First painting I've done in 14 months since before my Mother Passed away last Feb. Very Good to be painting again this was so wonderful. Loved your tutorial. Thank you.
I am teaching watercolor to a small group of developmentally disabled adults and I am going to get them to try this. It’s amazing how well they do! I will try and show you some of their work sometime. They love your videos as much as I do!
I am an almost 86 yo; love your abstracts, the ore abstract the better. Thank you
Hello usermq8fy… , I 82 and find watercolor a nice expressive medium. Octogenarians rule.
I painted this and it turned out really pretty. I'm a beginner and its one of the nicest paintings I've done i hung it on the wall.
I love your style. You’re not making me feel bad for using inferior materials by preaching and your paintings are beautiful.
So enjoyed watching this. I found the new Bob Ross! Can’t wait to try it.
Christmas trees are wonderfull.
You’re amazing I did it! You’re the best!!!!! 🙏🏼
I’m learning SO much! Thank you! I’m very ill from osteoporosis and some days I can hardly move from my aching back...then I paint! Tomorrow I will try this! Maybe it will be ok and I can give it to my little brother who has helped me a lot lately, when I’ve been extra much in pain.
Saying a prayer for you. 💜
Being creative is such a wonderful way to manage and cope with life's challenges and difficulties...physical and mental. Time flies and pain is lessened. CZcams is wonderful for learning about art and the tutorials are fabulous. I put on some music or listen to an audio book and the world becomes a better place.
My new project for the next year is to work with the exercises in Lorna Scobie's books all beginning with the title"365 Days of" ...Drawing, Creativity, Art in Nature, etc. they are actual work books with tons of stimulating ideas and exercises. Some times i am just not stimulated and don't know what to do in my "creativity center" so i have a feeling these will be fun and give me a kick start. Plus there is always something new to learn.
My best wishes to you. Make art part of every day.
Sorry to hear about your osteoporosis... I'm 67, and fairly healthy, but I have times when my stress won't be relieved by anything but painting. I paint and forget everything else! People like Ellen help guide us on the journey... she has taught me so much! 💗
I’m so sorry to hear about your condition. I too suffer from extreme back pain, have compression fractures and severe osteoporosis. I started watercolour painting as well as a way to distract my mind. I even started a CZcams channel but, sadly, due to multiple setbacks, have not even been able to sit and paint for over 2 months. I hope your pain allows you to continue to paint and that you can enjoy your artistic journey ❤️
Lol.....Welllll.....I have to say Ellen, I gave it my best shot. And yes! It came out beautiful!! But, mine looks a bit like a major Nor'easter has arrived! Yes, just as you said, you certainly can get a tad carried away with splattering the guache! Happy Holidays!! 👩🦳🖌️🎄
Wiggle....Wiggle..Wiggle!!... WE'RE PLAYIN HERE PPL!!!...
🤣😎❤👍
You’re a true artist!!!! Your work is fantastic! I don’t paint but I watched this whole video and marveled at how well you work. It’s like magic. And you’re so relaxing to watch. I saw some videos of a Polish girl that was painting but I couldn’t stand the way she just kept babbling on as if she liked to hear her own voice. Not like you do. The things you said and the way you expressed yourself were perfect. Calm and relaxing. And fun. In the other videos of that Polish girl, she kept on saying she loved everything she was doing! Every stroke!!! It was very bothersome. I appreciated your character so much more and your way of approving your work as you go along, in an intelligent way. Thanks for sharing your wonderful talent. (P.S. I have nothing against Polish people!!!)
Your the bomb when it comes to watercolor tutorials..no one else comes close ..I always feel like an artist when I follow along
thank you!
I absolutely love your tutorials! I'm new to trying out water colours and am amazed at the results I'm getting from following your lessons. You make it so fun and really explain everything well. Thank you so much xx
THIS is the very first LOOSE painting I've ever done that I actually liked my results! Thank you so much!
I love your playfulness, encouragement, and compassionate words through this pandemic. Your videos have been truly therapeutic!
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I'm so glad!
@@ellencrimitrent Your painting are beautiful, thank you for sharing. And I agree with Lisa, during this difficult times all we need is kindness
Just found this Ellen, it's getting near that time of year again to start thinking about holiday cards... cheers!
