This time it's an easy recipe but it's so fun to make that I thought everyone should know how to do it! I actually forgot about pop rice (or puffed rice) until recently when we had dinner at a hotel where they actually served it to us. I personally think pop rice on the stalk is the most fun of all, but of course if you don't have access to a rice paddy then you can make this with any raw rice at all from your grocery store.

Jun! I made this for my mom and she almost started crying when she ate it because her mother used to make it for her when she was growing up. My family are all navajo (native american) in northern arizona and my momsaid when her mom went to get the commodities, they would get a lot of rice and her mom would fry it and eat it with her. Im happy you shared this and I was able to make this for my mom and seeing her that happy made my day.

Actually, Indonesia kinda have it too. But it's a little different. We make it from rice and make like "hamburger" shape but loosely, not packed tight, and then we dried it under the sun until it theoretically harden and "turn back" into rice but with a shape, after that we fried it. It's called Rangginang. We usually made it from leftover rice.

Okay the food looks incredible but can we talk about how high you can set the quality on this video? I've never seen another video with such a quality option
I'm on 360p and it looks better than any 1080p video I've seen
My phone only allows it to go to 480p so I can't see how high the option really goes, but yeah, 4K cameras are starting to become more common if that's what it is. Colors are great in the video though.

It's for removing the bran and polishing the inner portion of the rice.

Greg Weatherup it takes the brown bran coat off the rice. Brown rice goes in, white rice comes out. I think it's awesome that they just have walk-up vending machines for that in Japan.
Yeah it's for removing the bran and polishing the inner endosperm, I've heard that some Japanese people will polish rice almost down to the germ.

I really enjoy how you engage/involve your cats.
Some people say "cats are total jerks because, well.. that's just their nature." which is untrue not only for them, but for all pets. If you engage your pets, give them affection, and show them that they are part of your life, they will almost always react/behave accordingly.
For instance if you kick/yell at/isolate , they will likely not react well to people. Alternatively, if you treat them as friends AKA engage them (pet them and talk to them) and also care for them (make ready their food and water), they will almost certainly love you and respect your (and their) surroundings.
Most of the time, the way a pet acts tends to be a reflection of yourself.
You get what you give :)
