Hot or Rot is a Drag Race review show hosted by bussy queen. My show is kinda like "toot or boot fashion photo ruview" for Canada's Drag Race except I go into more details about the show, react to how the queens perform in the challenge, and provide an alternative opinion! Oh - and I'm your host - BUSSY QUEEN!

Canada's Drag Race premiered on July 2 on CRAVE and WOWPRESENTS. The season 1 cast includes Anastarzia Anaquway, BOA, Ilona Verley, Jimbo, Juice Boxx, Kiara, Kyne, Lemon, Priyanka, Rita Baga, Scarlett BoBo, and Tynomi Banks. I just don't get why both Brooke Lynn and Jeffrey want to be another person from a different version of the show. Like Michelle is her own person and these two need to figure out who they are as judges instead of trying to be someone else

At least with Brooke Lynn, sometimes I can see where some of her critiques come from, especially as she herself IS a drag queen and has done drag race. I also feel like, at least in comparison with JBC, she approaches her critiques in a slightly nicer, more constructive way

I hate, hate, HATE, Jimbo's critics every week, it's like they are being too HARD on her, while Rita can bring a total mess on the runway and they just let it be.
Rita was definitely low to bottom two worthy this week. Jimbo was hysterical in the challenge and then just ok on the mainstage, while Rita was bad in the challenge and just ok on the mainstage as well. Jimbo didn't deserve to be low at all.
or winning a challenge with that ill fitting blue cocktail dress. I've actually stopped watching the show altogether. It's pretty obvious they're gonna crown Rita as the winner. No hate towards rita though, i actually love her and it's not her fault that the producers are pushing her as the winner.
@@dominiqueknight6707 A judge actually said she was her favorite and honestly, she was as good as Lemon (who was a winner). I can't understand how she was low.
Rita should've been saved from the bottom for her beautiful gown, not Jimbo for her hysterical performance.
I mean, when Rita does it bad on the runway, suddenly, the main challenge matters A LOT (last week, with her denim look it's the perfect example, where they ignored Jimbo's look) BUT, this week, where Jimbo did it poorly on the runway and Rita was ESPECTACULAR., OMG, now the main challenge doesn't matter. I HATE THEM.

Agreed. JBC and Brooke lyn are terrible judges. Absolutely terrible. Jimbo did the best in the challenge. So there is no reason she was low. Yes her DRESS might not have been a home run but Rita has had poorly made outfits and won!! Even when she wasn’t the best in the challenge at hand. So make it make sense.

I think the judges are concidering the challenge for 50% and the runway for 50%. So with the critiques we know jimbo was amazing in the challenge and flopt the runway, Rita was okay in the challenge and amazing on the runway. So that's why Jimbo was low.
Julian Veenstra then why did Rita win last episode.. her outfit was not good and I don’t even think it was denim. She wasn’t the best in the challenge either so... why did she win. I’ll tell you why. The judges are trash.
Burningdaylighter I also thought she didn't deserve to win last week (scarlet bobo should've just like this week) but by the critiques of tje judges she did great in the challenge and did great on the runway.
I'm sorry but Lemon clearly did the best in the challenge. I can't with Jimbo's delusional stans
I feel like the judges were so PETTY for putting Jimbo low. Drag race isn’t statistical , but a great performance and a less well received runway is a safe. I think Bussy is onto something about not wanting to reward Jimbo. I think Illona said that Jimbo’s sexual humour wasn’t ‘PG’ enough ... which makes me Q why Jimbo was on the show 😂
It's weird because Drag Race has never been a PG show though. Netflix says 16+.
I could understand the perspective of wanting her to do something less cliche and more adventurous. Hyper sexual binbo is an easy laugh but doesn’t show a lot of range or uniqueness.

its production and the storylines theyve placed on queens. they wanted Jimbo to be the “quirky underdog” and Rita to be the “strong powerhouse” which is why they keep handing wins to Rita like hot cakes.
The underdog story line would of still worked if they just gave that storyline to Lemon and made Jimbo and Rita rivals type storyline since they’re both power houses.
For me Lemon was Just so much better than Everyone else, she was the best in the challenge and the Runway. Also i thought Jimbo looked glamorous in that old Balls style.
I agree, although bobo looked great on the runaway, i didnt think her performance in the challenge even came close to lemon's and lemon's look on ther runaway was more creative, def think lemon deserved the win.