Hi Ellen, just wanted to say thank you for giving me the inspiration to pick up my paintbrushes again. I lost my way due to illness and then the intensive care and worry for my elderly dog as she came to the end of her life. I didn't think I would ever feel creative again but thanks to your tutorials I have now painted 10 Christmas cards and am looking forward to giving this a go. Stay safe..
Sorry for the loss of your dog .
@@mgmccartney8513 thank you for your kindness
So sorry, mine is getting close too. Feeling as you my dear, it’s awesome. You inspire me too.

I love your work. how you talk. It makes me believe I CAN! thank you🌹
Thank you, so much fun. I love your style of teaching
I really really like your work…. Learning a lot….
This is fantastic! I've done this scene on cards with variations and my friends love them. I usually go nuts with cards for the holidays... Thanks so much, I love how you are so encouraging. Would never tried this on my own.
I just did followed this tutorial and it turned out nicely! Thank you! SUBSCRIBED!
Wow... Reminds Me of the Northern Lights!!!.... Can u make a Tutorial on them!???
😎❤👍
I love the red against the winter scene. You always help me feel I can do it.
At first glance I thought there would be no way I could do this, but after watching it I really think I can! Looks like so much fun.
told ya it was easy!
Aww, the way you explain your process is so fun . 💖
Haven’t painted with my watercolours for a while so I followed along to this and it turned out great! I liked that it was in real time too 😁
Love love love it..Thanks heaps!! I love the misty effect!!
Literally painted upside down and created a masterpiece. Thanks for the tutorial!
I loved this so much! I lost my dad 10 years ago on 11/18/2012 and my brother just a year ago on 11/11/2021. I put a cardinal in each tree to represent both of them.
I absolutely loved this and can’t wait to make my version which won’t look anything like this 😂
Thanks Ellen, that was so much fun! Just to let go and see where the paint goes. Thank you for the tip on painting the cardinal.
Your technique is amazing. Thank you for sharing. 💕
I have just bought watercolours and even with the wrong paper this was fun and easy to do.
This is really a masterpiece. You say easy? I'm going to give it a shot. The magic is probably the expensive Arches paper other than your mastery!!😊!! I have Canson and I'll try it on that. Thanks so much to make it fun.
I like watching you play! 😊
Love your work Ellen! I've been painting for years (self-taught), and have really been wanting to learn watercolor. Your tutorials are wonderful and very helpful. I'm less afraid to try now, and have done one of your mini landscapes which turned out pretty good. Thank you!
One of the loveliest. Can’t wait to try.
Have fun!
Really pretty scene Ellen. Love all the shades of green. Gives it so much depth. ❤️🎄❄️🎄❤️
You are right, Ellen! Super easy and your instruction makes it so. My painting exceeded my expectations😄
Dear Ellen, I seldom paint after watching a tutorial, but I've tied to follow this one and am really pleased with my result. Thank you so much for such a simple to follow yet really sweet turorial.
Knocked it out of the park this time. The techniques you used this time were great. I never would have thought about doing that technique on the pine. I absolutely loved it. Thank you, thank you, thank you. ❤️
So very beautiful! 😍
This looks very advanced, Ellen.
I love it!
Magical!
nope super easy you can do it!
This is the prettiest holiday card tutorial I've seen! Thank you!
I painted this and made them into cards. They turned out gorgeous! Thank you!
Thank you Ellen for this tutorial! I love how this turned out!
I amazed by the use of Scotch tape! I've been using masking tape and the watercolor seeps through a lot. Can't wait to try this tutorial.
This was auch a famtastic tutorial! I've NEVER tried watercolors before, and my picture turned out amazing! Your commentary helped so much. Thank you!😀
I love this. I also got a good laugh at the “ tap tap taps” to sprinkle snow…it reminds me of a scene on The Parent Trap when the twin girls showed their potential step-mom, how to tap two sticks together to keep the mountain lions at bay!!!
Thank you....I used part of this painting to make a bookmark for a friend....thanks for teaching in a way that makes the joy of painting possible for us beginners.
Ellen, this is such a beautiful card and I'm so excited to try this out today. It has that classic vintage look which I love! Thank you.
My family sent me a watercolour set for christmas, so I painted this on rough watercolour paper to send to them as a christmas card to thank them!!! Very proud of myself it was easy and still challenging enough to be fun! As well as beautiful!!!
