just bought another 2 days ago, she needs some work, but I already went overboard buying parts, pissed off the lady, but ehh, ill just go riding!
What's Chuck gonna do now that he's graduated. I'd buy either one. I live for speed. lol
2003 for sure. The two bolt chain tensioner gives it away.
Good video & good race
Of course the Suzuki is faster its LQ cooled. Both machines need a aftermarket rev limiter box makes such a big difference. After riding my RM 125 my buddy wanted me to try is 400EX. I could barely ride it just kept hitting the rev limiter.
He eventually got exhaust jet kit and aftermarket rev box omg what a difference. I actually enjoyed riding it after that totally different machine.
I just got done watching this video then was looking at LTZ's on market place and saw yours lol
Don’t buy his
i mean the 400 ltz has more power cause from what i seen watercooled make more power then air cooled cause they can cool it better down. but aircooled is bit simpler to maintain i find. less parts, but not good for slow high revs riding.
Having owned 3 ltz400s over the past 16 years; I can assure you that ltz400 is not running the stock gearing at all, maybe a 13T front sprocket probably, cause a stock 14T z400 is no gonna hit that rev limiter that fast! Also, you were racing all the way to 5th gear? Cause that looked like 4th gear 🤔🤔
Doesn’t it hit the rev limiter at the same exact rpm no matter what? Just gotta learn when to shift the bike
Your cdi controls the rpm setting and if it's bad then it'll limit early
Do you have to shift it
I think you should swap wheels...those fly wheels on the 400EX, should go onto The Zook
Do you still have the cr500?
I don't think the ltz is hitting a rev limiter. Mine did the same thing and it end up being the Air filter I installed was to restrictive and not allowing enough air. I tried it with out a filter once after trying everything else and it made a big difference. You should really try it once without air filter or without a air box lid even. Now mine don't make the noise that you are thinking it's rev limiter but i am 90 percent sure yours is going same thing. No rev limiter should be coming on at half throttle. Mark your throttle and see when it starts to cut out
Now you need the ltr/trx 450 race
Meh... The Honda gets smoked everytime anyways 😝😝😂😂
I had a 400ex with K&n Air filter and a slip on fmf pipe and it felt to me like the kfx400 i had that was stock was faster. couldnt race them side by side but now ill know
What pipe is on that
Awesome vid