It was't bad but we seen those type dresses so many times in the runway, and the judges are shock 😂, hair wasn't that great either.

On the runway it looked fine, but in the "untucked" part when you see it more up close it looked bad
Ikr? She was giving that Tilda Swinton look and Jimbo has a lot of nerve coming for her lace when that hairline is harsher than a sharpie, and his collection of synthetic wigs leave a lot to be desired.

JBC definitely gets a ROT. I think they're trying to make him the star of the show. BLH needs to featured more in the Werk Room, she is the contestant's true peer.
I find it funny that people are saying that, when it's clear that they're using JBC as a scapegoat.... Brooke Lynn has said the EXACT same critiques as JBC every single week. it's clear they're trying to throw JBC under the bus to protect BLH sorry!
@@yepitsthatguy5278 Out of the 3 co- hosts, the one you see the most is JBC which gives him more opportunity to be criticized. As I mentioned in my comment, BLH needs to be featured in the Werk Room because she can offer advice and mentorship from her many experiences as a competitor in pageants and on RPDR.
@@feliciaecheverria Sorry, I think you may have missed my point. Every week BLH has the exact same critiques as JBC, yet the show is letting JBC deliver the cruel and unfair critiques while BLH just hops on and says she agrees. I'm merely saying I disagree that the show is making JBC the star, I think with the enormous backlash, they're editing JBC in a way in which they're just throwing him under the bus.
Back last year when they were filming, maybe they wanted JBC to be a shady version of Carson and Ross to contrast Brooke as the professional drag queen and Stacey as the motherly supportive figure. However, at this point in time, where we are about to watch Ep. 8 .... no I don't think they're still pushing for JBC to be the star of the judging panel or the shady gay guy. They're fully just shoving him under the bus. He's very snarky and quite over the top in his critiques but the foundation judging that he gives every week, is the exact same as BLH. Maybe they want to keep BLH for future seasons and relegate JBC as a guest host who knows.
I agree that BLH and Stacey should both be in the Werk room and challenges for any future episodes/seasons, cos JBC is both unsupportive but also SO cringe

I like jimbo’s runway, it looks like gaga’s first met gala look on 2018, also you can see that she’s kinda making fun of pageant and making it grotesque
I'd argue that Jimbo also brought a unique take. Lemon brought kids pagent. The other queens brought drag pagent. Jimbo brought 1950s beauty queen (Miss America) pagent. I think the judges didn't understand the reference to be honest. They were too narrowly focused on Drag specifically to see the obvious more mainstream beauty pageant reference
@@knino7763 it wasn't amazing, but it definitely didn't merit the "nothing glamorous" or the "looks like you made it,it's the worst you've worn" comments. I honestly think they didn't even consider Jimbo was referencing the str8 world pagent.

Am I the only one who loved the guest judge this week? She even appreciated the uggliness of jimbo's dress and you can tell she actually watches the show, her comments were on point and even cracked some great jokes in the runaway portion.

I love how the judges will give Rita a win for her look last week, but wont look past Jimbos this week, and also, whenshe had the paper look with the powdered face, the judges needed to know their history! Marie Antoinette (Who Jimbo was going for) and people of those times would have powdered faces, but only a powdered face. If anything, Jimbo did too much powder that week with the chest and back
I agree with the fact that the powder was fine only being on the face for that inspiration, but the wig made no sense with it. I wondered if they didn't get the reference because the wig didn't reflect it.
She was robbed last week though.
I think that the issue is that jimbo said she ran out of time instead of saying this is how it actually was supposed to be because of xyz.

That is not Marie-Antoinette style. The face actually looked more like late Elizabethan and everything else (shape, hair, crown, etc) was off

I love Jimbo, we all do. It's completely understandable for Jimbo to have the reaction that she did, and Jimbo is entitled to have her authentic feelings..... however, let's stop endlessly sugarcoating and excusing that behaviour. We don't need to bash her, but just because she's our fave, doesn't mean we have to mindlessly defend her every single episode
Jimbo s cult fans (Valentinas canadian version) are hysterical and will scream favoritism over Rita Baga. Jimbos look sucked it sucked! She clearly missed the spot on the pageant challenge which she obviously doesnt know anything about. She is not a glam queen and if the judges didnt give Jinks Monsoon a chance until she gave them real glam look, why should Canadian judges give to Jimbo?