I love this. I have tried it twice now and though my results are not horrible, they don't compare with the beauty you captured in yours. I have rewatched your video now and I see where part of my downfall was, so hopefully the third time will be the charm. Thank you for sharing your gift with us!
Thank you so much for this! I always feel a little stressed in the middle of it, but I was pretty happy with the result! It was so easy I could do it while my kids were all crowded around or roller blading and tossing footballs! I'm hoping to work through many of your tutorials this winter!
Thank you for this tutorial! I am a beginner and this turned out really nice! I’ll be making more of these for holiday cards.
I am really really enjoying these tutorials and painting with you. Am so happy I found this!! Thank you Ellen!!!😊
I love this painting and am ready to give it a try! Like you said, just have fun with it and that's what I plan to do! Thanks Ellen
You can do it!
Came back (2022) to say that I did make a couple of these last year. Coming back because I want to make more this year. They turned out so well! I impressed myself. Haha-And I’m my worst critic. Probably the prettiest Christmas cards I’ve made. (Thanks for your great instructions.)
Another lovely card to make for VERY special people. Thanks Ellen!
How beautiful, I will try this! Thank you and kind regards from Berlin Germany 😁👍🤗🇩🇪
Fantastic tutorial! Loving your great energy of having fun and encouraging everyone. Thank you so much! 😃
So glad I found your videos. I’ve painted acrylic for a years but lately I have been playing around with watercolor and I needed some direction, you’re tutorials are easy to follow and the tips are perfect! So thank you!

Tried this and it came out SO BEAUTIFULLY! Thank you, Ellen!
Ellen I love your personality. You make it look so easy. I love your paintings! Thank you!
Thank you so much,I really use your videos,i have been working watercolor for more than 10 years and i find your videos really useful👌👌👌
Just wanted to say thank you SO much - I looked at this and thought it would not come out very well as looked quite complex but not only did I manage it, when I saw it started to look right I had so much fun! Thank you for bringing such (Christmas!) joy. xxx
I painted this today and I learned a few things. I kept needing to add water to get the paint to keep running to the edge. I learned that I needed way more paint than I usually use! It took me beyond a 'hesitant' threshold, which was great. I wanted to use it for my Christmas card this year, but I will try another one before I decide. I kept backing away to get a different perspective and see if it was good enough and when I realized I was in the living room and my painting was in the dining room I started laughing. Try try again! I love the blues and greens of this! Thank you, Ellen. :)
Thank you, for your encouraging words ! You hypnotize me with your positive words like, it's very easy especially for beginners. this gives me hope.
Beautiful!! I’m just trying my hand at water colors and I’m going to give this a try. Thank you ♥️
I painted this...And Wow it ended up being beautiful! Please make more video's like this!!
it is the best and loveliest Christmas card painting. I will do this for sure. Thank you for making it easy, we can do it!

Love this - a beautiful scene!
Magical pic, Ellen! Love snowy pics...
Thank you so much Ellen! This was so much fun to paint. Very easy and it turned out beautiful for a beginner like me.
Love your videos...I still call myself a beginner and since it has been a bad health year...I have painted many of your tutorials as bookmarks to enclose in cards..thank you...the way you wield that brush gives me confidence..wonderful!!
So glad that I just found your channel! Last year I tried to teach myself watercolor but I felt I didn't really get it, and I so intimidated that I lied it down. I find your style and your instruction so helpful and it makes me want to try watercolor again! Thank you!
I love this effect! Well done, Ellen! It looks like so much fun that I'm actually going to give it a try. Thank-you!
I painted several of these for Christmas card 2020 and they came out amazing!! And my first watercolor ever.
Wonderful!
Ellen! You make this so approachable! I am definitely going to try this, it's BEAUTIFUL!!!
Love this painting tutorial
So great! Reminds me fairytale “12 Months”, where poor little girl goes for snowdrops for the Princess. And there in the forest she meets 12 brothers Months. For her kind heart they helps her. And Miracles happens to her....
Thanks for video. Its really simple. Draw for my family...
love your videos, you show that you don't need to know 100% what you are going for and that it's ok to make mistakes and twick it on the go, thank you so much!!
